He was a genuinely world class player and true the only player I have seen who had ronaldo in his pocket and I am saying this as a white guy, he was the victim of racism ...black guy/mixed race guy always gets the raw end of the stick... Gazza's behaviour at the beginning was construed as working class rogue etc, him he's a thug... And he never gave his side of the story regarding his ex wife which I think he should have done, because he would have got less grief. By far and away the best left back for engand in my time (since mid 80's) and glad it seems he is finally getting the respect he deserves...Clearly aint too bright though, but that doesnt mean he doesnt deserve respect and a decent job as a coach if he wants it

I'm English and Ronaldo got the better of Cashley quite a few times even when he was inexperienced before he became unplayable and when he was at the stage where he was unplayable and he played Cashley he was unsurprisingly unplayable against him and tore he & Chelsea to shreds.
Luckily for Chelski what people fail to mention is that they avoided playing Cristiano from ages 23 to 36 ManUtd pulverised Chelsea in Jan2009 and Chelsea benefited from avoiding him after that for the rest of Cashley's career & beyond, apart from friendlies of course when Cristiano battered Cashley&Chelsea again like one in 2013.
