Greetings from Missouri USA. Enjoying this series. Thanks for posting. I picked my Daytona 660 this week as well.
I'm 215 lbs with gear and find rear preload position 3 of 7 to be working well for sharper steering, perhaps using position 2 for pure touring work.

Excellent, great you have addressed it right from the get go. The bike is superb, I wouldn’t want to disuade buyers with my comments.

Excellent point about rear preload in that many won't immediately adjust it for their weight. This bike has a longer wheelbase than my other sport bikes. If you need it sharper than it is after proper preload adjustment, perhaps a set of S23 tires would help.

Now that’s an interesting solution, I did wonder if there was a tyre element to it?

Regarding front suspension; I believe this is the same fork as used on CBR650R, CBR500R, and GSX-8R. My '22 CBR500R is too softly sprung for my weight and I ordered CBR650R springs for it (not installed yet). My point being the parts diagram shows a spring in each leg on this setup, so I would expect the same on the Daytona.
My CRF300 Rally only has one spring for both legs. There are all sorts of variations available now.

Yes, I think those forks can come in a variety of ways but pretty sure there is only one spring in the Daytona deployment. I did change out the front springs on my Daytona 1200 which were under sprung for my weight and that worked well along with a new rear shock. I’ll stick with stock on these for now, impressive I think for a non adjustable damping setup. Cheers!

I'm curious how much of a difference the comfort seat will make. I ordered it as well for mine

Yes, I bought it for the video series so I’ll run with it. I have to say the stock seat is impressive though.

I'm wondering if I can get the lower seat without giving up any comfort.

Glad to hear you like the front brake. I prefer the feel from my '24 Ninja 650 (non-ABS). If the dealer installs the front tire, I should loosen caliper bolts, apply brake pressure to properly align pads and caliper with disc, then snug bolts, followed by proper torque. This isnt something they need to address on axial mounting, but it makes sense for radial mount calipers ( per Dave Moss Tuning).

Yes, this is something I have to do on my CB1100, Honda have a precise order for putting the front wheel back on including giving the forks a good workout half way through. I like Dave's videos, nice fella.

@@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuffI loosened, applied brake pressure, then snugged and torqued the calipers. Better feel and performance!

I sat on one , this bike was top of my short list but it was kinda unconfortable fount it way more aggresive then suzuki 8r . Hope the cbr 650r is a bit comfortable.

I removed the passenger foot peg on mine. My heels are hitting the passenger foot peg.

Cleans the look up a little to no doubt. I bought some summer boots when I bought the Daytona so I could avoid this with my clodhopper touring boots.

I won’t, other commitments but it’ll get good outings. I used to camp at the TT and Le Mans on my old Daytona though. I not sure I remember much about those beer fueled times! 😂.

Well if you really hate the asymmetric lights.. can't you just run with high beams all the time? That just turns them both on.
