Tell him to Stick his finger in a light socket and he would be lively but that's not what you said lol sorry my sense of humor hasn't been right lately lol
With that overhead clearance you have I would hook a cable to that jackhammer up to a pulley and back down to a counterbalance.. it would take a bunch of load off that thing and you'd probably be able to work it longer
Good idea, but the the way he's chiseling , he's letting the weight of the tool do most of the hammer work. If he takes the weight away, it may end up being more work?
Definitely. Pulling that thing up after driving it into the ground is 80% of the work. It weighs 35 to 40 pounds approx., literally like working out at the gym with weights, except in the gym you do quick sets. A miner will dig all day long!!!
I had a wide man tell me one time when I was shoveling dirt for him. He said and I quote " if you fill up the back of the shovel, the front of the shovel will take care of its self" your do I g a great job 👦
Jeff, that mine is probably the coolest, most sofisticated and productive one man operation in the history of mining. In fact, you could drop a deuce in a bucket and pick the nuggets out of it and it would still be cool. Oh wait...You already do that!
Jeff you and Slim officially have my first separate folder for you and team, for download videos! Being able to review and get educated ,while I'm off grid ,priceless information when exploring the hundreds and hundreds of undocumented mines here at high altitude in CO. And being able to see if it's worth getting the claim,Thanks again, you probably will save me alot and my maybe my life in the years to come watching you videos, Thank you
Hey Jeff, can you show us the other side of the operation as well - the above ground workings as well as how you process the material that contains the smaller gold.
If you watch the older videos you can see his/the processing. Many other Utubers have had claims abused (Dan Hurd, NuggetShooter, AMRA, ect.) From "POS's" that figured out locations from scenery, or GPS data on clip.. & then broke the law... Best to enjoy & think of it as Wonka's Chocolate Factory.... with smaller golden eggs.... Lol
That dukes of hazard intro was so freaking awesome my daughter and I were laughing for a few minutes! Man I’ll come muck dirt for you I just want some of those beans you are always making for pay lol , thanks for the awesome videos you put out good luck down there.
Great video, Jeff! You're a hard worker and a brilliant geologist. For the life of me I can't figure out anyone who would thumb down your videos. What are they objecting to exactly? No one makes them watch!
There once was a man from Nantucket, he chiseled his stone just to muck it. He says with a grin, with beans on his chin, drop them pants booooy! Not the kinda guy you wanna go camping with....
Could you put in a lag-screw eye bolt into the overhead rock, or build a wooden or steel frame to attach an overhead eye, and then rig a rope tied to the jackhammer on one end, run it up through a pulley block attached to the eye, and to a counterweight on the other end? I could hear your back screaming from here!
HAHAHA I lost it when you found out it was a peice of metal "REALLY?!?gotta be kidding me, CONNNN!". At least you covered the amount of frustration for the rest of us. Great video & yeah let us at it, blindfold ready
Doing a great job on the mine. You and Allan are the best. I watch all your videos wish I could work with you guys for a day to get some knowledge. Be safe and keep the videos coming.
Id help in a heart beat jeff!! I been digging holes all my life!!! Im young and my back is strong!!! Haha love the videos!!! Your a legend my friend!! 90% of my knowledge came from you=)
One thing that you might could try is getting a quarter inch thick piece of slick plastic like the liners on belt semi trailers or maybe even a conveyor belt. Put it on the ground where you’re going to drill so all the material falls onto it so it’s a little slicker or easier to shovel. That’s a good looking though. It’s fun to watch.
Hello friend Jeff Williams!, you worked very hard and did not have time to eat your spinach (canned beans). I see that you are detecting with a ring on a finger and a bracelet on your wrist, when the detector started to sound I thought it was a gold nugget, but it was your clothes that activated it. In my case I have used a detector and I have found everything, if nothing is achieved it is due to laziness. With a pinpointer it would have been a little easier to recognize the wire. Greetings from Caracas Venezuela.
Yeah. Wish I had taken a photo of a friend's property when I could. Some interesting ground levels in Virginia City NV. Maybe one of these days I'll still be able to. You have your typical lines that they hunted for. But also looks like it has dried out ancient hot springs layer. Then you have the usual decomposing deposits of granite and some limonite deposits.
Jeff...if you make a small ledge on each side of the area your using the jackhammer (just higher than your head) you can place a 2x6 up there perpendicular to where you need to point the hammer, and loop a chain over it, and hang the jackhammer inside the loop to hold all the weight of it for you buddy. :)
😂 😂 that freaking piece of metal all the way down there reminded me of digging so deep above ground and finding a worthless piece of metal after working so hard to figure out what it was setting the detector off!! OMG it makes you so mad if it took forever to dig it up… I felt your pain so much Jeff! 😂
Those ultra small short wires,,, I think they may be natural,,, and possibly manganese. I was bumping into the same near Tonopah, AZ.. BOTH surface and deep..
Who would say he is alright when he isn't keeping the gold lol he is a man down in a hole with gold fever eating him alive lol I think he is ok tho lol 👍
Jeff how deep are you now? Are you continually drifting downwards? Or just going straight? Do you have some sort of depth target? Or are you just going down until you hit caliche?
3:40 That’s exactly the way we make ladders at the Original 16 to 1 Mine in Allegheny California! Except, MSHA requires 3 nails or screws on each side of a rung, not two, but you are not subjected to their BS. Lucky you!
I was thinking about the HF 4" power auger I have for planting in phoenix. It's gas powered, but there are electrical augers I see on amazon. As you auger in horizontally, the material would drop straight down from the face and you could place a muck cart or 5 gal buckets to collect material to haul to the lift. I think it would break it up finer, you'd get more in the lift and already have it broken down for whatever processing you're doing topside.
Slim plays like my youngest son on that guitar. My older son is a music teacher ,should get them together with Slim What a jam Really love your videos ;cause you can dig it.No pun intended LOL David out

I've always want to have my own mine. I'm saving up to buy land in the mountains in colorado I love being under ground I always take a couple mine tours when I go up there
Great watching your progress in the mine. It's got to be exhausting lifting the jack hammer all day long. I was thinking there must be some way to make it easier. So I'm thinking if you wedge a board from side to side in front above your head you could hang the jack hammer by some bungee cords. It might lighten it a little bit. It's not a perfect solution but might help a little bit. Any little bit helps. Thanks for all your hard work.
Liked the poor man's dato blade for one... and the motivational prep montage, it gave me flashbacks of 80s tv shows like the A team 😁. Build a tank out of one of your mini mine cars !
I had to use one of those clay spades when sinking posts for my fence. I live in a river valley, and about 4 inches down, It's all riverbottom clay. It was so hard, it bent the tip of my regular shovel, so I had to buy a clay spade for my hammer drill and chew down to the 18inch mark for the posts. Typically, posts go down at least 24inches, but as hard as that clay was, I have no concerns about the posts shifting, especially since I made my holes wider at the bottom than the top.
