I've always been compelled by this story my high school psych teacher told me about his freshman year college roommate. This guy came from a tiny small town, valedictorian of a graduating class of eight and the only one to attempt college. His wardrobe consisted entirely of clones of the same outfit--the exact same color and style of trousers, and multiple copies of the same striking green-and-white checked shirt. The guy never actually went to class. Practically all he did was sleep, occasionally getting up for meals at the student union. His roommate (my future teacher) lived out his entire first semester with Green and White Shirt Guy conked out in the bed. When Future Teacher came back to college after the winter break, Green and White Shirt Guy was gone. He'd dropped out. Future Teacher was shocked, but not surprised. I keep coming back to that story, how this guy had the chance to make something of himself but blew it. Part of me wonders if he should have ever tried college at all, if people back home pressured him into going because he was relatively smart, but the anxiety of being in a strange environment caused him to collapse.

I don’t get how these people have a kid and suddenly they get into bad situations. If anything have kids forced me to grow up and do better for myself because I couldn’t let them down the same way I could let myself down.
Unfortunately, that's often the case. People who are nowhere near ready to have kids suddenly get them and just refuse to step up or are just not mentally capable of getting their shit together. Whatever the reason some people just shouldn't be parents but become them anyway. I'm just thankful I have one good parent. Props to you for doing right by your kids.
The primary difference between the two is the length of stay. A jail is just a temporary confinement and intended for short sentences/less severe crimes, or for those awaiting trial. Prison is for those who commit severe crimes (felony) and is intended for long stay (>1 year), and as such, usually has long term services like education, rehabilitation, and restitution programs.
Some states like VA have regional jails rather than each city or county. ⚖ This saves $ & offers better quality training, safety. A "jail" is not a long term confinement. Mostly under a year or so. Many judges, magistrates 👨🏻⚖ deal with "frequent" crooks or felons. They drop charges, consolidate cases to allow inmates to get shorter terms. These judges, courts know the same felon will be back in 2yr, less.

Smartest guy I knew in school was so smart a engineering company paid for his entire college up front; seven years, paid for his aparment up front - the entire seven years, an guaranteed him a job after college while also promising on the job training in between classes throughout the time. The guy got addicted to WoW an was kicked out of the college before the end of the first semester due to never showing up. It's been 16 years now an he's still paying back that company for the seven years of up front college an apartment monies because the two never gave the money back lol.
HOLY CRAP: I wrote this before even watching the video an then suddenly 12:47 . Wow.
My 15 year old brother knocked up his manipulative, jealous, cheating, 17 year old girlfriend
12:48 - that's pretty rough, D3 isn't even a very good game. I could at least understand if it was WoW lol
"It wasn't my H, it was my friend's H" ... is he working for Jabba the Hutt?!
@@tsarfox3462 breaks my heart. I hope when my kids get older my house can be a safe spot for kids to hang out and just be themselves.
15:55 There's a difference between a jail and a prison? I thought the two words were interchangeable.
Bruh, what are the odds of committing a hate crime across the street from the feds?
Never chase what doesn't want to be caught

Imagine ruining your life because you got addicted to Diablo III out of all the things you could possibly get addicted to.
I lost about a year of my life to Dragon Age: Inquisition. I still have a soft spot for that game, despite everything.
Knew some people that got addicted to Diablo 2. They seems to be super proud of several of their level 99 characters.
One word: Cupcake.
In this video: Meth. So much meth. Just like most of the US…and Canada….and Russia…..🤷🏻♂️
The collision between the Stanford business masters student and taxi driver, my uncle was the taxi driver. I didn’t expect to find this story on here I literally went OHHHH SHITT U WOT M8

Honestly, I am saving up for a fursuit, and I don't want anyone bullying me for this.
All it is, is a cosmetic purchase. And for $380.00+, it will be a while...

Any person who takes any form of existential life advance. Because it all boils down to Yolo just in a fancier way.
I was actually doing this rn tbh I basically almost screwed my own life by not passing my classes I always dazed off but luckily even though the school is strict 24/7 and always clean they basically said if I go the summer school and do my work next semester passing all my classes I’ll be fine I wouldn’t have had to go to summer school if my dad did not die last last Friday... wish he knew I was gonna be fine and not repeat that broke me
It's the heroine epidemic
Was going into a gas station, couple sitting on the ground ask if I have some change, I say no. Then I hear, "oh dang leah is that you?" We went to Jr high together and they were the popular kid, obviously on meth now. Damn I guess the kids are alright here's some change.
And people wonder why I say love can be like a mental illness? smh

That's a rough story for your family. Did they both commit suicide due to the addiction or other reasons?

My mom was a narcissist and flat out insane, accused dad of cheating, divorced him, expected him to pay her way in life still, isolated me and abused me, dated many drug attics and criminals, nearly went to prison, got back into drugs, then drug dealing, then died cause of it. So yeah she went from a well off housewife to hiding meth and cocaine in my lunchbox.
I'm sorry that you've gone through that.. did you live with your mom or dad after they split up?
@@elin_ lived with mother, I was little and didn’t understand that what she was doing wasn’t normal and she had kept me away from dad by making me fear him and he was too caring to force me to come since I was always upset.
