I'm the proud owner of one of these and let me tell ya; this guitar has tone as well as punch.Especially for a "small body"..All solid mohagany with maple trim,it looks as great as it sounds. This guitar is the best one I've ever had. .Paul,Bobie and the gang are a great bunch of folks to work with. So,what are you waiting for? Pick up thu phone and give um a call..You'll be glad you did..I know I am! Thanks for everything,Guy's! George
Me too. Thanks for adding this to your fav's Richie so that I got to spend a little bit of my day listening to these 2 sweethearts exchanging licks and laughs. LOVED IT!!!! btw, I just picked up a Goldtone myself. I'm trying out that D tuning you told me about. It's so fun.
Incredible picking Sir !!! I've got one of these coming in about 3 weeks. hopefully mid-February....Playing a Regal Black Lightning now which I love.Bought a Dobro Hound Dog with pickup.I liked the guitar but the setup was, well non-existant.Buzzes from the nut & saddle on strings 1,2 & sometimes 3.Could not get a good tone with the pickup, even with the Fishman Platinum Stage PreAmp. The pickup quit working about 2 weeks ago.Fortunately I was within the company's Return period. we play a good bit of bluegrass infused southern gospel & I wanted to add the Reso to supplement my Emmons pedal steel.really anxious to "meet" the Gold Tone/PBS.....Mighty impressive sounding guitar.
Mike is deffinately unmatched! He can get a sound that noone else can. As far as Goldtones go,I've heard and played so called "custom builds" by various so called builders that don't sound this good.
That's his signature sound, I went a workshop with Mike A. and asked him how he got that sound. Part of it comes from playing in octaves and the rest is a mystery.
They are both great with two different styles. Love that Jimmy Heffernan and his blues lick at aprox 1:25 Jimmy. Can you teach that one on your site? Thx.
I don't like a bro with a soundwell.. Unless it came from Paul. This man truly knows how to make a guitar that sounds exactly the way it was intended to sound. Mike will forever be missed by us all.
Just stumbled upon this. Jimmy Heffernan taught me my first banjo licks...a long time ago. He is a fantastic musician and teacher.
