      He’s incredible at not only explaining why you should make certain moves, but more importantly why I shouldn’t be making certain moves. He also has the best sayings that stick with you like lpdo “lose pieces drop off”/ “know when to break basic rules of chess”/ “overload tactics” etc….he’s the best teacher hands down!

    Beautiful game, Danya - like watching music. I don't know what that means except sometimes at the beginning there's this confusion as the instruments are getting in tune, getting in sync, and then the conductor waves the baton and the sections respond one after the other until the whole orchestra is playing together. Thats how much I enjoyed watching that speed game.

    • @faznaz7455
      @faznaz7455 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, allowing e4 by black was the nail in the coffin for white because Nf3 became unstoppable at that point. White had to play e4 himself and pray that the consequences weren’t so severe.

    • @gnikdroy
      @gnikdroy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After e4 at 14:04, the knight just had too many outposts. Outposts at f3, d3, c4. Additionally, the early pawn pushes on the queenside by white started showing its venom as f3 could no longer be protected. After e4, white probably has to get ready to sac an exchange for the knight.
      Also, white playing e4 themselves loses by force, as danya shows.

    • @faznaz7455
      @faznaz7455 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gnikdroy A sensible suggestion but even that alternative looks hopeless for white. Then probably after e4 Ne2 can be tried and after Ne5 Bg3 which would follow up your exchange sac idea however even in that line black still maintains heavy initiative and white will pay the price for the structural weaknesses. So you have to pick your poison haha

    I thought it was interesting to see what Stockfish thinks of Bxf4 instead of Bg7 preparing e5. Thinking that even without that plan the engine would find a defense. But it's stupid. We need plans to play for and engines don't necessarily help formulating ideas. Excellent non-use of the engine in fact. You are easily the best chess coach.

    • @Narrowcros

    Bh6 targeting e3 was clutch. Just immediately recognized the best way to punish f3.

    • @faznaz7455
      @faznaz7455 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If Qd2 was the best way to deal with Bh6, then perhaps this manoeuvre by white is too slack, which surprises me because i thought white was first in the attack, but black’s counterattack proved to be even more potent.

    • @wolfyrine
      @wolfyrine 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@faznaz7455 I thought the same! Danya himself said that f3 was a good move, that it showed that white understood the position, and I completely agree. The plan for white was very clear, everything in the position was screaming for white to start a kingside attack. But Danya immediately started asking questions, made white's life difficult, and white was never able to get the attack off the ground.

    • @faznaz7455
      @faznaz7455 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wolfyrine Even though Danya may have liked f3, if white is not in time to push g4 then f3 is a premature move, but that would mean you would have to admit that white’s attack is too slow if you have to find an alternative which is very difficult to see in hindsight. Instead you would need to make another prepatory move,White never wants to play f4 himself to nullify the bishop, because then he would never be able to play g4 so Bf4 is the only way to challenge this idea and even then black might already be fine. I would never be able to identify such nuances in rapid or blitz.
      Tldr; Chess is hard

    • @wolfyrine
      @wolfyrine 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@faznaz7455 The crazy thing is, Danya was still right. f3 wasn't bad, and it wasn't too early. Danya just found a clever way to try to punish it. But in fact, white could have been much more aggressive. Took a look with an engine, and white had an insane countershot against the Bh6 manuever. After f3 (which is 0.0, of course) Nxe5 Bxe5 Bh6, white had the ridiculous g4!
      And g4 isn't even about the attack, there's a much more immediate tactical justification: g4 poisons the e3 pawn because after g4 Bxe3 Qd3, the only safe square for the bishop to retreat to is h6. But if Bh6, then g5 is just a fork! So after Bh6 g4, if black tries to follow through on his threat with Bxe3, then he just loses a piece!
      The best black can do is retreat the knight to d7, stepping out of the fork on g5, but then white can even retreat the bishop to f4, defending e3 for good and forcing the trade of dark square bishops on f4. (Black must trade dark square bishops here because black needs to play with tempo on this move. Black CANNOT allow gxh5 to be played.) And here it's equal, but black is the only one having fun.
      So yeah. Chess is hard.
