Common mistakes people make when purchasing their domain:
1. Buy your domain from your website builder or hosting provider (Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, Bluehost, Host Gator, etc.)
2. Don't pay attention to the renewal price for their domain
3. Purchase somewhere that doesn't provide WhoisGuard for free.

Wow, this is likely point-by-point exactly the same as Craylor Made's video. I mean the order of the web hosts were shuffled around but the exact same points were made for both.
Your video gave me much new information, one example of which I found especially edifying -- namely that some registrars cough up your whois contact information as soon as they're asked, whereas others have built-in safeguards to prevent this. The problem is that I'm finding it difficult to act on this guidance because it's not obvious to me how to determine where any given registrar falls on that continuum.
For example, both Porkbun and Hostinger offer a radio-slider at checkout to activate whois privacy protection, and the cost is the same, but obviously neither of them are going to say on their own site, "We don't really mean it."
Can you offer any further guidance?

I didn't know private is free, I been paying at least 8 bucks a year i just looked up name cheap but i am confused on their mail feature? free trial? thanks again i have been busy but you are the #1 go to for the honest and simply information.
I haven't used their email. We use Google Workspace for our email

As a Namecheap SSL supporter, no, you do not. Shopify offers free certificates for domains hosted with them.

What I don´t understand is: The Domain is always for both Email and WebSite? Or you can buy them separately? Can buy Email Domain/Custom Adress without email and web hosting?
Good question. Once you own the domain, you can use it for email and/or for your website. You can pay for an email provider like Google Workspace or a website builder such as Wix or hosting for a WordPress website all separately. If you purchase a domain somewhere like GoDaddy or a website builder such as Wix, you will pay more than the top options in this video. We recommend purchasing from PorkBun or Namecheap and then connecting it with your website and email.

host gator really did me over. i had the simple yearly plan. this year they charged me 300 bucks on my account, when i told them i didnt want there web hosting anymore, they said i couldnt have my domain. so keep that in mind if you use them. you wont ever own the domain they do, and unless you pay them for web service they wont let you have it.

You can transfer your domain to another registrar with better prices so you don’t need to pay a high price in year 2 if you decide to keep it.
Why not go with google? I don’t understand why not.

yeah namecheap, no way. if you're a developer and you still want to be confused with the setup and at times treated like a criminal because you choose a funny domain name, yeah go with namecheap. you talk about obscured costing, namecheap at will may state your domain "suspicious" and require documentation, even before you set it up but after you purchase it. yeah, namecheap, no way.
