I miss the old power trio sound... everyone has plenty of sonic pallette to work with, and nobody is buried in the mix. It changes the way you play. And approach songwriting. You do have to be good, however- EVERYONE hears it if you screw the pooch, lol! Players can use some epic tones, when they dont need to worry about stepping on someone elses feet.
The John Mayer trio was exceptional as well. John’s know for his quirky pop music but musicians know him for his deep blues sounds. He can absolutely shred.
Great music is great music. Every genre has some great music in it. People really cheat themselves by only listening to specific genres. Great reaction Polo. I really enjoyed viewing this with you.
@@poloreacts27 just went to see Stapleton in concert this past Friday...he was simply amazing..I'm a black man from Jamaica but I just love music that sounds good to me..I never dwelled on genre of the race of a singer...if it sounds good that's enough for me.
True that friend. I listen to a bit of everything. I can’t stand people who stick to one genre and say that it’s the best. All genres have great music in my opinion, and some songs overcome genre barriers.
Welcome to the Chris Stapleton fan club. Love him 💘 What a great singer musican writer.Mark my words he will the ledgend of our time. Keep up all your great reaction videos ❤️ U
Stapleton is one of the rare dudes where you wanna hear the live versions. Idk how he’s better live but he is. I think the studio production takes some of the heart of it but the live show lets that show thru.
I don't agree about it taking some of the heart of it. He sings with passion live or recorded. He's one of those very rare artists that, You like this? (studio version) You should hear him live.
It just makes me happy to watch ppl reach to CS...so I've watched HUNDREDS of reactions by SO many different ppl of varying talents & backgrounds. Your comments upon first hearing are f&cking cool as hell dude. You FEEL and know music on another level and im HERE for it. Instant sub.⚡️ btw....this dude is legit better live than in studio. I think he's a genius songwriter & world class musician. And his wife has a voice of an angel.
One of my favourite Chris songs is "Millionaire". It doesn't go crazy vocally, but the lyrics resonate with me. There are no bad Stapleton songs. He's an amazing songwriter and musician
He’s definitely a legend. His peers are in awe of him. He did a four song set that night. One was Tennessee Whiskey. You should check it out. You haven’t seen that version yet. He’s written enough songs for himself and other artists that you could listen to a different one every day for like nine months.
I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!! You're one of the few reactors that speak up and state this is a REACTION ❤I REALLY ENJOY YOUR REACTIONS I'd love to see you do CHRIS STAPLETON and his wife MORGANE "YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE or AMANDA live at GRAND OLE OPRY!!!
I say it to reacters all the time, stop talking over the song and pause it. #1, we miss what you say when you're talking over it. #2, YOU miss little gems in songs when you talk over it cuz they go by so fast. We know what to do if we want to hear the song itself. LOL
So agree about legendary!!! We've seen people who can sing like him, we've seen people who can play like him but have we truly ever seen somebody who can sing and play like him at the same time on the same level!! He's legendary while he's still alive I hope he knows how much we appreciate him!!!
This particular performance is the only one that has this guitar solo. The studio version doesn't have the solo at all. If you like his guitar, check out his cover of Metallica's, "Nothing Else Matters," (Blacklist). He also has unexpected collaborations with Carlos Santana (Joy, which is very Caribbean sounding) and Tom Morello. And H.E.R. There's no box that you can put this man's music in - he loves it all and draws influences from everywhere, which is why he can collab with just about anyone!
@drewsutton9792 The studio version is 3:12 long and doesn't have the almost 3 minute guitar solo at the end, like the Austin City Limits performance does (6:04 minutes.) The one in the middle is certainly very similar, if not note-for-note, but the Austin City Limits performance includes that extra guitar solo at the end.
He’s all around amazing!!! Once in a lifetime artist! I recommend “fire away”, not only is it powerful musically, the message is powerful! It’s a beautiful song!
Growing up in the" dirty south " l feel like the most blessed geographically as any in the world, from BB king,Stevie Ray Vaughn, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd skynyrd,Elvis and Chris Stapleton ❤ now.Just to name a "few"of the greatest. I'd put that line up of artist against any in the world 🌎 💯 %. Our music is so diverse, so well blended ,it touches you in a way that gives you chills and stank face like no other !
Stapleton’s band is really great. Dave Cobb often shows up to play rhythm guitar… JT Cure on bass, Derek Nixon on drums. Morgane Stapleton singing harmony… and sometimes Mickey Raphael on harmonica… sometimes a keys man or steel guitar too, but this core group… is ridiculous. A great bunch of musicians who compliment Chris perfectly.
Brother. I fn love your views and your humility in all music. It and you are awesome! This comes from a 61 year old white dude that listens to everything from NAS, to Beethoven, Conway Twitty, to BTK! Love your channel! Love and blessings to you and yours in the coming new year. ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
The bass player in Chris Stapleton’s band is J.T. Cure, from Elkhorn City, Kentucky - J.T. attended Morehead State University (my alma mater) in Morehead, Kentucky. He was there about 10 years after I graduated, but I knew a couple of his music professors, according to the ones he named in an interview I read . Definitely I can hear his bass & guitar professor’s influence. I’m so glad you shouted-out J.T. melodic groove.
Lol, i can’t get enough of this song, already knew Chris S was great & i love him but hadn’t heard this song, when it first came on my Pandora i was just 🤯 and i pretty much kept it on repeat for like 3 days straight & keep coming back to it, its 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤤🤪
I haven’t heard many of Chris Stapleton’s songs, but have liked his bluesy vibe. My parents played a lot of blues and jazz when I was growing up and I still love that music. You mentioned B. B. King. I saw him perform several times and he is one of my favorites. Joe Bonamassa opened for B.B. king when he was 12 years old. Joe is one of THE best blues guitarists-he was voted 1 last year by Guitar World. He often collaborates with singer Beth Hart. Their live performance of Etta James I’d Rather Go Blind is AMAZING!
Usually I come to these sites to check out your reaction of songs I know and love, but this time I learned something from you. I'd never heard this song previously and it will now become part of my playlist...
Your reaction videos are really cool, one of my favourite reactors. A chilled demeanour and intelligent comments. Chris Stapleton is a legend for me. He is an incredible talent, phenomenal singer and guitarist, superb songwriter and producer. He’s like a reincarnation of Prince, well, almost! Nothing compares…… O(+>
I love to comments you can't pause too much for me because if you're pausing it's a has created some emotion you felt like sharing and that's what reaction is all about but I love the most that you feel compelled to rewind back up and re-listen because every time I think oh I want to hear that again you stop and back up a little and it's like damn that boy can read my mind thank you for your authenticity and thank you for not letting people bully you!!!
You were wondering about the studio version, but, personally I think you would really miss out on the depth of his music if you only heard the studio version, cause he gives so much of himself to the live performance.
You’re a great and musically intelligent reactor, obviously you’re an artist as well because you saw and caught things many don’t understand. They enjoy it but you truly enjoy it but get why it’s so good and in a different class.
This was actually a first for me listening to Chris Stapleton, because……. I ….. was…. Sure it was gonna be trash country music. 😂😂😂 Watching you react and be so open minded, I felt like I have been missing out now and am hoping this experience will cause me to be less biased the future. Also, this video made me think to send in a donation based request for Stevie Ray Vaughan! If You like soul melting guitar playing…… oh man, just wait! 😂😂😂

Not everyone can have a “simple” 3 piece band and sound this phenomenal!! No auto tune, no nothing!!!

One of my top five but every song of his is my favorite He’s a legend💕 loved your reaction.
Best reaction and quote I’ve heard in a while about him. “That’s Music”!!!!
Probably one the all time best live performances any musician has ever played. This is 100% better than the studio version
Sometimes I cry and this one are equally amazing!
He is one of a kind, doesn’t get any better than this

He is not only the best country singer, but the best male singer in US.
about your comment about the studio version, in general, Chris is one of those rare artists who is even better live!
Never noticed before that he plays guitar left hand.. big fan of Mr. Stapleton
It’s really difficult to pick a favorite by Chris, but this song is definitely one of my favs by him.
Chris Stapleton is definitely 🔥. Fantastic artist. Love him. ❤️ I could listen to him every day.
I've been getting into country more and more as I get older. Country music like Chris is really good.
As great as his studio versions are, Chris is always better live. And he is NEVER bad.
Seeing Chris in concert last summer was epic worth every penny!!! Highly recommend seeing him live!
