  • Through this narrated film originally produced by John Sproule Mills, City of Saskatoon Archivist, Jeff O'Brien, takes us back to the first ever visit to Canada by the reigning King and Queen at the time. It was 1939, and Saskatoon was on the list of stops on the Royal tour. As the world prepares to watch a new generation of Royals celebrate the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19, 2018, we step back in time to share a Royal story with a Saskatoon connection.
    This one-of-a-kind treasure colour footage of the 1939 Royal Visit to Saskatoon was acquired by the City of Saskatoon Archives in 2017.
