Forts is a physics-based RTS where foes design and build custom bases, arm them to the teeth and blast their opponent's creations to rubble.
Build an armoured fort in real-time and arm it to the teeth. Collect resources, develop your tech-tree, unlock advanced weapons to target your opponent's weak points, and feel the satisfaction as their fort comes crashing down.

I find it interesting how you continue playing towards the end. 4v1, last guy is being hammered, and you go ahead and place down a second cannon (even though it probably won't be out in time to fire a single shot).
You've gotten a lot of people to pick up Forts (myself included). Would it be possible to make a video demonstrating tips and tricks and highlighting a lot of the mistakes new players tend to make? For instance, I had no idea connecting to the ground cost additional resources, and that was incredibly useful to know!
how big of a playerbase does the game have? on average is there a few games open at least?
@@agentbarron3945 I have never had a problem getting a match, only ranked matchs have I had to wait, so I just play with random lobbies, there is always someone online

I noticed that too in his videos. I think it's just continued practice /habit. I've never played but it seems he's at a pretty high level, no time wasted, always using short cuts to speed things up etc.
The best part is that he doesnt go crazy when he lands a kill, no matter how insane it was

Yeah, you're right. You need parallel walls angled out to deflect the energy of a shot outward. That star pattern was no use against a direct hit.

Another "instructional" video on how to play Forts from my favorite Forts TH-camr. If I could subscribe more than once I would. I did go through and give you about another 100 likes on all your Forts videos.

For a slower rush what you can do is using the machine gun post to put a EMP rocket or a Flak it only cost 200 metal and it forces the opponant to defend against it (the machine gun of the start is not a problem because you can shoot it with the cannon once it opens and it will rip the fort in half)

I wonder if cannons should have some recoil to force us bracing them. I think it would be an interesting drawback to deal with; e.g. it would be dangerous to put them at the top of towers.

Hey incursus, you seem to always know exactly when you hit 2 and a half when bracing, how do you know when you’ve found it?

He switches between grid and non-grid building so he can use the build grid as a reference without actually building aligned to the grid. Sometimes he probably just guesses from knowing from experience, but the grid is the easiest way to tell. You can see this at 2:12 (he extends the block and manually builds so that the nodes are 2 and a half away vertically).

Why is he so worried about floating resources? Don't they just sit at 900, and you don't lose any of them? I'm new, not trying to be rude.
OrangeMC it’s more about efficiency. When you max it out you are technically losing any resources that you could be making in that time. You can always be building something, always be improving some aspect of your gameplay, so sitting on your hands is just throwing resources. For most games it doesn’t actually matter, but if it were two people of equal skill qualities, whoever acts the most would win.

You really don't seem to believe in armouring your roof even when your enemies are above you and firing at it? The front of your base gets 5+ lays of armour, but even when the enemy is on top of you firing at your roof for minutes a single layer of background bracing seems to be your armour strategy.

Recent subscriber here, just wanted to say you really have potential. Your technical commentary is great but you could improve your color commentary. There are lots of small flourishes you can do to build hype and engagement for the audience. Look at MilkAndCookiesTW's content for an example of what I mean.

these tuts literally never work, i do everything exactly as these videos, have tried so many and not once have i not been instantly shot at and my base died, either its from colliding although the video says "oh this bracing will prevend collapse" or from just instantly being shot into the core and loosing all protection although again the video saying "oh do some bacing here and some metal there so noone can shoot anything" which never works against anything, wow
