This is the most explanatory video I could find on yt for this monitor. Thanks a lot. I ended up buying it for 352€ and out of that my company contributed 46€ although this is my personal device. But still 352 is a great deal for this. Anything around 350 is worth buying. Trust me I’ve gone through 10+ products (32”, 4k) and this is the one with most positive reviews and productivity. Only USB C is missing. Btw, Samsung products within this price range are notorious for breaking down and it has quite a bit of backlight bleeding and that’s the reason I went with dell although Samsung is cheaper. I use Samsung 34”/32” at my office and I knew the difference very well.
Thanks for watching @cobssmambayt3559, glad the video helped : ) Yea it took me a while until I settled on this monitor too. I was also thinking of the LG 4K monitors, but I really hate the look and stability of their monitor feet, so this monitor has been working great so far. Btw, be sure to use the RTINGS profile if you find the colors a bit off. Enjoy!
Hey Emil, thanks for the kind words! I reviewed Dell's newer 43" 4K monitor also here: th-cam.com/video/jJf8pJWPwSc/w-d-xo.html but I ended up returning it and going back to this 32" curved display because I didn't consider the display performance to warrant the much higher cost.
Thanks for that incert. I am almost ready to make my decission which DELL monitor to buy, I just needed to get used to the idea of spending so much to have what I really want with possibly one exception.
@@emilschneider9974 You're welcome. They do go on sale throughout the year. If they're not on sale, you can sometimes negotiate with the dell support agent via chat to get a discount too.
Awesome review! Very thorough. Production quality is spot on as well! I didn't have any questions at the end of the video, so you nailed this! Definitely earned my Sub! :)
This is an excellent review! It’s incredibly thorough and really helps provide a better understanding. I need to connect two laptops to this monitor in a 50:50 split, allowing me to multitask between my work and home computers. I believe this can be done using either the Picture-by-Picture (PbP) or Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature.
Yes it should be possible to do that. Btw, I also reviewed a 43" version, which may be better if you plan on splitting the screen 50/50 or using PIP: th-cam.com/video/jJf8pJWPwSc/w-d-xo.html
i went with cheaper 4k curved Samsung as my first 32 inch 4k and was extremely pleased with how even simple applications and very old video games looked extremely good. This Dell should be even better.
Hey Waldemar, what is the model number of the curved Samsung you went with? I'm curious to see how it compares in terms of pixel density and maximum brightness levels.
Hey Waldemar, here are the differences I've found. The Dell is overall better for sure. Curve: 1500R on Samsung & 1800R on Dell - The Samsung will be more curved Brightness: 250 cd/㎡ on Samsung & 300 cd/㎡ on Dell - The Dell will be slightly brighter Contrast: 2500:1 on Samsung & 3000:1 on Dell - Better on Dell Viewing Angle: Same on Both HDR: Not available on Samsung - Dell has HDR, but not HDR+ The Dell also has speakers, but the Samsung does not. (I would use external speakers anyway)
@@geoffroyfalot3583 Thanks for watching : ) Btw, did you change the ICC Profile on yours? It really made a difference when I used the RTINGS profile on mine.
Hey @technosandee, it should perform without any issue when connected to Apply products as well, and I believe the optional Dell Display Manager software is also available for MacOS.
Just curious, why do you prefer 16:9 over 34" 21:9. My gut tells me that ultrawides are too wide, especially if I plan to do a dual monitor setup. So I am thinking of getting this for work purposes only. Thanks
When I got this monitor, it was my first 4K monitor and I wanted it because I edit and create 4K videos, so I wanted an exact 1:1 representation, but for productivity, I agree that 21:9 would be better. I've contemplated getting wider or maybe even ultrawide at some point, but unless this monitor gives out, I'll probably stick with it.
@@radhikashitlani5859 Hey Radhika, you can follow the steps on this website to do it : ) pcmonitors.info/articles/using-icc-profiles-in-windows/ Let me know how it goes!
@@vicsingh3516 Hey Vic, this link has the steps: pcmonitors.info/articles/using-icc-profiles-in-windows/ Let me know if you were successful after following the steps.
You can game at between 40 Hz to 60 Hz in occasionally if you're a casual gamer, but if you game a lot or are somewhat competitive and want the best visuals, this is really not ideal for it. The contrast levels won't make games look amazing and if you have a powerful GPU, I'd want a higher refresh monitor to match the FPS. A lot of new TVs are capable of 120 Hz refresh rates and this can only do half of that. It's best suited for productivity or office use, but if you're not too picky and play games that aren't FPS fast-paced action games, it'll still work decent.
Hey Jason, I wouldn't recommend this for gaming or watching lots of 4K movies. I view this monitor as more for productivity. It doesn't have amazing contrast ratios for movies or proper HDR, and the refresh rate is 60 hz, which is too low for fast reaction games.
Hey would you say that the monitor is good for streaming movies and TV shows? I'm getting a better internet connection soon and I'm looking to upgrade so I can stream and properly watch in 4k
I don't think it is ideal for movies and shows, but it will work if you have no other 4K display for now. You may find that the contrast is lacking when watching HDR content especially.
Thanks for this awesome review! I've just purchased it, and I do sense some issues with the colors, can you please further advise how to use this ICC parameters to adjust it? I saw the RTING link you attached, but I haven't found any recommendad parameters in it
Hey @user-lk2cc6ft6q, on the RTINGs page, you can click to download the ICC file, then just add it to the monitor settings in Windows. The ICC file contains all the color adjustments, so simply adding it to the monitor is all that is needed. If you're on a Windows computer, try following these steps and let me know how it goes: pcmonitors.info/articles/using-icc-profiles-in-windows/ If you're on Mac, try this video: th-cam.com/video/J-YHwnioLAU/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching 🙂
Hey great video, i am currently debating as to buying this or the samsung m7 32inch 4k smart monitor. I could care less for the smart monitor features, but other than that for daily office use, movies streaming and casual gaming which monitor would you suggest
Looks like the Samsung monitor is better overall, more powerful speakers, has a remote to access menu settings, can supply up to 65w charging and HDR10. I think the Dell would win for maybe build quality because the base is so heavy and wide that the monitor stays planted and doesn't wobble or move at all.
@@DemCrumbliesHey appreciate the quick reply. This is my first time buying a monitor how important is the curved display you reckon while buying a monitor. Just curious, im a bit intrigued by curved monitors.
@@rishitshah2556 I think you really only need to consider them if you're short on horizontal space on your desk since the slight curvature can help reduce the overall width. I noticed the curve the first week or two that I used it, but now, I've gotten to used to it that I don't even notice the curvature much. I can easily go between a curved or flat screen and not mind either. I would notice a much sharper curve for sure, but on this monitor, it's pretty slight to me.
What is your opinion on butting up 3 of these curved monitors side-by-side? I want to use it for stock trading and looking at candlestick trends. Currently, I'm looking at the same monitor in the flat screen version. Do you have a preference, going flat or curved, using them as I descrbed?
Hey Dizz, I would definitely go curved because it'll take up less room horizontally and you won't have to rotate your head as far to see everything at a glance. Just be sure that if you're not wall mounting them, that you have a strong desk because the metal base is pretty heavy and you'd have 3 of these if you end up going with them.
@@DemCrumblies Thank you for your quick response back and I agree on the space and ergonomics of viewing all three side-by-side. I guess I was a little concerned where the monitors would butt up. I understand the monitor is curved in the center and flat on the ends. So, you have two flat ends butting up, may make the setup flat in that area and not one smooth curve. If not one smooth cure, would it be distracting or unpleasant?
Hey Dizz, here's a Reddit thread where someone has two of them setup. The second photo shows the edges next to each other. Doesn't look too bad I think. www.reddit.com/r/macsetups/comments/nev5aq/15_2018_mbp_running_2x_s3221qs_monitors_they_are/

@Dizz Thanks Dizz! I appreciate the support 🙂But yea, it'll be a pricey setup with 3 monitors, so best to get as much information as you can before you commit. Good luck!
I can see how the S3422DW would also be great, but since I edit my videos in 4K, I really wanted a 4K monitor. If you don't need 4K, then the S3422DW looks great because the refresh rate is 100 Hz compared to the 60 Hz on the S3221QS.
Hello, congratulations for the great video, I have a U2720q monitor and I would like to buy this monitor, but a question I have is how good is this monitor for graphic design and since its screen is VA, there will be no problem with colors, can you help me?
Hey Isaías, I use it for graphic design and video editing, and it works for that purpose, but it doesn't excel or wow me like an OLED monitor would. It's definitely sharp enough for graphic design work and has good sRGB coverage, but peak brightness isn't good if you're going to use it in a bright room or near a window. Btw, you can check this very detailed review from RTINGS for more insight into the performance: www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s3221qs
Hi, I mainly want to use this monitor for coding which means a lot of googling and stackoverflow, TH-cam videos etc... If let's say I place opened a video containing an API testing video for exam ple will the text be too blurry? Or is it still clear 2. Also is the 60HZ refresh rate a downturn for occasional gaming like Rocket League, but ofc my main goal is programming n work
The text should still be clear enough because I sometimes split screen like that. I actually find the 32" a bit small now after using it for a while though. Dell will release some 120 hz monitors in the next month or so, but the price will be significantly higher than these current 60 hz screens.
Question: If I connect this monitor to a Dell laptop and use it as a second monitor, will I be able to use my laptop monitor and this second monitor as separate monitors in such a way that I can have some items or windows appearing on one monitor without them also appearing on the other monitor? For example, let's say that on my laptop I want to view my laptop desktop and an active MS Word document, while on this second monitor I want to view an MS Excel document and a TH-cam video. If so, what would that kind of setup be referred to, so that I can learn it? I realize that with using only the one computer (the laptop), I would be able to make entries into only one document at a time. Thanks - Excellent review. Plus, your replies and comments to others below are very helpful. P.S. - One other thing: Thank you, thank you, thank you for the way you do not include annoying background music in your videos. That, too, is very helpful.
Hey @fog8969, yep you will be able to do that. On the laptop when you press the Fn key and the key to adjust the display, you can pick the option called Extended Desktop instead of Mirror or Duplicate display : ) Once you do that, you can go into the display settings on your computer and change the position of the monitor to make it appear on the right or left side so you laptop so you can drag items easily to the right or left side onto the monitor. Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words 🙂
@@DemCrumblies Wow, thanks so much, and so quickly, too. What a great channel. .... more ... Hey, I'm also looking at the 34" and comparing with the 32". 100hz rather than 60hz. But I don't know if I really need the difference, since I'm not gaming. I'll have to research the meanings of the other differences and decide whether they matter to me. Big difference is price: $550 for 34" vs. $320 for 32". The difference is $230. For that much difference I could add an extra $90 and get two 32"s, or throw in a Dell 27 Monitor - S2721H with money to spare. Plus, with technology changing, I could save the $230 and put it toward a replacement someday. Thanks again.
Hey@@fog8969 I've been perfectly content with the 60 Hz actually because I don't game with it, so I'd probably just go with the 32". If you got two 32" or the S2721H, you'd have to ensure your laptop can power two displays, especially at 4K resolution.
Hey @fog8969@@fog8969 it's hard to know from those specs because it doesn't mention the graphics card in the laptop and how many display out ports are available on it.
Great review! Is it possible to switch between 2 PCs , instead of both (Picture by picture and picture in picture) at the same time? It would be great to switch between by work and home computer...
Hey Fathmi Jahan, it looks like you can download and install Dell Display Manager to both computers, then you will have options to switch between displays via software instead of using the buttons on the monitor. Here is the link to learn more about Dell Display Manager: www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-ca/000060112/what-is-dell-display-manager#features I haven't used this software before, but I can test this out over the weekend and get back to you in a few days if you like.
Hey @Fathmi Jahan, I just downloaded the Dell Display Manager to my desktop and it allows me to set a keyboard shortcut to switch the input between my laptop and my desktop. You can also change modes like PIP and PBP in the software. It's pretty useful software actually because you can control contrast, brightness, create custom window layouts, etc. from the software. I hope that helps.
@@DemCrumblies Really appreciate you taking a look into it and sharing the update. I finally got the monitor and will try the manager software, Thanks!
Hey Konstantinos, thanks for the heads up. I checked the Dell site and it looks like the MS is variable, so you're right also. This is what I found on the Dell site: Response Time 8 ms (grey-to-grey normal); 5 ms (grey-to-grey fast); 4 ms (grey-to-grey extreme)
Apologies in advance for my tech idiot question here, but would the only way to get your laptop to charge while using this monitor to be to buy a docking station/USB hub? I'd like to find a way to just plug a USB-C cable into my laptop to charge it while using the monitor. Thanks!
I don't think this laptop will be able to provide power to charge your laptop. If you're looking for a monitor to also power your laptop, you'll have to find out how much power your laptop utilizes, then look for a monitor that can output that much power to power your laptop.
Hey, I'm planning to buy this monitor for study and remote work including coding and website building as well as video editing, I think I'm going to use my student discount :D thanks so much for the video!!

I am interested in using this in my young kids' playroom in place of a tv. It would be used specifically for roku ultra video and nintendo mini and sega genesis mini. Will this monitor sync with a roku ultra remote to turn on and off monitor and cycle btwn hdmi?
Hi Michael, this wouldn't be an ideal option since it won't have HDMI CEC functionality. It'll be better to buy a TV with multiple HDMI inputs and CEC functionality.
hi. great review. i just bought this monitor because of you review. it will arrive 4 days from now. but as soon as i bought it i saw a video saying a reason not to buy this monitor. the video shows bars of discoloration at the edges of the screen. so im worried about my monitor. and theres a bunch of people commenting that they also have the same problem also i bought this for my ps5 for casual gaming. is there any way to apply the rtings color profile without having any computer?
I haven't had any issues with discoloration at the edges of my screen so far personally. Regarding the color profile, it'll only apply when connected to your computer since Windows is managing the profile. You'd have to adjust the color manually on the monitor itself if you want to use it with the PS5. One option could be to apply the RTINGS profile when you're on your computer and try to get a feel for the contrast and color temp, then turn off the color profile and try to adjust the monitor settings manually to get it close to what the color profile looked like, then you can use it with those settings on your PS5 and PC without the color profile if that makes sense.
Yea I don't think it does since it's mostly for office use and productivity. Dell also sometimes lists the wrong specs on their site, then updates it with the correct info later. The PS5 can do 120 hz max refresh rate, but you'll be capped to 60 hz with this monitor, so it really is only for casual gaming.

Hello if I want to buy 4k monitor and curved please, recommend me. And what is the bad point of this model? How about color image compare to ultrasharpe model ? Thank.
Hey Leng, what kind of size are you looking to get minimum? For 4K curved monitors, this will do the job is you'll mostly use it for productivity. What kind of use do you want to use it for and what is your budget in USD? The disadvantages of this monitor are: - No USB Type C ports - Average speaker quality (but it does get loud) - No HDR+ Support - Isn't great for gaming Comparing this to the 27" Ultrasharp model, the Ultrasharp will be: - Sharper due to the pixel pitch - Better color accuracy - Has a Type C port - Slightly more adjustable.
Hello i have a request for you , because i just bought that monitor , but i can't find nowhere that color profile you're talking about , there's not in that link you showed only a review , do you know maybe where to find that profile? Thanks

Hi, my main concern is the eye comfort and text clarity. I am a programmer. Can you tell me should I buy this in this date or is there any alternative that you recommend with same price? My second question is can we also turn it to vertical screen? I'll appreciate if you reply and guide me. Thank you
Hi Islamic Interest, I have only reviewed another dell monitor, which is this one: th-cam.com/video/jJf8pJWPwSc/w-d-xo.html but I think this one is sharper. I use this monitor for 4K video editing and graphic design and it's quite sharp. With the current base and stand, it cannot be rotated vertically.
Hi, I have two of these monitors, but I never used PIP or PBP modes. Can you use these modes when two computers are attached only to HDMI ports on the monitor or it has to be DP 1,2 and HDMI? Also, can you connect Mac and Windows PC or Mac and Mac? Another question, is there Dell Display Manager available for MAC? One more: I used to think that Display Port can be extended: you connect your computer to one monitor (pass through monitor)and then connect another monitor of the same kind (I have two same monitors), but this monitor doesn't have Display Port out, like the older Dell monitors have (for example DELL U2518D or U2515H)? So, I assume, each monitor has to be connected to your computer directly without pass through feature of Display Port, which those older moniters have. As I understand Apple and Dell is not friendly, since there is not much support from Dell to Apple devices.
Hey Aistis, I'm pretty sure you can use it either with DP and HDMI or HDMI & HDMI. When I tested it, I had used DP and HDMI though. You can also definitely connect Windows or MAC to use in PBP or PIP, you can also connect a gaming console, blu ray player, etc. The monitor won't care about the input source. I believe Dell Display Manager for Mac is called something different, but you can check this link to get more information about it: www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000191819/dell-display-manager-software-for-mac I didn't actually know about daisy chaining displays, so that's pretty neat if you used it on older monitors before.

Hey Ahmed, I checked the pixel pitch on both monitors, and on the U4021QW, the text should still be as sharp as on this monitor because the pixel pitch is quite similar. The S3221QS has a PPI of 140, and the U4021QW has a PPI of 137. If you already ordered the S3221QS and it's on the way, I would still try it out first to see how well the size suits you. If you find yourself wanting something larger, then you can easily replace it for the U4021QW, since it is quite close in PPI. Btw, what kind of graphics card do you have?
@Dem Crumblies Tech Thanks for your reply. I just use my Microsoft surface laptop 3 for my work and Surface book2 for my personal use. I'm not a gamer at all. So if the ppi is the same on 32inch and 40inch uw screen is the same, I get the same text clarity regardless of the screen size?
@@ahmedtan2003 Hey Ahmed, yep, going by the PPI is usually the first determinant. Thank you for the like and subscribe @bokami3445! That's a great price and it will be a huge step up from your previous displays. I'd give the curve a week or two to adjust, but I adjusted very quickly to and don't really notice it much now unless I'm scrolling horizontally. I also ended up buying a monitor riser to get it even higher and it's been great for my neck, but most people just get monitor arms. Let me know how you find it when you get it and don't forget to download and the apply the RTINGS color profile, I left a link to download it in my video description. Good luck!
Will do and I already have the icc file ready and waiting, again Thanks for drawing "our" attention to that. Read the review and completely missed it first time through. So excited 😀
@@DemCrumblies Well it arrived on Thursday and I must say I'm *extremely* pleased with it. I did notice there are 4 or 5 light bleed areas around the edges of the screen when no signal is detected but they aren't affecting the over all performance when there is a signal. i had problems applying the RTing ICC file... Windows says it's installed but I can''t see any difference. This being said, I was able to get skin tones and colors that I like with the screen controls, so all good on that front. You weren't kidding when you said it would be a step up over the previous monitors... I have a small army of Raspberry PI's, doing everything from router/dns (PIHole), 80Tb NAS, and a smart-home controller... being able to open full screen (80x24 text) windows and no overlapping is such a productivity boost. The long and short of it, I should've done this upgrade a long time ago. Definitely worth the price1
@@bokami3445 Yea good call about the light bleed, I also have some on my monitor near the edges but I also don't find an impact when there's an input connected. I can provide a link for how to set the ICC profile because you still have to pick it for the device profile, but if you already have everything dialed in as you like, then maybe no need to tinker further. You can also try to download Dell's Display Manager software so you can easily switch input sources, colors, use PIP, etc. without using any of the monitor buttons. Glad you're enjoying the increased productivity. How do you find the curve btw?
I haven't used any Mac displays, but for the price of this monitor, I don't think it would come close to the color accuracy of a Mac Display. You'd have to look at something like the Dell UltraSharp 27 4K Monitor - U2723QE for around $750 USD. There's also a new Dell UltraSharp 32 6K Monitor - U3224KB meant to compete with Apple's top offerings, but it costs around $2400 USD.
@@DemCrumblies thank you! By any chance do you know if the volume or brightness keys on the Mac keyboard work with non apple displays when using a Mac mini or Mac Studio?
@@KatM272 I think you'll have to contact Dell Support about that one. The Mac keyboard would connect to the Mac Mini or Mac Studio, which can adjust volume without issue if you have external speakers hooked up to the Mac Mini or Mac Studio. However, I don't know if the Mac Mini or Mac Studio can pass on brightness settings to the Dell monitor. I know has software called Dell Display Manager to adjust brightness and contrast via software, but that is only on Windows systems, so either you'd have to adjust using the monitor buttons, or running Dell Display Manager using a virtual desktop or Parallels software, but it won't be a smooth or quick process, unfortunately. You may be able to find alternative monitor options if you search on TH-cam for Mac Monitor alternatives and check some reviews to see what kind of functionality you can expect to get from them if they aren't native Mac Displays. Wish I could help more, but I don't own any Apple products to test this out.

This is flat, 4K and has an IPS panel. Any advice. Thanks
Hey @paulflogeras2309, this was my first curved monitor and I don't even notice it now actually because it isn't a very extreme curve. The brightness is good enough for my work, mostly video editing, photoshop and blogging, but it's because I'm in a room with white curtains, so sunlight is diffused even on really bright days and I don't have to deal with glare. If you're going to put this near a window or really bright lights, the brightness may be a bit weak. The LG 32UP83A is probably visually better and I love LG displays, but I really do not like their stands for their monitors. The stands look too flimsy for me, but maybe in real world use it isn't an issue.
@@DemCrumblies Thanks. I agree the LG stands aren't the best but I am most likely going to use a monitor arm for more flexibility. Glare shouldn't be an issue for me as I see away from the window. The curve is less concerned but from what I have read I am not a fan of the VA panel and it seems all Dell monitors use them. Right now I am leaning towards the LG. Unfortunately both of these monitors are 60Hz but the LG display seems quite impressive. Thanks
@@paulflogeras2309 Yea Dell's productivity monitors have really lackluster specs most of the time, but I keep buying them because they have been reliable for me and it's easy to deal with Dell support when I need to. LG definitely does a better job with visuals, but yea, a lot of these monitors never go past 60 Hz because they seem to think that users of productivity monitors wouldn't mind some light gaming sometimes.
@DemCrumblies I feel the same way about Dell but find myself almost forcing to choose one of thier 32" productivity monitors. One more question, if I had a choice between a newer 32" 4k LG monitor with 60 Hz or a 32" QHD LG display with 75 Hz (both are IPS panels). What would you choose?

I just rushed to my computer to see if I coulda saved a bunch after reading your comment lol. Turns out I would have saved $30 Canadian if I bought it on Black Friday, so I'm alright with that. If it was $100 or more, it would have stung for sure.
@@JesusRocks26 That converts to around $430 CAD so it's around the same price. Usually the US has way better deals than what we find here, so I always try to buy stuff when I go down to NC if possible. It's still a great price.
@@DemCrumblies U32R590CWR 32
Hey Waldemar, here are the differences I've found. The Dell is overall better for sure.
Curve: 1500R on Samsung & 1800R on Dell - The Samsung will be more curved
Brightness: 250 cd/㎡ on Samsung & 300 cd/㎡ on Dell - The Dell will be slightly brighter
Contrast: 2500:1 on Samsung & 3000:1 on Dell - Better on Dell
Viewing Angle: Same on Both
HDR: Not available on Samsung - Dell has HDR, but not HDR+
The Dell also has speakers, but the Samsung does not. (I would use external speakers anyway)
1800R on dell doesn't means more curve, its less curve. Its curve radius of 1800mm which increased, will be less curved

Is the response time ok for gaming? Is it the same as a tv? Hopefully better?
You can game at between 40 Hz to 60 Hz in occasionally if you're a casual gamer, but if you game a lot or are somewhat competitive and want the best visuals, this is really not ideal for it. The contrast levels won't make games look amazing and if you have a powerful GPU, I'd want a higher refresh monitor to match the FPS. A lot of new TVs are capable of 120 Hz refresh rates and this can only do half of that. It's best suited for productivity or office use, but if you're not too picky and play games that aren't FPS fast-paced action games, it'll still work decent.
Is this ok for watching 4k movies?
I'm looking for a monitor for gaming in 4k and streaming movies in 4k on Netflix, Prime video etc...

Yep, it uses Four VESA mounting holes (100 mm x 100 mm)
@@DemCrumbliesah right got it. Thanks lot brother appreciate all your help. So samsung m7 is a no brainer among the two right?

Or is it still clear
P.S. - One other thing: Thank you, thank you, thank you for the way you do not include annoying background music in your videos. That, too, is very helpful.
Hey @fog8969, yep you will be able to do that. For that much difference I could add an extra $90 and get two 32"s, or throw in a Dell 27 Monitor - S2721H with money to spare. also i bought this for my ps5 for casual gaming. is there any way to apply the rtings color profile without having any computer?
I haven't had any issues with discoloration at the edges of my screen so far personally. Regarding the color profile, it'll only apply when connected to your computer since Windows is managing the profile. You'd have to adjust the color manually on the monitor itself if you want to use it with the PS5. One option could be to apply the RTINGS profile when you're on your computer and try to get a feel for the contrast and color temp, then turn off the color profile and try to adjust the monitor settings manually to get it close to what the color profile looked like, then you can use it with those settings on your PS5 and PC without the color profile if that makes sense.

@@DemCrumblies hi. my monitor arrived today. so far so good. but why does it say that it doesnt support VRR or ALLM when i got o my ps5 settinfg?
Yea I don't think it does since it's mostly for office use and productivity. Dell also sometimes lists the wrong specs on their site, then updates it with the correct info later. Hey Janek, if you go to that link and hit Ctrl + F in your browser, type in the word ICC and it will find that section on the page and there will be a download link in blue next to the ICC Profile text : )
Thx Mate i really appreciate that , i guess im blind :)
@Janek-so7mb No worries, let me know if you need help getting the ICC profile installed, enjoy :)

I believe Dell Display Manager for Mac is called something different, but you can check this link to get more information about it: www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000191819/dell-display-manager-software-for-mac
I didn't actually know about daisy chaining displays, so that's pretty neat if you used it on older monitors before.
Excellent review, I just purchased it on discount for 420$ CAD from Dell Canada.
Glad to hear that! Be sure to use the RTINGS color profile, it makes a world of difference. I left a link to it in the description.
@@DemCrumblies I got it. Thanks ... i have been searching for weeks. Was going to get 5k expensive Dell 40 UW screen but then I changed my mind. I'm an IT professional and doing a lot of meetings, excel sheets, word documents and reading many articles. So the text clarity is so important for me. The thing is, I really did wish to get bigger screen than 32 but I'm afraid of the text clarity. Any advice? dell u4021qw this is the screen that I really wish to get. money is not an issue but again, afraid of the text clarity. I want crisp text.
Thanks
You can check this site, which grades monitors in text clarity, and both monitors in question are in the 9.5 out of 10 range on their list: www.rtings.com/monitor/tests/picture-quality/text-clarity
I don't have much experience with the Surface devices, but as long as it has an HDMI or display port you should be fine to power that resolution for non-gaming activities. If there are no HDMI ports on the Surface devices, you'll need to buy an adapter. Nice review! You cover things that other reviews don't and that's very helpful indeed (ex: height adjustment measurements). Based on your review and Dell's (17/Apr/2024 - Flash sale), I managed $130cnd off and get this monitor for $409cnd (tax inc) (Delivery later today). I'm very much looking forward to upgrading from a 720p (1366x768) Aquos TV (~2011) which died recently and currently using a Lenovo 23" monitor (1920x1080) - THANK YOU (& liked/subscribed)
@@bokami3445 Happy to help : )
Are this monitor better then Samsung Odysse g5 34 inch, for efiting on photoshop?
I don't think it will be better than the G5 34". Keep in mind that the G5 is not a 4K monitor and is more suited for gaming.
Is it similar to a Mac display? Looking for alternatives
Please i need help, what is the actual weight of this monitor shipping? On Dell website, it's 33lbs but on Amazon it's 16lbs. I want to buy from Dell because it's cheaper, but this weight difference is too huge for me😢
It's 33 lbs shipping weight for sure, I remember it being pretty heavy.
@@DemCrumblies bro it will cost me more than $205 just to import this to my country
This is crazy 😧, being in Nigeria is crazy
@@chinonsopromise4962 Yea, it's a really really heavy monitor considering the size, most of the weight comes from the heavy and wide metal base. I've bought it bro, how can I use the icc profile ?
@@chinonsopromise4962 Hey follow the steps in this link if you have a Windows computer: pcmonitors.info/articles/using-icc-profiles-in-windows/
I think this has VESA mounting capabilities, right? But I don't if I will be use it if I have a universal mount, which is capable of being used with 75 and 100mm mounts. Because the mounting part on the monitor is lowered inside the monitor. I hope you understand what I mean.
Hey Farhad, I understand what you mean about the mounting area being recessed. Here is what I found online from Dell:
Removable stand and Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA™) 100 mm mounting holes for flexible mounting solutions. Four VESA mounting holes (100 mm x 100 mm) accessible behind the VESA cover used for wall mounting the monitor through a VESA-compatible wall mount kit.

@@DemCrumblies okay, thanks
Great video. I too am getting to that point where I have done a lot of research and I need to decide on a monitor. I like Dell but I am concerned about two things, the curve and the VA panel. I will be using it for everyday office work and Graphic design in photoshop and illustrator (are you happy with the colors and brightness). Another monitor I am considering is LG 32UP83A.
Does it have full HDR support?
Dell just states standard HDR, but it's nothing standout, so if you're looking to consume lots of HDR content, I wouldn't recommend this monitor.
@@DemCrumblies Yes, I see the specs, but in Windows HD Color settings, Display capabilities - Use HDR it's Yes or No? Windows it's see it like a HDR compatible or not? Thanks!
