James Casey is a national treasure. The fact that he is up there singing and playing his heart out after a three-year-and-counting-long cancer treatment makes me speechless. The man must be exhausted. I really hope this is more of a "I need to do this for my sanity" situation and not a "I need to do this for the money" situation for him. Either way, I admire him so damn much. I can't even imagine what he must be going through emotionally and physically.
James on Dear Prudence... and the first verse of Help.... What a beautiful human. Was late to the bus but he got w the program & put his own special sauce on thangz whenever tapped. DAMN. My heart aches. Rest Up Big Homie

no she's from Trey's band TAB, etc. Jennifer Hartswick I believe. Amy helm would be great too, just saw her at roots rock revival ie music camp in catskills!
There is an episode of Dharma and Greg where Greg's new boss is unable to tell the obvious difference between two things, one is incandescently better than the other, yet the boss can not discern that fact no matter how plain and simple the difference. It drives Greg nuts ...as it would anyone with a functioning brain. That's how many Grateful Dead fans feel about clueless dead and company fans.
Because everyone who's smart knows it simply isn't possible to like more than one thing. Ha! Imagine liking something, and then also liking something else that is distinct from that first thing. Unfathomable!
@@kaysliving I agree to some of us it's only been good that the music is being heard by so many newbies who'll go back and listen to the "Primal Era" forward and get to know the roots of the story....it's a long Wonderful trip! Happy Birthday Jerry!!!!!!!!!!
Lol. Last time i checked no one makes you choose one? Also, nice ego trip to be on regarding consuming dead co, or any dead music played by surviving members... you can't like it cuz its not the tempo YOU want or YOU need it to br to satisfy YOUR expectations? Apparently, the WHOLE POINT of what GD music was supposed to teach us is lost on "fans" like what you sound like. Admit it, its not about not liking the music anyways. Its about being prejudiced against certain players Besides, ya'll are jacking off over this playing and this show... lol. I dig it, i love seeing phil do this... but if you think this is way better than dead co, you kinda seem tard. . Or just easily excitable, we'll go with that
R.I.P. James Casey, just came here to revisit the last time I witnessed this powerful musician.

Phil knows the correct tempo for this music.
You and I and thousands of other Grateful Dead fans do as well. It's So much better! Just like it should be...

That gal really belted out Scarlet Begonias! Maybe the BEST rendition by anybody I've ever heard. Fantastic!

First time I’ve heard this. I’m outside shooting a bow and trying to take my mind off things.
First Comment OK We Want Phil We Want Phil We Want Phil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
18:35! See! THAT's how it should be. Dynamic!
RIP Phil
As usual…MORE PHIL!!! MORE PHIL!!! MORE PHIL!!! I don’t think I’ve met the show, yet, where I thought Phil was too high in the mix.
I was there too !
I was there
Looked like there was a lot of sausage there, but still very fun.
I was there 3.
I intentionally hit at least 3 fuschia balloons as well. Good times!!!!!!!!🎉😊❤
43:00 with James on “Dear Prudence” 😢
Any Phil songs?....sheesh!!
RIP James Casey
Is the Amy Helm?
no she's from Trey's band TAB, etc. Jennifer Hartswick I believe. Amy helm would be great too, just saw her at roots rock revival ie music camp in catskills!
Someone is rocking there colors bottom right, I know some of the boys wouldnt be to impressed by that move.
China Cat > Rider's great, but why not cover Promontory Rider too? Well, I've never! Sadly...
Core 4 next year w dylan
The tempo, energy, dynamics and cohesiveness is so much better than that the band.
Expensive cover band

TOTALLY Agree....it's Over Finally!

at a core level you just can't believe people can like D&C

Sorry, could not listen for long.
I agree, I was there with my wife and it was terrible. We wound up leaving early. Last time I got to see Phil so I’m glad I went.
What a train wreck..
Hells Angels checking out Phil. Just like the old days when they handled “security” at the shows. 🍻
and drive their HARLEYS right into the back stage area
Fabulous Rider!!!
