    Wanted one in 2012, and bought a late one 2 weeks ago. Absolutely love it, our Ioniq 5 has sat on the drive since we got it. The second belt for the driver was for safety to stop you falling out of the side in a collision if you bought one without doors!! There are now aftermarket solid plastic windows with sliding open windows available on ebay and are very good. 2 inches of foam on the seat transforms the ride if you get one for the office. Great video as always.

    Love the review but my dip into the electric market was the niu
    m-sport moped u reviewed.
    Cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter.
    Saved me a fortune on time in heavy traffic.

      A great moped and glad it's going well for you. Not much time saved in the Twizy with traffic. More of a novelty factor

    I loved it when I drove the first one that killed my drone 🤣 and this.
    I would seriously consider buying one but I have a real fear of losing my licence by driving everywhere like I was in Mario Cart

    Fun "cars"! I'd buy one if the price was right, but the ones I've seen have been too much. You would buy a first gen Leaf for the same price.
    Even more crazy is that you can get a tuning box (Powerbox) for the Twizy which almost doubles the torque, allows you to tweak regen levels, and has 3 modes including a sport mode! 😂

      I'm afraid to start finding out about the mods 😬

    Such a cool little car for scooting around. I fitted on the back sit together with our dog 🐕 😅

    Yeat needs this car

    35-55km range is ridiculous. I have a 30km (one way) commute, and this vehicle concept would be perfect. What a shame! It should be possible to put a battery in this thing that gets 100km to make it somewhat usable.

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, this technology is old and dated now. Newer small EVs will be coming to the market and the Ami/Rocks Electric is over 70km range.

      I also drive the twizy, if you behave it has no problem reaching 75, 80 km in distance. I cornering with this car is so amusing, it's difficult to behave. But so much fun.

      You can buy a battery upgrade for this but I think it costs about £5k so whilst possible to get 80-100 miles it is a bit of a premium!

    I'm sure you've answered this a thousand times, but could you explain or point me to the driver requirements for this and others like it. Classified as a mobility scooter? An on road quad? I'm fairly disabled and need an easy way to get about in a village.
    Is there a vehicle/quad/ATV that's no license, on-road, electric to buy in Ireland?

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the question Elfay. The Twizy requires a driver's licence in Ireland. So will the Citroen Ami. The only things that don't require a licence, to my knowledge, are mobility scooters.

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland Ugh. 😒 Very off topic but the cost and process of licenses for foreign residents is ridiculous. Plus, mob scooters really scream 'old lady' 🙄☺️ What about like a Vespa type scoot or a farming mini truck? France and America, the driving age for the Ami and those like it, is 14 (can't even test for a license at that age). Is it because they can go on a road?

    • @opticonor
      @opticonor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheElfay are there additional costs and processes here for foreign residents than there are for everyone else?

    • @TheElfay
      @TheElfay 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@opticonor Yes, many. But the long and short of it is (even with reduced lessons required from 2019 from 12 to 6), at 42 yrs of driving in 4 countries on valid license, I'd have to start completely over with paperwork, tests, lessons, and the different transmission tests. Then sit on some Learner permit for months plus pay 'new driver' insurance rates. It's hundreds of Euro and I'm just too old for these kind of games.
      But I'd happily take a driving test to demonstrate that I can drive on the other side, shift gears with my other hand etc... I'm all for safety.

    • @opticonor
      @opticonor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately every Irish person also needs to go through the very same processes and costs for us to be allowed to drive on the road here, so it's not just "for foreign residents" I'm afraid. Insurance prices are crazy here unfortunately. But when you witness the really poor driving in countries like Italy and India for example, I'd prefer that we keep tests for everyone.

    Would ya pick it over a Citroen Ami?

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the question Jason. I'll hopefully have the Ami soon for a few days and will come back with an answer then. For now, my head says Ami for a little bit more practicality but my heart says Twizy

    • @lewismcnicholas2631
      @lewismcnicholas2631 ปีที่แล้ว

      All day given that the Ami tops out at 28 mph vs 50 mph in the twizy plus can get the power box to get it to 65-70!
