The colorizing of black and white movies have gotten a lot better, but most of the colors still look cheap and not natural. Some movies just look better in black and white. This is one of them. Plus this music doesn't give it the same meaning as the original score. Get the Bluray version. You won't regret it.

Just proves how much better the sound is on the original 1933 version. The planes and machine guns are much more distinctly heard, not muffled by incessant "action music" as in the remake. Steiner wisely avoiding scoring this sequence which heightens suspense. He did the same thing with the T-rex fight. The man was a genius.

The thing I hate of the original compared to the 2005 version is that Ann does not give a shit about Kong. There is no real connection between beauty and beast which makes the movie black and white and un emotional. It is a classic which I love but I prefer the 2005 version that was THE King Kong.

It certainly improves the quality of the film, but I think you could have been more daring with the use of colour? Using the sort of colour like they used in Robin Hood!

I mean if color was available back then it probably would have been in color, maybe not though (night of the living dead was black and white even though color was available.) For example, can you imagine the original Godzilla with color? It would look so wrong. I see exactly what you're saying. EDIT: I did research and Godzilla did get colorized by some youtubers, and it doesnt look very good, not as the artist intended as you said
