Wow, I have watched so many videos trying to figure out how to start this knot, and I FINALLY get it. Thank you for your clear, helpful (and slow!) video!!
Thank you for making easy something that seemed so incredibly complicated! I have struggled with this knot and can't tell you what a relief it was to discover how easy it really is. The music is nice, too. :)
@@melissawright5398 I got my copy while visiting Ashville NC. There is a small fiber factory that produces and dyes their own yarn using plant based dyes. Very cool place.
omaigat thank you so much for the tutorial, i'm having a hard time learning this horizontal half hitch, but your tutorial really helps me a lot, Stay success
Love your tutorial about half hitch knot. Thank you but PLEASE can you tell me if the filler cord (or core cord) must be the same size as the cord used in the project?? or bigger or or smaller?? Thank you very much

In this case it is the same size, but it does not need to be. You can use thinner or thicker material!
It’s called a “leading rope”. You can do it either way! This video is gorgeous, but this one explains it better: th-cam.com/video/PJ14GFBtsFw/w-d-xo.html
I love the idea of using a different, additional rope as the leading rope. It can be a continuous, never ending piece of rope, saving you an integral measure. You could use a different color, material, or texture (or all 3). You can leave the ends raw and free to add color and interest or tuck them in neatly. As long as the durability is somewhat similar, the possibilities are endless!

Yes you could use other strings or thicknesses for sure!

How is the leading strand hung so you don't have to hold it?
Yes! Exactly! It's a secret hack we love to use!
What could you use if you didnt have the middle rope to go through? Could you use one of the other strings?
