Loved this. "When we are in a positive state, we are going to hear each other. It creates tolerance." We'll recognize each other's differences. "When you seek to understand someone else, you increase your brain health and intelligence." But if your toxic, irritated, and frustrated. You become intolerant, you reduce your cognitive skills. You reduce your wisdom. You don't have clarity of thought. Your going to toxic stress. And then you don't hear each other. It's "me" focused. And "why don't you understand 'my' feelings?"
... "Research shows that whatever you imagine is physically taking place in your brain."

This message gave me so much encouragement and hope. Caroline you and I have very similar personalities and my husband and Mac are also extremely similar as well. Being together for 33 years, we separated for a year, divorced for 3 years, and remarried a year and a half ago. We met when I was 15 and he was 17. Talking and connecting was virtually void. He liked watching movies and I liked to talk. Our college daughters have said “we don’t match” and when people see me at work and meet my husband, they all agree - they pictured him differently. We remarried because we discovered that we really do love and need each other and nothing just ‘worked right’ being divorced. I introduced Your teachings to my husband and have been seeing progress in our communication. This video in particular has been great for the both of us. Please have more teachings with you both. And thank you so much! Your information is the very thing that was needed.

You are wel-come Dr. Leaf.I am from Ethiopia your books, daily tips and the show you begin recently have helped in connecting spirituality and science to develop disciplined thought life for a better life I am meant to live.I come to know you one year ago through Sid Roth IT'S SUPERNATURAL program ever since I have been following your program and reading your books.I can't imagine how you're influencing my life. You are a gift from God for those who need support in life and light for those who live in the dark.I don't like to explain what life looks like in Africa because you know it.Now I have the courage and hope to change every unpleasant situation needs to be changed.I think most African brothers need this to change their countries - not money or any other things.I praise God for all that He did and for what He is about to do in you and your family.Amen!

Aw you two are the cutest. Well done for walking out and showing what's possible for everyone. Not easy but so worth it. As the scripture says..our 'work' is to believe. It's a full time moment-by-moment, slaying lies, always acknowledging the truth job which results in true freedom!

Love your work, and have read Switch on Your Brain and am getting ready to start another Brain Detox. I greatly appreciate the TH-cam channel and all the incredible resources you are making available. My only critique would be to speak slower. 😊 Its a lot of information to take in, so... anyway, thanks again!

Thank you Mac for adding the Bible verses to the subject. For me, that helps my understanding. The Bible is such a foundation in my life that I am generally able to understand things better when the subject at hand is compared to a Bible story or a letter from one of the Apostles.

I am so happy that you use the words "tend to" a lot because it seems that my husband and I are opposite as far as when we talk and how we talk. I am the one who goes into cave time at night, and in the morning-LOL, I like being alone. I wonder if a lot of these tendencies can be attributed to introvert/extrovert personalities.

My husband is the talker after work..... when he's drinking beer. But when not, he doesn't have much to say. Very confusing!!!!!

What if it's reversed? What if the woman is the one who retreats and goes to the "cave" after work and the man is the one who wants to discuss emotions and the day?

I m not sure I agree because I am a woman and I like to space out after work and not talk. So maybe it’s not a gender thing. But love your show listen to it all the time!

This was fascinating. I am looking forward to the show on difficult spouses and the effect on the brain and how to defend this damage through understanding the science of it.. I also want to share a personal peeve of mine and hope I can gleam from your shows some help.. I’ve heard it too many times, men are logical and women are emotional.. That is said as often as women talk more than men and thankfully you cleared up that fallacy here today . I sure would like some similar help in clearing up that women are illogical issue. I, a female, tend to be logical. Dr. Leaf you are clearly a logical women! I know super emotional women yes, but I’ve seen this in men as well and am married to one. We have all heard of male pride, but male pride rarely seems logical to me. Anyway, I see there are many shows and I’m just starting.. I will studiously see all of them! But, if you haven’t address this already, then I hope you will.. Thanks 😊💝 ok, a heart’s a little emotional, but I Love this info 😇
