You can say a lot of great things about this performance, but the aspect of her talent I think I like the most is her ability to blend her tone with the piano. Unbelievable ear.
That opening melody in the 1st movement is an absolute one-off. Was it the best tune he ever wrote? So he saved it for an unimportant little sonata for teaching purposes. Saint-Saens must have had tunes to burn.
Leonardo King Thank you for this time stamp!! I’m an 8th grader playing this part for solo and ensemble and I really wanted to hear the speed and rhythms played correctly

¡Hola Camille! Felicitaciones.
Hello Camille! The sound of this clarinet is very beautiful. The recording was good though, it could be any musician who is playing and not exactly you. I advise you to post videos of you playing, not just audio. But it's beautiful. Congratulations.
This gal has a long way to go. Send her some recordings by Harold Wright---that should help getting the un-centered, hollow quality of her sound. Tongue position--too low and forward---more character in phrasing. this sounds like a first time reading.
And I thought it was just me.... i agree wholeheartedly. The upper registers especially lacking the richness we strive to accomplish. Sloppy and without love for the piece. But, if i was not a clarinet player I would enjoy it for what it is.
rachel simms I am going to play the second movement for a contest... I’m an eighth grader (third year playing) and I’m actually kind of terrified after listening to her play it. Do you suggest I play it a bit slower (even though I’m a great player for my age)?
Addison Willis I’m sure you have a different tone as we all do. Record yourself and listen back to see if you maintain your tone throughout. Good luck with your concert !
@@addisonwillis46 Amazing to know that you are a great player for your age. I would't do the contest. The jury would only bring you down. It is indeed terrifying how incredibly expressive she plays. Would't do that if I were you.
I completely disagree! I just stumbled upon this recording while looking for something to recommend for study purposes for a student. I am smitten by this artist's beautiful, singing tone. She is wonderfully expressive and elegant -- a truly soulful artist.

I played this for my senior recital. This is done beautifully!
(00:01) 01 Allegretto
(04:23) 02 Allegro Animato
(06:49) 03 Lento
(10:57) 04 Molto Allegro
The top notes could sound a little less shrill but she is young.

Such beautiful tone and artistry. Amazing intonation. Thank you for your gift of music,
Was für eine seelenvolle, einfühlende Interpretation! Und dieser Ton - clarinettissimo! Auch der Pianist ist ganz hervorragend.
Fabulous tone, just outstanding!
Yes, she basically 'interprets the music ' & what is written here very precisely ! Wonderful
Such listening pleasure, such incredible talent, delightful, peaceful and absolute tranquility!

beautiful. i could really hear how she was singing through the clarinet and not just playing through the piece
Excellent player,nice sound.
so beautiful! what a lovely first movement
me too...
so much
Beautiful, lyrical playing!
Some people could say, Saint Saens is a minor composer. Poor people.
Anyone who says Saint Saens is a minor composer would also say Beethoven is a minor composer. Enough said.
BRAVO !!!
Very nice!
So many nice details!
Simply brilliant!

JAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO MAMEEES

Sehr kultiviert ...
Effortless Music, at least so it seems!
Ya it sounds rlly rushed.
in random spots she is stressing notes and slowing down slighlty. To many swells, but hey, better than me!
I agree, great tone quality but sometimes in areas she sounds a bit rushed
It all depends on how you want to express it. It isn’t one of those pieces that are exactly by the book.
