  • Fairly easy repair vid for the rear sway bar links of the P3 Volvo XC70. Pretty much everything else is different on the rear suspension of these compared to other Volvos, not sure if the others have the same sway bar link setup or not. Thanks for watching!

From Santiago, Chile, I would like to say thank you for your video. I have a 2011 XC60 D5 AWD with 220K km, and I need to replace the rear sway bar links, and this video was perfect for me!

Good job. Thank you. I know it’s not easy filming and doing the job.

Hi Andrew. Any idea what the torque settings should be for each end? Or where to find that info? It seems impossible to find!

You have to jack both sides up to release the tension in sway bars. At 3.10 I was really worried..

It is mot that much in the back as in the front

Some good rachet-wrenches would be a great investment if you plan on doing more work. Good luck with the channel.

I am also chasing a BAD rear suspension squeak. It seems to get really bad and then goes away and then starts up gradually until it's awful and then stops again. The car barely has to move up and down to make it squeak. I see you have been changing many parts. Did you finally get it sorted?

Check the front bushings in the trailing-arms (way up under the plastic covers). They deteriorate (rubber separates from steel) and the movement allows the arm to grind against a bracket for the brake hose. Will also cause poor handling.

@@skalmanaberg I think this may be my problem. Doesn't look like something I want to try on my back in the driveway. How about you, Andrew Shay? I really like how you do everything with simple tools in your driveway.

ended up being control arm bushings! the main one, only able to get it done at a volvo dealership where I'm located as no one else had the press to get this specific one out

I'm probably going to end up lowering this at some point, so if she's a little wobbly I might find something beefier

Using a pry bar is not the right approach. The correct way is to jack up the hub.
