- Budget 2024, while putting emphasis on fostering employment and skilling, has stuck to the fiscal consolidation path. But a closer look at the government's tax revenues shows that individual tax payers collectively are paying more than the corporates. Yet the tax paying Middle Class, is again being squeezed, at least in the short term. That's because the Budget 2024 has increased taxes on capital gains especially the long-term capital gains (LTCG) tax on equities, short-term capital gains (STCG) tax and tax on share buyback. This essentially means, the Middle Class, is being nudged to bet on the long term.
After budget, my respect has increased for the people of Ayodhya 🤠

Tax slabs are almost unchanged for the last 10 years, whereas inflation has increased on all food items by 3 times, example rice ten years back 20 rupees kg and now 60 rupees kg, similarly toor dal 50 rupees kg ten years ago and now 150 rupees per kg

Other day i was in a seminar where #CBDT #Ramanchopra, said that they received representation from corporates and have reduced corporate taxes, poor sallary class cant even represent, engaged in earning our daily bread forget butter. I think we should also make representation to Govt.or revolutionize , we are hardly 2percent of the population . Maybe not a major votebank

How capital gains is a good move? Earlier also LTCG attracted less tax rate than STCG but now the tax rates have been increased: 12.5% now vs 10% earlier for LTCG and 20% now vs 15% earlier for STCG.
Super senior citizens plus 80 were having Rs 5 lacs per annum as tax free and now this benefit is abondoned under deep sea 😢😮

Incorrect information. Due to indexation, the taxable income was coming to nil for people holding a house for long. Now taxes will be payable in all the cases. Moreover interest paid is not considered as cost of acquisition.
