Hi everyone! Thank you so much for tuning into our first episode of the Airstream renovation! We have a long road ahead of us, but we are PUMPED on the progress during this first week. Like & Subscribe to catch Episode 2 next Sunday! -Dani & Tommy
Steve and Roxie california,ca say you guys are great work troopers when you remodeled. we did our 17 inherited travel trailer i did all the painting inside. you took out everything good idea i want to purchase a airstream so you give me hope...to redo one
I followed the entire build and love what you guys have done but for the life of me i cant remember h9ow many feet your airstream is. Did you guys ever mention it ?
Curious what you were cleaning the panels with when you got the insulation off. Thanks! I’m doing a 25’ 1966 Avion. Can’t wait to watch all your videos. I know they are different but there are a lot of similarities too.
Sorry, we can't remember. At that point we were not actually cleaning the panels thoroughly. In a later episode where we clean and reinstall the interior skins we are using TSP but here just wiping off insulation it was probably a very mild spray cleaner.
I saw photos of the finished product and it looks absolutely spectacular, so I’m gonna go through your videos from the start. Out of curiosity, did you have the insulation tested for asbestos at all?
Thanks for stopping by to checkout our renovation videos! We did not have the original insulation tested for asbestos, it was covered in mouse droppings, so we always intended on replacing the insulation with something new 😊
How much did you buy Twinkee for? Were there any red flags you looked for on the FB posting? (I’m assuming you hadn’t seen it in person prior to buying).
we bought our airstream for $5,500 and it was partially gutted already. We bought it sight unseen, and happened to have friends that lived a few minutes away from it in Michigan. They went and just made sure it wasn't a scam then we sent the money to them so we could buy it. Our parents helped us out and picked it up for us and drove it from Michigan to Maryland (we were on the west coast at the time). The size and price of the AS was exactly what we were looking for and we already knew we wanted to tear down whatever airstream we bought so we could fix it the right way, so not seeing it (in person) before buying it wasn't a huge issue for us

Why not save the side walls for a template?
we saved all the walls, and reused them... Episode 10 is about putting our refurbished walls back up.
Sorry but I’d keep the bath in the back and make the wrap around sofa turn into the bed
Hey thanks for sharing your opinion! Would love to know why if you wouldn’t mind elaborating
