Now all we need is a proper remaster on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Or better yet the long awaited sequel to New Vegas.
Great video man! Wife and I are playing New Vegas on the Series X on a 4K OLED tv and it still feels noticeably different and is a better experience than when we had on the Xbox One X with our previous tv. Still holding out hope for a remake/ remaster of this masterpiece.
Thanks! NV on OLED; the best example of the old and new working together :) besides visual quality, the other good thing about new TV's is they normally have lower latency, which means the game control feels sharper.

I cant get enough of Fallout/Elder Scrolls content, I enjoyed the vid. I'm currently downloading the Begin Again - Tale of Two Wastelands modlist, I cant wait to get stuck in.
Great video, as always! Hopefully New Vegas will one day receive a graphics patch like Fallout 3 has. Either way the smooth FPS on series X is a wonderful addition. Keep up the great work!

@@mattia934 Unfortunately not. 60fps only on Series X and (I presume) Series S - due to FPS Boost.
Unfortunately it won’t, because the game is too buggy to up the resolution.

Currently playing Fallout 3 on Series S and textures look really good and the resolution as well, it's a shame it's not the same for FNV which is my favorite one.

Yep, agreed. It is a big shame it never got the same upgrades as F3.
What are you guys talking about?. I play FNV in my seriesX and my Neo QLEDQN86C from Samsung in upscaled 4k 60 fps, looks absolutely amazing.
@@ADISTOD3MUS Good point - the new TV's can do a lot of stuff to the image to improve graphics. I play FNV on XBSX with my LG C2 and it looks smoother. But, it is just that Fallout 3 received a graphics upgrade from the Microsoft back compat. team in 2017 and it makes a big difference. But NV did not get this same upgrade :(
@@ADISTOD3MUSwhat are YOU talking about? Fallout nv looks like hotdog water even on the series x. The only thing good about it is the fps boost but other than that the resolution stays at 720p…

Thanks! Yes, I agree, the VO was not so great. I’ve learned a bunch about voice recording, filters and editing since that video and I got an audio technica mic. So newer vids sound better! 👍

I downloaded fallout 3 on series x and it looks amazing, it’s a shame they didn’t do that for new Vegas because I want to play it so bad but can’t get past the horrible graphics
I 100% agree. The difference in texture quality between F3 and FNV when played on the Series X is hard to ignore.
It’s funny you showed the little puppet from “the legend of the star“ quest line where you have to collect 50 Sunset Sasparilla bottle caps and it was the only achievement I was missing aside from a hard-core play through and a few miscellaneous ones like GRA, challenges and Getting a certain amount of damage with melee weapons.. but it’s funny because I literally just completed that quest the other day and I thought it was gonna take me forever when I read the requirements and then I looked in my inventory having put in 360 hours into the game, and I already had 45 of the caps and only had to find five more which took me literally 15 minutes!!
(looking at a guide and looking up with the first three locations that I went to in the guide had a cap and then the next two did not but the next two after that on the list did, and I have basically all the difficult achievements, except for hard-core!)
Yes, that was a fun quest. I think I was like you, got most of them just playing thru the game and used a guide to collect the last few.
They didn’t write the quest to be creepy but I did find that puppet super creepy… and they never explained how new sunset sarsaparilla got distributed throughout the Mojave!!!

I think now MS owns this IP they should remaster F3 and NV just adding HD textures, 60 fps, some mods to add optional features like realistic combat/damage, no vats, new weapons, enemies and few new locations.

I am really enjoying Fallout 3 and New Vegas on XSX (althought NV could use a little more optimization, like better visuals), but Fallout 4 is like it was created to play only on PC with mods. Cannot play without Sim Settlements 2 mod as well as other weapon and story mods out there.
Yes, NV is in need of an update. Even modding the pc version is a chore. Not tried Sim Settlement mod. I’m back into F4 so will check it out! Cheers.
So im finding it hard to find any information.does anyone know if new vegas is now 4k on series x? I could swear i read thst it was now and currently playing looks pretty sharp but im just not sure
It would be great if it was but I know Xbox stopped its back-compat conversion program a couple of years ago.

Its still 720p but given the recent Fallout fanfare and how heavily the show takes lore from new vegas into its own story we can hope they update the game sometime down the road and just boost the resolution.
I don't even own an XBOX, I play on PC but I really enjoy watching these awesome videos :)

You can in fact get 60 FPS on Xbox One X, as long as you have Xbox Gamepass Ultimate, so that you can play it with cloud gaming. Even though it does rarely get some visual issues, overall it works great. (And that should also enable you to play Fallout New vegas - at 60 fps - on mobile as well)😊
Awesome. Thanks for letting me know. Normally my eyes glaze over whenever I see a ‘cloud gaming’ icon on my Xbox but New Vegas does look to offer this. I will definitely try it out. Might even see if I can get some good fps / frame-timing measurements to put into a short video.

@@ramnexusThat would be great! It works for both Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3. Oh and I’ve tested it and it’s also 60 fps and shorter load times with cloud gaming on all Fallout games on Xbox. Its pretty great, despite the odd visual issues that seem to happen rarely and the visibly lower resolution. The visual issues only seem to be present on xbox though and not on mobile. It’s worth it for 60 fps though.
Hey guys, not expecting a reply but here’s hoping, is there a big enough gap in quality between the series s and series x to choose the x. I have a chance to get the series s for less than £100 from a friend so it’s a great opportunity but want the best experience on new vegas. Any replies would be amazing!
I didn’t own a Series S when I made this video. But I know the Series S does support “fps boost” so fps will be up to 60hz.
As shown in the video there is no difference at all in graphics quality between consoles. So Fallout NV on Series S and X will look the same. Cheers.
When i played i thought New Vegas on Series X had 16x AF? Ill check again, could be imaging it
Yes I think it does. I’ve been reading up more on the back compat program for an upcoming Oblivion video and I think all 360 games that were made playable on the Xbox One had 16x AF. 👍
@@ramnexuswonder why fallout 3 is not listed as 4K on the xbox website? Maybe they lowered to something like 1800p to accommodate the fps boost
@@PlasticSorcererTheOriginal I found out after making the video that the game does run at 4K on Series X but 1440p on Series S. Oblivion does run @1800p on Series X - I’m knee-deep editing my Oblivion video today!!
@ramnexus tried to post a link here, didn't work, but if you type in "oblivion 16x af xbox series x" you'll find a forum where it shows its one of the few games that had that feature cut

You mean the one that makes them explode? IIRC that’s actually the result of a high level energy weapons perk. Can’t recall its name. It is very effective :)

The frames alone make the X version of new vegas feel like a remake to me. I also feel like it crashes less on the X, but that could be head cannon.
Yep, that frame-rate bump is the biggest improvement New Vegas got, and it does make it so smooth!

Hmmm... i've been jumping back and forth between NV and 3 for the past few weeks on my Xbox Series X, and really they look very similar graphically to me. Maybe my tv just sucks LOL. But seriously, they both look outstanding.
You make a good point: the quality of the TV we use is not really discussed when talking game visual quality. I know I spent a bunch of time playing with settings when I got my new TV (LG C1) a couple of years ago and was a bit surprised how much it improved the look of NV.
In case you're interested, the best way to see the improvements made to F3 is to turn the enhanced mode off. I put instructions on how to do this in the Fallout 3 and Oblivion videos. I remember first doing this in Rivet City and thinking "OK now I can see the changes". Cheers!

FNV shows how AAA game design peaked about a dozen years ago . Today's games are better technically and have better graphics and performance, but the design has moved backwards if anything. FNV is every feature, every game system you could want, and it all fits together in an immersive world.
All of their time is consumed with graphics. That's the problem with today's development circus.
Ohhhhhh......so my Internet went out, wo i tried to play the one good game i have on disk, for Xbox-1x, but didn't know it would attempt to download online...that *sucks* ...i fkn HATE that!! Feels a little like stealing honestly, unless it *clearly* says something to that effect on the outside case..? Even then, just an AWFUL policy. If i wanna move out to the woods, maybe after a *nuclear war* , or whatever...& play a game I BOUGHT A PHYSICAL COPY OF, & there's obviously no gd internet, tyen i should be able to....F Bethesda/Microsoft

New Vegas is my fav game of the series I wish the boosted it like fallout 3. Why did they neglect it?
I'm not sure any reason has been given. Not heard of one anyway. Maybe it didn't sell as well as Fallout 3? To put it in perspective; of the 600 Xbox 360 games that were made backwards-compatible only 40 were given the Xbox One X-enhanced mode which Fallout 3 and Oblivion got, the rest (including FNV) just looked the same on the new consoles.

None of this is really surprising. New Vegas is a much more broken and buggy mess right down to the framerate hitching every 59 frames. There’s a reason you need mods to fix most of these issues on PC.
