Another great game to start your Xbox collection would be Psychonauts. It's a hidden gem turned cult classic, and I think you'd really enjoy it Billy.

I am a RPG fan that is the way RPGs go start out leveling it gets good with a time you put in pays off with new abilities etc...
Just got home from goodwill where I got an OG xbox with 2 controllers for 38 bucks and was feeling pretty good about it. Then youtube recommends me this video ... thanks youtube, make me feel bad why don't ya?

I got my xbox when i was 9 and I absolutely loved it. Im about to be 26, its hard to believe the system came out that long ago.

Shortly after it's release, I traded my original Xbox for a Gameboy Advance SP. My friends laughed back then. I still play that GBA SP. Never missed my Xbox.

Great video guys. Billy I was exactly like you bro. Grew up and focused on the PS2 and Gamecube and maybe gave the original Xbox a look but never invested into it. I remember back in Military Training School I had a GC in my dorm room back in 2002 and was playing Metroid Prime. My roommate had an original Xbox with Halo 1 and we would play split screen. That's when I got interested in the Xbox. Once I got married I picked one up for myself with a copy of Halo 1 and Crimson Skies and slowly appreciated and invested into the console. Sure the original huge controller (The Duke) was huge but you can now get smaller controllers for it.
Some great games I would recommend bro are; SW: KOTOR 1 and 2 (duh, it's what your video was about), Jade Empire, MechAssault 1 and 2, Halo 1 and 2, Fable and/or Fable: The Lost Chapters, Crimson Skies, Links 2004 (trust me bro, one of the best golf games I ever played but I am also a golf fan so I may be bias), Chronicles of Riddick, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Kingdom Under Fire 1 and 2, Phantom Dust, Soul Calibur II (you can play as Spawn), and Unreal 1 and 2.
I too try my best to stick with Xbox exclusives. Similar to Jay I am a "Sony FanBoy" so if the game came on multiple consoles, I will favor it on PS2 over Xbox. But just like you as well, if the game is stupidly high priced on the PS2 but much cheaper on Original Xbox, I will go that route as well.
Sorry this was a long post bro. Even thou this was a short mini episode from you guys, all your comments between you and Melvor hit home and I am able to truly relate with you guys.

KOTOR and KOTOR II are some of the greatest games ive ever played. They are fucking terrific.
Man I loved the xbox, thats what got me back into gaming after the ps1. Waited until they retailed at 130€ and chipped it right away. Tons of great games.
Oh, it was also the reason I dropped out of school :P... again...
I really like this episode. The whole story behind the reason to buy it. I would like if your full episode was more focused on few centric objects which got highlighted and you talk about. Especially if it has a nostalgic factor.
I got an Xbox for Christmas in 2006. I mainly wanted to play Halo 1 and 2. But have also tried other games too since then. I only have about 20 games for it. I still like to look for hidden gems and exclusives.

Same never had my own OG xbox at the time, but it's probably one of the best, if not the best couch co-op system ever with halo, DOA"s and the such.
Game Chasers should do a reverse yard sale. Advertise everyone in the area to bring the games they want to sell to your front yard on a weekend.
That's a really good game.
If the tray is sticking on the XBOX just take the rubber pulley off you'll see it with the tray open, clean it and put it back on and that'll fix that, those things dry out/get dusty and slip causes the tray to sometimes not open until you give it a little tap.
It's crazy that Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 were on sale on steam not too long ago. I have my PC hooked up to my tv and if I want that console feel I just plug in my favorite controller :D
I've recently started to get into the original Xbox scene, got myself KOTOR, Republic Commando, Outrun 2, Crazy Taxi 3, Psychonauts, Shenmue 2 and Halo
Original Xbox is bloody brilliant
My brother used to have a modded original Xbox so i did play allot of great games on it. Some of my favorites that i played on it are Conker: Live and Reloaded, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Burnout Revenge and Black. Got myself a used Xbox and decent collection of games back in 2015. Got both the system and the games relatively cheap.
I didn't get an Original Xbox until after the 360 had come out and I found one with a modchip in a goodwill for $30. Removed the ancient modchip after I softmodded it, replaced the chewing gum like thermal paste, and swapped the crappy Thomson DVD drive for a Samsung unit, installed a 80GB HDD, and put it in a clear red XCM case. Still have it too. But that generation I was exclusively a Gamecube guy at home, at friend's houses it was Xbox LAN parties. I also have a modded PS2 now with a 40GB HDD added, and I guess you can say my Wii is just I highly modified Gamecube, has a drive-modchip.
Sega made a ton of exclusives for it. Panzer Dragoon Jet Set Shenmue 2. It pretty much was a Dreamcast 2.

I completely missed the Xbox also. Was always into PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast at the time. Of course, in order to play Shenmue II and KOTOR I broke down and bought one about a year ago. Glad to have it now even though I don't play it often, everything for it is super cheap right now.
I felt the exact same way about Knights of the old Republic back then. And kinda felt that way about it recently as well, but i didn't play it long enough. Hard to get into an xbox or ps2 RPG these days when there's 4k 60FPS rpg games that come out now. Its one of those games thats in between retro and not retro enough.

The only game I remember wanting to play on Xbox was Knights of the Old Republic, but I got it on PC so I was content with my PS2 and Gamecube.

Honestly, I liked the large controller, and also loved conker on Xbox, didn't mind the censorship in favor of playing the game with ANYTHING but the N64 controller. Great video btw

Knights of old republic is a dope game but yeah like alot of rpgs you have to give it more of a chance and take the time to get into it

You can play the KOTOR titles on the 360. They're part of the slim library of backwards compatible original Xbox games.
Though $10 for an original Xbox is a screaming deal.
There are so many damn good Xbox games; tons of great Sega games like Shenmue II, JSRF, Gunvalkyrie, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Toe Jam and Earl III, OutRun2, Phantasy Star Online (you'll need to copy a gamertag to the hard drive to play offline), and tons more.
Can't go wrong with the original Xbox and KotoR, amazing game with a superb storyline and character.. Enjoy :)

Kotor on PC is the best way to play if possible, there was DLC for the first one (additional planet) that you can no longer get for the Xbox, I know because I have the Xbox version and I wish I had downloaded the file.
and Fable. I'm pretty sure they have remastered versions. But as not an RPG fan, I loved Fable. Xbox was the first console that I bought as a teen with my own money from my own job and I played it for 10+ years until it died (honestly, only because Walmart was put of PS2 at the time). It'll always have a special place for me.
The original XBox was a beast... performancewise. So there are games that run better on the XBox than on PS2 actually. So, good pickup!
Nice guy charged buddy price :) They have plenty of cool games for the Xbox and a lot of mech games and stuff like that because microsoft was trying to appeal to the Japanese market. You should get Steel Battalion and that whole set up haha.

All the Star Wars games are backwards compatible on the 360, if the unit fails. Grats on finding another system to collect for Billy yeaih!

KOTOR is by far the best star wars game ever made and it is so amazing it inspired Bioware to create Mass Effect.
The xbox was such a damn good console. That was my young teenage years right there! It has a vast library of good games and the coolest thing about it now is that original xbox games are dirt cheap! I got chronicles of riddick: butchers bay one time at gamestop for like 3 dollars and that thing is an underrated very good game.
The smaller controller was the japanese version. The NA version was the big one because we had "bigger hands"
The duke was the only controller that fit my hands well. Don't blame other because all you have child hands.
