I was the last person to rent that house July 21st It was amazing with the waves under the deck By the way, that house was originally 4 lots back from the ocean when it was built
I don't know what they're all whingeing about. They know that its inevitable for their homes to be swept away. But to expect some dept or insurances to help them move the house or clean up the mess left behind is such a selfish act! Stop building there! Aren't there any government restrictions to build in a known erosion area? People are so selfish and stupid!
The house was originally built in the 70s. At the time you could get away with building a lot of things that you couldn’t in today’s world. With that said I think so long as they paid the premium then the insurance should and ought to pay at least the dwelling cost which would be minimally 225 for that area.
The originally owner has long since got their profit from the house. The house was sold in 2019 and the new owners would have been well aware of any erosion but I’m guessing getting that rental money they figure they’d make a profit well before any issue. Given it is 5 years since they bought it I’m thinking they broke even if they’ve been renting it each summer.
@@blipco5 Joking aside, I wonder what actually happens to that section of land that the owner bought and paid (or is paying) for. Does the address still exist in the tax records?
There should be a government mandate that requires homeowners within 50 feet of the ocean at high tide to remove their homes or be fined. Just look at all those hazardous materials going into our sandy beaches: broken glass, metal, fiberglass; step on one of those sharp edges and you’re in for a heck of a lot of hurt, and possibly maiming for life.
Trying to bite my tongue, but look at all that debris and danger left along the shore and in the water. It's the same in every one of these Rodanthe videos. Shame on the insurance companies and, yes, shame on the homeowners, too for not demo-ing before the tides and ocean storms did the work for them. They should be charged for the cleanup. Apologies for infringing on others' life choices but let's take some first-world responsibility here people. Enough said. Hard stop.

What? A house near the ocean got destroyed by the ocean? No way
AWESOME MAN!!
For those who are interested:
This home was built in 1973 and was last sold in January 2019 for $339,000
so what STILL STUPIDITY FROM GREEDY DEVELOPERS AND DUMB HOME OWNERS
So who cleans up their mess? Ruining our beaches!,
Hurts to see but only a sandcastle should be built on a beach.
It wasn't built on the beach, the beach came to it. Not the homeowners' fault.
Agree, barrier island is shifting sand. Nothing should have been built on it.
@@bwofficial1776 Not their fault, except they got what they paid for, a temporary situation.
You looking at 70% Florida's fate by the end of this century.
Bull, it's called erosion. 70%, what a joke. Gore said the seas would be 3' higher by 2050.....hahaha
What can you expect when you basically build on the sea
For all interested.. WE MUST MOVE INLAND😂 i had to! Florida 2013🎉moved family inland to a dry lake. Lots of room for water, no flood
There was a clever guy some 2000 years ago that said some thing about building on the shifting sands. Maybe should have paid attention?
Well if you live on the beach, this is what happens
Trashing the ocean.
So confused: you mean coastlines change? Oh you idiots entertain me.
Doesn't appear seaworthy though!
"Hard to starboard, Captain. The kitchen is taking on water!!"
Like a ship without a rudder, or a Ship of Fools...
0:24 I think Andy Fox got it wrong. The address is still the same, but the house is just gone.
Can you have an address under the ocean?
@@blipco5 Joking aside, I wonder what actually happens to that section of land that the owner bought and paid (or is paying) for. Does the address still exist in the tax records?
@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR good question. And to think they want to build floating houses in the ocean!
That is what happens when you build a house on sand on the ocean. That is expected and not a surprise. No tax dollars should go the homeowners.
Well that house now has a zero dollar value.
Listen to nature because it will always win.
STOP BUILDING ON SAND.....YOU RECALL THE STORY OF THE 3 LITTLE PIGS??😂
The pigs used various building materials. It is the Bible that warns against building on sand.
@@snowmiaow are you trying to correct my joke???
Those homeowners should have to pay for the cleanup.
Oh my goodness. Prayers to all affected.
Idiotic to build houses on sand dunes.
Why build your house in the ocean and sand? Wow so intelligent huh 🤔
80% of the worlds population live along the coastlines.
I don't understand why these people don't move their homes before they pollute up the ocean. How pathetic and irresponsible!
Why is the local government letting the house debris remain?
Looks to me the pilings were not in the best shape. Who pays for the clean up if any?
Don’t buy/build next to the waves.
I surf - how do u go out realizing there are cement slabs and bathtubs buried 10 feet out? I would never live so close to the ocean!!

It's almost as if the ocean just swept away the house!
Being rich must be hard😂.
by a house right on🤭 the water and then puts in a pool.
For my entire life I have been saying I never want to live in a house on the water. That water is eventually coming in, that's all I'm saying.
You want a beachfront oasis? Just set up a houseboat on your lot your all set.
If you build it there, the waves WILL come.
House used to be four blocks away from the ocean
A real houseboat.
House boat....
This is why you don’t build your home on a beach. They are too fragile.
I think you need a bigger house.
“We must adjust to nature”. You paying attention, RPV Cali?
Where are the climate fanatics? Figured they would be all over this.
Nature cleans up people's garbage, I mean house.
GOOD! YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BUILD ON THE BEACH NEAR THE OCEAN.
All of Florida will see this soon.
Can you actually buy home owners insurance in such a high risk area?
And fiberglass is plastic so now that shit's in the water.
I wonder if their property taxes will be reduced?
Nope the greedy county will still demand taxes... even if your parcel of land is under water!
Did the ocean rise?
All the owners knew it would happen sooner or later.
That Birman dude needs to chill out
Don't build near the ocean.
Especially if there is a tsunami...
Thank you Jesus my fam is not ON the Water!
When you live on a beach this is browned to happen
So sad, another rich person gets a cash payout and a brand new home.🙄🙄🙄
But brand new home where? That land is under water now 😂
Wait wait wait erosion exists?
Justin Trudeau ... look your house ! ..
dont worry it is nothing compares to 40 billion dollars
Hurr durr, let's build multimillion dollar investment properties on barrier islands, what could possibly go wrong?
Again, building where they have no business putting any structure!
I understand people have invested in these. But it just seems like 💩 getting real. Maybe GTFO time.
Houseboat for sale. Cheap.
Awe don’t build on a beach
‘Adjust to nature’, karma for greed
YA when i look at the sea the voice in my head says>> I should build a home here. Bunch of dummies.
we were going to move iT ??? YA ? Kinda late !! OW WELL ! LET THE TAX PAYER CLEan Up the debree field !! NOT THE OWNER !!
Simple! Stop building along the shores.
Absolutely hilarious.
🤣Stop Building 50 feet from the Ocean.
Dreadful place to build anything.
Have sea will travel!
so sad:(
