It seems to me like you could simple get an r2s or shield defense to counter this, because this strategy takes so much time to set up there's plenty of reaction oppertunities to get that done.

Going to leave a comment here to share my view on the viability of this strategy.
Is it genuinely viable in a 1v1 against strong players? No, not really. Slanted metal easily counters it (accelerered miniguns used to penetrate but this was nerfed) and any early game aggression can destroy the very exposed turbines leaving you without energy. However, in 4v4s I'd argue that it is useable. Just the threat of an accelerator forces your opponents to disrupt their builds to defend, and the accelerator can still be useful for destroying turbines or weapon placements or taking out a base if they didn't slant the metal enough.

While this rush is very good and can be out by 2:30, it will never work against any form of good players (non planchas) . There is 1 simple counter to it, any type of early aggression (mainly emps) will cripple this rush.

The counter strategy exists and it consists about just about shooting anything at the minigun accelerator x)

The strat is as old as time and I wouldnt reccomend it to newer players. Because it encourages a playstile were you dont really learn the game.
