Do you know what is interesting??? Christians did not leave the Church, it was the Jews who left. So that means that the Orthodox Christian Church is the original Church of the Old and New Testament. Dr. Jeanie also spoke about how the Jews were supposed to roast their lamb on Passover... the lamb had to be standing up with the front legs spread out... as if it were crucified. And Yet, the Jews have not realized that their passover lamb was in Crucifixion position which is how their temple says they must roast it. Amazing stuff. I love Dr. Jeanie Constantinou. I met her about 6 years ago. Her and her husband Father Kosta... Great people.

The selected series blends facts with fiction, making it difficult to distinguish between reality and invention. Given the extent of creative liberties taken to fill gaps, I'd advise steering clear of it. Just as adding a bit of dirt to clear water spoils the entire container, the mixing of truth and fabrication tarnishes the whole series.

    Easter
Shattered at the break of day
    all broken was the seal
    Empty was his resting place
    where Mary came to kneel
    Scattered were the weapons
    One hundred soldiers fled
What on earth had happened here
to bring the world such dread
    Mary came to wonder
    and wandered near the flowers
    weeping for her master
for what had seemed like hours
    Then a voice so lovely
    had caused her to recall
She recognized the sound of it
    It was the master's call
    Weeping by the fountain
    within the garden green
He touched her with his wounded hand
    that Mary must have seen
and with the mantle of her hair
    He wiped away her tears
a perfect love had touched her
    and drove away her fears
    Magdalene was first to find
    the Resurrected king
    as power and Dominion
    Into the world she'd sing

It appears the Church has become corrupt just like the Temple was... Unannointed leaders. Soon, the Second Coming will align with Jesus earthly walk to cleans the Temple to removing true believers before King Jesus comes to establish His earthly Kingdom thru His wrath to remove those unbelievers left behind. The Tribulation of seven years is the last chance for the two prophets and the 144000 witnesses to lift the vale of unbelief of the remnant of Jews still alive to believe in the Risen Christ...The King of Glory !

For those who are interested today is Holy Monday for the Eastern Orthodox . I’m a convert to Orthodoxy of over 20 years and proceeding through Holy Week’s services struck me like a lightening bolt all those years ago.and does every year .If you are able to attend the evening services this week in a nearby parish and then the three on Good Friday and the two services on Saturday all that was discussed and so much more will be laid out for you with a clarity that will astound you . If you are humble of heart and yearn for the truth that is. The church has been leading the faithful through this for centuries…

Eugenia, why does it take you to finally present the story as you do and as it should be told? It seems it takes a lawyer to bring Jesus home to us, just as it took a lawyer (Philip E. I found it interesting about Isaac being a type of Christ. But also, Dr W.L. Wilson M.D., D.D., LH.D., in his Dictionary of Bible Types also presented Isaac as a type of sinner:
"He is also a type of the sinner who should be punished for his sins but who finds a substitute in the Lord JESUS, represented by the ram caught in the thicket."
Of which it shows Christ as that lamb which was slain for our sing.

The only one was like the High Priest of God was Melchizedek, no other was a type of Christ like you think even if this lady is saying that Isaac was a type of Christ. Abraham knew that God would provide an animal. He told Isaac God will provide. So Isaac trusted his father. And God did provide a sacrifice which was his son Jesus. God was showing Abraham ahead of his time that Jesus was going to be the savior of all sinners. Remember what Jesus said in John gospel, he said that Abraham rejoice that he would see his day, he saw it and was glad. John 8:56

This book moved me on so many fronts. I think academic Protestants have long been hijacked by 19th Century German "scholarship" and they "assume" that it (the so-called scholarship) is true. This book freed me from the last vestiges of that nonsense. I came to understand the amazing economic engine of the temple for Jerusalem. Settled religion and is analogous to settled science. Both concepts are corrupt, going all the way back to the First Century. This book actually took me back to the real-time unfolding of the events.

One thing I will mention is that I do not appreciate the flak given to those in attendance of Protestant denominations church by claiming they don’t take church history into account. As a someone who serves in many ministries in a Slavic American Pentecostal church, I would say many of us take history and context into account when studying the word of God. It is still on the uncommon side overall, but it is also very common in my circles.

As a Jehovah's witness I heard nothing new from this woman. I have been taught all this almost from beginning.
And judging by comments below most people are indeed walking in the darkness.

Many Protestants maybe did and do miss the Jewish (and Patristic) background, but check out Calvin and others who were scholars as well as pastors...they knew a lot of the traditions.

What about the fact that our Grk Orthodox Church NEVER TEACHES SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST ALONE WITHOUT THE MEDIATION OF MARY THE MOTHER OF JESUS?! WHY DO WE PRAY TO DEAD POEPLE WHOM WE CALL SAINTS? WHY THE HEART OF THE MESSAGE IS NEVER HEARD IN OUR CHURCHES??!!… ERIC, PLEASE ASK HER HOW WE CAN BE SAVED AND BE SURE OF OUR ETERNAL DESTINY IN HEAVEN OR IN HELL?!

Dear Dr Konstantinou, you are telling a lot about history. You are giving us a commentary but NOT THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN. TALK ABOUT THE WAY OF SALVATION! ERIC, YOU KEEP PRAISING HER ABOUT HOW SHE WROTE THIS BOOK BUTYOU ALL WORDS AN MISSING THE WHOLE POINT OF THE BIBLE!

      @@anastasiaburr3959 ,
For me, as an Orthodox Christian, it's very moving to hear the Orthodox Church proclaim the "why" of Jesus's death every year during Pascha-the Easter service. At this service, and at every service for the next 40 days, we very clearly articulate why Jesus died: "... to trample down death by death ..." with the result that "... to those in the tombs he has granted life."
Also, though you will hear Orthodox Christians say things like, "Most holy Theotokos, save us," they don't mean that Mary is a co-Redemptrix. The word "save" in Greek has a much broader meaning than in English. What Orthodox Christians mean is that they hope she prays for them as any Christian would pray for a friend. Additionally, the saints aren't "dead." Orthodox Christians believe that the saints are in "in Christ," and since Christ isn't dead (he's alive), neither are the saints dead (they're also alive!) which means we don't ask any dead person to pray for us. In short, Orthodox Christians believe that Jesus is the only savior.

What does it mean to know Jesus?

    • @harpin4God
      @harpin4God ปีที่แล้ว +2

I’ll try to answer your question from a personal perspective. My experience with religion growing up was the Christian science church. I found so many faults in that by the time I was 18 I left. I never picked up any other organized type religion. This was in the 60s and there was a lot of searching for answers by my generation and they were looking in all kinds of directions as you can imagine from those days. Nothing seemed to fulfill any of those existential questions I had And God was not anything to me, but what I intrinsically felt was the Creator.
In 1969 after returning home from Vietnam, I met some young people like myself who were experiencing a spiritual personal revival. When I learned that they were talking about a personal relationship with Jesus, I knew in my heart, that this was what I had been looking for. I literally prayed and asked God to forgive me for all the crud (sin) that I sensed God was not pleased with, and he forgave me and changed my life in a very miraculous way. That was when I could say I came to “know” Jesus.
      Hope that helped.

I read the book after listening to this interview. Although well written and researched, I was shocked to read that the author believes Christ died on the cross for love and not so we might be forgiven. From Genesis to Revelation, we read of God's plan for redemption. John said, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." To deny this fact is to belittle the cross.

Have any of you watching this video made any judgments as to the similarities of how the Jewish leaders had such hatred for Jesus, and how they GATHERED PEOPLE TOGETHER to become a 'mob', and how that scene is reminiscent of what's going on in America? How college kids are being used to act as a 'mob' whenever the PTB decides when and where to make a scene?

This interview was very interesting. I have a question. I haven't read the book yet but plan to. Does it really say that the scourging broke a rib on Jesus? Made me wonder some since Scripture emphasizes no bones were broken.

Fascinating smaller details both about about St. John being buried in priestly vestments, and also the High Priest not being allowed to publicly mourn- and yet Caiaphas tears his garment when Jesus says He is the Son of Man prophesies in Daniel (coming on the clouds).

52:21 I HAD to stop here and comment!!! It makes sense that John may have been a priest, because he was the only one of the disciples who wasn't murdered. He was marooned on the island of Patmos where he wrote the Book of the Revelation...And James, his brother, was killed by Herod Agrippa after James led one of Agrippa's men to Christ. I'm speculating that Herod couldn't handle this news of the conversion and had them both beheaded. AND I'm also guessing that Herod was the ONLY ONE who had the authority to kill one of his men AND a priest...
Let me continue listening to this lecture and buy the book! This is all so fascinating!

As you are discussing the Roman and Sanhedrin trials, it strikes me that in both parties being responsible for this, is a coming together of Gentile and Jewish peoples in being responsible for Jesus' death and it is the sins of both for whom Jesus laid down his life. Ultimately, however, Isaiah teaches us that God was pleased to put His Son to death to accomplish salvation for us. So, while Jews and Gentiles were equally guilty in putting Jesus to death, Jesus laid His life down willingly in accordance with the plan from eternity past.

16:31 Glad for the admission of the Protestant disconnect from the early church, but the problem is that that won’t change just because Protestants learn a little more about church history pre-reformation. Protestantism, especially today, is built on a disconnect from Holy Tradition, the Saints, the Church, which ultimately is the Body of Christ on earth. You have to go all the way and unite yourself to the Body that Christ established and has preserved ever since, which is not any of the myriad of Protestant groups, whether in the 1500’s or today.
(This is coming from a former evangelical).
