There never was going to be a season 3. WB paid and got two seasons and a special. The Studio has already moved onto another project. Melma didn't get cancelled, it got exactly what it paid for.
Arguably had it been on track to do well, there would've been an "extra long" season one (our seasons one and two) and a special, and instead of a special right now we'd be getting an actual season 2. Companies do this all the time with bad, tax write off shows like Velma so that way they can say "at least it got two seasons so it didn't flop," when in reality its just an artificial way to make it seem better than it really is.
It really feels like the authors don't know English enough to produce a show. There are many synonims and replacments for words "sexy" and "attractive" in English.
So Velma's origin is that when she was a kid she was a brat, and on Christmas Eve she went and found her Christmas presents forcing her mom to go out and get her something else. Her mom being an alcoholic, failed murder mystery writer. She decided to go and trespass onto private property because she so happened to find a journal written by Norville's grandmother about how to transplant brains. Which was a secret military operation designed to recruit hippies into the military, because hypnosis wasn't working. At that time the military Daughter of that general behind the brain-swapping project just so happened to be moving into the home of Norville's Grandmother. Discovering that Velma's mom was in the basement with the journal. (please bear with me on this.) So Fred's mom decided to kidnap Velma's mom faked her car accident, and broke into an ongoing police investigation just to hypnotize the daughter of the person she kidnapped. So she won't investigate the disappearance of her mother, and somehow make her an outcast. (Being an outcast is completely on Velma, hypnotism or no hypnotism) So Velma, who was mean to her only friend Daphne who was an abandoned orphan girl. Whose Biological parents were thieves, just taking crystals from the abandoned mines. To the point where Daphne went to find new friends and Velma after pushing Daphne away got so mad she made Norville her backup friend. Essentially forcing Norville to do whatever she wants whenever she wants, and it's ok because Norvell is a simp. (I know it's hard to read and I hate having to write this, but there is a joke at the end.) Years later Fred's mom decided to go around and start randomly killing the "attractive" females and somehow wanted to frame Velma for it. Without following through on making Velma the prime suspect, and for some reason she gets cleared for no reason when Velma accuses Fred without any evidence of the murders. Wanting him to go to jail, just because "It's nice that a white guy gets wrongly convicted." The reason why she's killing these girls is because she spent years spoiling her child and then blaming him for being such a man-child. She decides to swap out her son's brain with that of a female who would appreciate the male Privilege. (writing this is causing me pain.) Velma after getting spoon-fed information and conveniently finding someone who knows something. She, "figures" out what's going on, but people praise her for her detective work when. Norvell, Fred, and Daphne do most of the investigative work. All of them during the first season were simping over Velma. Velma manages to cure what could've been an interesting take on mental trauma which the show tries to acknowledge but bashes with a rock. Which the cure was snapping which in years no one has ever snapped their fingers at Velma. Then after defeating Fred's mom Norville has PTSD from having to take the life of one of his friend's mother. Plot twist he was just getting haunted by the ghost of Norville's mom. More people start dying and this time around Velma's stepmom who was an independent woman who worked her way up to becoming a manager at a local dinner, is a poor unfortunate woman who never got attention for finding Norvell's grandmother's notes on brain swapping. So she had to dress up so they could start another teenage recruitment program of making a talking dog mascot with catchphrases. That was also genetically engineered to be indestructible. (An entire season of just people wanting to scare people by dressing up as monsters is Shakespeare compared to this.) So after finding out the mental institution, the military dropped Norville's grandmother off. She slowly converted the mental institution, to a brain spa that high elites would pay money to get their brain taken out and put into jars. The military, despite wanting this information never checked in and saw what was happening or to see if anyone had any notes or something about the brain swapping. So after finding Scrappy, who was considered to be the worst Scooby Doo character redeemed himself. By killing Velma he was redeemed, but she came back as a ghost. For some reason they can bring her back from the dead. Only with a magical witch book on Halloween, they do find that this book is evil and corrupted a grandmother to kill people dressed in inappropriate costumes. Because sexy is somehow the counter to Scary, and to save the day from a zombie apocalypse Velma had to drag an old lady to hell. So now the entire story of Velma can be concluded as Velma was killed by Scrappy and has gone to hell and her hell is a cancelled season that will never exist. This entire thing was so dumb that it's laughable that Scooby doo had been more mature and darker than this series ever hoped to be. Thank the people behind Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island for a masterpiece that can stand on top of the corpse of this series. This series may not have the Scooby doo formula but the old Scooby doo shows were far more practical and intelligent than what we got here.

Though with how animation studios have been treating animated shows.......We can only hope we have something good down the line. In the mean time, I highly recommend mystery skulls by Mystery ben. There should be a new episode this month. Yet the animation and story thus far has been top tier. The episodes are basically fan made music video to the band Mystery Skulls.
Love the fact that people are more respecting scrappy, even if it's because he killed Mindy Kaling's velma. He really didn't deserve all the hate back then, and with any luck we can at least forget him and just have shows stop using it for cheap "likes".
I mostly saw him in movies like Boo Brothers and he was a good contrast to Scooby and Shaggy in those. Plus 13 Ghosts was great. Can't believe the series with Vincent Price as a regular voice actor didn't get more viewers.

I liked Scrappy in Ghoul School and Boo Brothers, but he is useless in the Werewolf movie. All of his lines the werewolf movie is either saying hi or agreeing with what someone else said. You could edit him out and change nothing.
At least the show is finally cancelled, as confirmed by Max themselves. Though, it is a shame that the artists that worked on it lost their jobs. Hopefully, they find work soon, and hopefully on better shows.

Somehow I'm not that surprised that my prediction became true. With the whole Velma becoming mortal again, there being a time limit to do so. This happened in another series that I watched and it was also kind of a Halloween special for that said series. Nor am I and other people surprised that the show got officially cancelled.
So, they don't even understand how to make a coherent hook? As hokey as it is to literally have Velma stare into the camera and go "I'm alive, but how?" At least, in theory, it's engaging, getting the audience talking, speculating. Then, Three Seconds Later, no, it's just the possessed phone app that made Fred do it so he can open the gates of Hell. Admittedly, there is an angle in that as well "OOOOOO, look what's gonna happen next season", but that would only work if you like these characters, or had faith in the production to deliver, or if any of it actually made sense.
This feels like Mystery Science Theatre 3000 but the riffer (mjtanner) suffers very obviously lmao. I’m so glad this shitshow is not getting another season, but I also feel bad for the animators losing their job despite being forced to work on a pretty bad show 😐

I don’t think that’s the case, they had a cliffhanger at the end of the specials so there was clearly meant to be a third season

Good news: Velma is cancelled. Bad news: she is somehow alive.

Somehow I'm not that surprised that my prediction became true. With the whole Velma becoming mortal again, there being a time limit to do so. This happened in another series that I watched and it was also kind of a Halloween special for that said series.
Nor am I and other people surprised that the show got officially cancelled.

So, they don't even understand how to make a coherent hook? As hokey as it is to literally have Velma stare into the camera and go "I'm alive, but how?" At least, in theory, it's engaging, getting the audience talking, speculating. Then, Three Seconds Later, no, it's just the possessed phone app that made Fred do it so he can open the gates of Hell. Admittedly, there is an angle in that as well "OOOOOO, look what's gonna happen next season", but that would only work if you like these characters, or had faith in the production to deliver, or if any of it actually made sense.
This feels like Mystery Science Theatre 3000 but the riffer (mjtanner) suffers very obviously lmao. I’m so glad this shitshow is not getting another season, but I also feel bad for the animators losing their job despite being forced to work on a pretty bad show 😐
Well, that was a mess. But thanks for helping us get through it, J. Hopefully now, everyone can move on from thus show.

Once again, this is a show that maybe, almost could have kinda worked IF it had NOTHING to do with Scooby Doo. But, because they link it to a MUCH BETTER show - it will always only ever suffer by the comparison.

It's a shame we have an adult animated Scooby Doo show with a unique artstyle and fantastic animation. Just for it to be wasted on Velma
This show sure likes being random for random sake. Regular Show can have something random happen a lot of the time, but it made a lot more sense than Velma.
I don't even watch TV anymore. There is so much garbage being produced now.
