These flood damaged cars must be a breath of fresh air for you Phil, after repairing the usual crash damaged vehicles. Great video, as always I enjoyed watching it❤.
I personally would have put some diesel or penetrating oil down the bores & left it a day or so due to it having water in the cylinders the piston rings may have rusted to the bores being as it's been sat around & giving it a soaking could have freed it of, maybe worth a thought for next time
The locking wheel nut tool should be under the boot floor in a pouch with the flat tyre kit and towing eye. At least that’s where it was in my 2020 Clubman. Probably was lifted out before you got it.
Hi Phil, you are getting a dab hand at whipping these engines out of Minis👍 Be interesting to know how much these water damaged cars cost from Copart, and what do SH engines cost ? Other channels share this information and it all adds to the overall attraction of the channel. Get a heater mate, it’s going to snow next week! ☃️❄️⛄️
I wouldn’t say It’s seized up at all seems that all you really need to do is lubricate the bores with some WD-40 and turn over the crank with a long extension bar also the batteries on salvage cars appear to be knackered when they are not they are just deeply discharged and sulphated you need to buy a de sulphiting recycling charger, The cost of the charger will be covered by one battery replacement savings!
Greetings from South Florida Phil. 1st, I really enjoy your videos since I've been fooling with cars for over 60 years. 2nd, where are you located in the UK? You always seem to have bad weather.
Balls of dung IMO, even when not flood damaged, but each to their own. First time I got into one & drove, I was stunned at the "Fans" - they are like dishwashers on wheels.
Hi , Phil would like to know how long that took you to get out ??? , only watched a yank guy do the same thing , this afternoon !! , but he took off the whole front off .... & he had the entire engine out in , 1 hr 45 mins , did it take you longer ?? .
We had a iveco tesco delivery van in at work this week, it had silt all over the engine and on the floor in the cab,23 plate needed a new chassis so just took the box off the back and bolted it onto a new chassis. Engine was completely shot.
Phil - I restore damaged minis. Could you pls try rotate the crank, then maybe do a wee disassemble sump to show us the damage from water ingestion. It’s fatal on any engine. I had a C63 AMG Mercedes and they are prone to ingest because location of air intake and broke 1 rod and bent another plus 1 piston broken. 10,000 Quid later and all good to go.!
Petrols dont usually have sufficient compression to bend a rod they just hydralock. Diesels bend and shorten the rod causing a misfire. Stripping the engine would be informative to see the actual problem problem
@charliecoco2115 just paid my self assessment actually, there due by the 31st of Jan. Alot of my cars sell to subscribers, anyone is free to contact me via email if there interested in anything, and alot do. I've had 2 already contact me regarding this mini.
The suspense is killing me on what is actually wrong with the engine....other than there's been water in it. Bent valve, broken piston or rusty rings???

How did you get the wheel nuts off, without locking key?👍✅🍺
He did say in the video (16 minutes in) when the car was on the ramp it was a day later as he had too order and get another wheel locking nut key 👍
