Reading this in the manga made me cry even more, there’s also one scene that didn’t make it into the anime-Atsushi encountered Akutagawa but Aku knew of what happened (or sensed Atsushi’s despair that time can’t recall exactly), but he said he won’t insist on a fight that moment as Atsushi is clearly not in a disposition for it. Also love how Dazai comforted him there. This episode makes me wanna urge you again to read the Beast manga or LN, their relationship and Atsushi’s trauma will be even more impactful.

It was really such an emotional episode. I also cry every damn time i need to see this part 🥲🥲🥲 And i can totally relate to what Atsushi felt, because my parents also were VERY bad parents, i also hated them to death and was even almost happy when my father died, just to cry a few days later for unknown reasons. I wonder if Atsushi and the headmaster ever shared some "normal" moments together too or if he was ever let out of his cell. PS: There won't ever be many anime where truck kun doesn't strike
You did not cry for unknown reasons, Kaddy. It is as I said, whether you like it or not, there's still a bond, an attachment there just because they are your parents, the people that, despite the abuse, still shelter you (even if you don't know at the time it's out of sheer obligation). If they are not complete monster a-holes, they feed you. And as a kid you spend your time trying to please them, trying to do whatever to be good enough but you grow up with a shitty complex because you never are good enough in their eyes. Unlike the headmaster, these types of parents just don't care. At least the headmaster was protecting Atsushi from himself even if it was through barbaric means. IRL parents don't have that excuse. There are so many couples out there paying thousands for IVF treatment and adoptions, dying to be good parents and don't get the opportunity. It sickens me that so many lowlifes have children so easily only to treat them like garbage. I'm sorry that you had to have such terrible parents. 17:25 It is not mentioned later in the series,at least so far in the story, but do you remember that blue haired girl in Dead apple? Her name was Tsujimura. her ability was also transferred to her in the same way, also the person who taught this method to Kyouka's mother was Tsujimura's mother.there's actually a light novel about her, I haven't read it yet, so I don't know about its story that much, however, I think the main characters in the manga have a very little presence in this novel. (I'm not sure about it though).

No he wasn't ^^" In the manga its a bit better explained and left out here. The headmaster is just a guy who was an orphan himself, growing up in war and having a criminal background. After everyone died he knew, he build an orphanage. Probably because he saw cruel things in his past that were done to children. I guess for him, this kind of abuse isn't even much comparing to the things he saw in the war. It's nothing known about Atsushi's past or parents and maybe never will be, because his story is that he is who he is, not thinking about the past anymore and letting it behind him.
We are a couple of jokesters. Things get serious and we'll still be joking. HOWEVER, if you've seen enough videos, you'll know by now that there are times the joking simply stops. Pramit is a crybaby and I, well I go silent or swear my ass off because I refuse to cry and ruin my makeup for the other episodes that need to be recorded after BSD. Also because crying leads to headache. If we're not joking around... trust that we are BEYOND STRESSED.
