The deco seems to have a more pronounced bass response but I think the PBS will cut in a bluegrass band best.

Gold Tone sounds great, but you definitely get what you pay for if you spring for the Beard.

Wow! they both sound awesome! I'll take them both! Price wise? I would take the Goldtone and feel like i stole it for around a 1000

To my ears the Goldtone has a more classic, old-timey sound whereas the Deco has a more modern 'Jerry Douglas' kind of feel with a bit more depth and bite. Both great sounding dobros, but bear in mind the Deco is around twice the price of the Goldtone!
