Hey, you’re doing a great job educating people. You’ve helped me a lot in caring for the ball python that was given to me by neighbours who could no longer care for her. I had no idea how neglected she was by previous owners. Stuck shed on eyes, and they only gave her a hide while she was shedding for some reason. Only ever eaten live. She was injured by prey some time last year, but has fully recovered now. Her stuck shed has all come off. She is in a much more suitable enclosure. Still sticks to live though, but we monitor her much more closely and have actually switched her to smaller prey. She is much less hesitant to eat smaller items. No more several months long hunger strikes. You’ve really helped a lot. Know at least this snake is doing infinitely better thanks to you, even if you’ve never met her.

If you watch his videos breaking down how much money he's made from the company you'd understand why-- in both 2019 and 2020 he only made 700$ in profit in an entire year because of the resources he puts into rehab and care. Aka, if he didn't have TH-cam he'd be homeless lol

I've just taken on spider from a friend. He hadn't eaten for them in the nearly 4 months. Ate straight away. Any cheap spiders I see i try to get so i know they won't be bred. The 1 ive just got really struggles with eating...its like trying to feed a baby. Takes alot of patience but he's such a good tempered lil dude...or girl...they were told boy but I think its a girl...i should check really
bp's have puppy faces, minus the pores and since you're a rehoming/rehaber of reptiles, you're the type of person who would get sent the worst of the worst spider bp's since a less bad spider wouldn't be so quickly sent away. not arguing in favor of the gene still, just pointing out the situation is slightly biased

Banana pastel was my favorite too, until I picked up my new baby. His name is Gadsden, a banana het pied ball python with alot of orange in his pattern, and he is just so pretty. I got him last week.
The scar on the bottom could have been from scale rot, which happens when it’s too humid in the enclosure/humidity box, if the latter then the snake might also have spent too much time in the humidity box. It’s a mistake that seems to be made often

I believe the scar that you're referring to it the unbilicus. I work at a Vet Clinic and I brought my Black Pastel Ghost Ball Python in to get weighed and I mentioned it to the doctor. After some research, it looks like only some will retain the scar from the umbilicus, if the scar is lower in the body but not quite to the cloaca. Just a cute little belly button for their cute little pupper faces.
The first snake you shown is a pastel if im not mistaken. Ringer is not a morph, its a term for ball pythons that has a bit of a white pattern (usually rimmed with 'orangey' colour) coming up from their belly, usually at their tail. Its a good indicator that the snake is carrying a pied gene. Then the snake that you're not sure is a firefly. Super pastel has a lot darker bands around their alien head, and are usually a lot orange in colour. Their head are a lot more marbled or blushed, white colour. And super pastel usually has a busier pattern. This one looks a bit duller and has less busy pattern. Then the calico, i think its a calico pastel. There's a lot of blushing on the dark spots between the alien head and on the head.

i got a Bumblebee Ball Python (pastel x spider) who’s named Dave, i did not do morph research before buying him, but i am very fortunate that he doesn’t show any severe spider traits, but he is the love of my life! now that that i know more about spider issues, i strongly disagree with the breeding of them, but he is the sweetest snake i have ever met and has even helped me teach others about ball pythons/snakes! Dave has helped people overcome their fears of snakes and i’m just happy that he’s helped me show people the beauty of these legless reptiles :)

So I work at a pet store and I usually watch you to be more educated about the reptiles so I don’t spread wrong info and over the years my favorite ball python we had was a banana and butter morph. We usually don’t get many morphs because some people just want a simple one to start out with so this one really stood out to me.
I loved the pinstripe banana ball python, the super pastel ball python, the butter ball python, and the albino ball python. I love pythons that have a lot of yellow in them, other reptiles and amphibians that have a lot of yellow too.
My AC is also broken and it’s ALSO 83°! Woo! (central AC broke so we put in a 27 year old window unit that cooled down the room for 1 day & is now failing 🙃)
Hey at least it's not catapulting wasps that made their nest on your window into your room like darts from hell 😂 I have since put some mesh on there. But damn. I hate wasps so much and to have an angry one shoot out of your ac with a vengeance... not. Fun.
Alex, I bought a lesser ball python back when they were going for $1500. Now, I couldn't sell her for $500 if I tried. Because the market's saturated so much by the ball python craze, they absolutely depreciate in value over time. Pieds were once $3000, for a cheap one. Now, you can get a real nice one for $500 and a lower white for around $300. This was just in the space of a decade, it's part of the reason I decided not to go ahead with my breeding of them. The only way to 'make it big' with ball python breeding, is to have the money to invest in the REALLY high-end morphs right off the bat, pull what the dude who produced the first Bananas did, and sit on all the babies and not sell any, so they don't lose value with everyone else jumping on the production bandwagon. Wait 'til you have enough of these highly sought-after babies to sell, keep sneaking out info on them, delicious tidbits like good photos of them from hatchling to sub-adult, to adult. Prove them out, tease the competition and work them into a frenzy and then sell a bunch once you've got them hyped up enough.
I think that morph you were asking about is part firefly! The black scales with splotches of yellow on them look like flashes from fireflies, hence where they get their name.
I really want a white or a banana one, God just so badly. They're so mystical looking and beautiful. I hate that they apparently have a vision issue, it's my favorite morph.

I mean, I do like how the spider bellies gradually fall to white, and the pattern around the eyes is beautiful. But as you mention later, calicos have that same gradual transition and their eye pattern is also astonishing. Beauty is only skin deep after all.
BELs are my favorite morph and I had no idea they could be born with eye problems like that. Really makes you wonder how often aesthetics are put before health, meanwhile the consumer is none the wiser.
The one at 11:30 looks like a pastel bumblebee! I love those designs, but don't take my word for it, I am by no means an expert in ball python morphs. I'm just a fan.

My sister in law and their roommate got ball pythons from the same clutch, they’re spiders and I think they might have something else because they’re very yellow. At the time they didn’t realize the issues with Spiders, and admittedly other than a slight wobble they’re not very bad. But now knowing all the issues, though they have a male and a female my sister in law, who would love to breed snakes, refuses to allow their snakes to be bred because of the risks. It’s just not worth the quality of life issues for something pretty. I feel the same way about French Bulldogs and Pugs -I know people who have them and they’re super sweet, I even live with one (not mine, the people I live with owns him) but I’ll never buy/support a breeder of these breeds. Or any purebreds. It feels very elitist to knowing breed something with a high chance of a diminished quality of life just because it’s “cute.”
I work in an exotic animals shop in NY, and we get calicos in all the time, and sell them for $200 lol, and morphmarket price is $250-300 depending on the breeder for adult sized

I think that morph you were asking about is part firefly! The black scales with splotches of yellow on them look like flashes from fireflies, hence where they get their name.

Great video brodie, I have one Ball Python (Orange Dream) and 2 BCI Boas (Albino sharp and a Jungle). I like Ball Pythons, but man-boas are just 😍.

I really want a white or a banana one, God just so badly. They're so mystical looking and beautiful. I hate that they apparently have a vision issue, it's my favorite morph.

I mean, I do like how the spider bellies gradually fall to white, and the pattern around the eyes is beautiful. But as you mention later, calicos have that same gradual transition and their eye pattern is also astonishing. Beauty is only skin deep after all.

BELs are my favorite morph and I had no idea they could be born with eye problems like that. Really makes you wonder how often aesthetics are put before health, meanwhile the consumer is none the wiser.

I think "Black Pastel" and "Piedbald" are my favorite with all those "Fire" morphs

My sister in law and their roommate got ball pythons from the same clutch, they’re spiders and I think they might have something else because they’re very yellow. At the time they didn’t realize the issues with Spiders, and admittedly other than a slight wobble they’re not very bad. But now knowing all the issues, though they have a male and a female my sister in law, who would love to breed snakes, refuses to allow their snakes to be bred because of the risks. It’s just not worth the quality of life issues for something pretty. I feel the same way about French Bulldogs and Pugs -I know people who have them and they’re super sweet, I even live with one (not mine, the people I live with owns him) but I’ll never buy/support a breeder of these breeds. Or any purebreds. It feels very elitist to knowing breed something with a high chance of a diminished quality of life just because it’s “cute.”
I work in an exotic animals shop in NY, and we get calicos in all the time, and sell them for $200 lol, and morphmarket price is $250-300 depending on the breeder for adult sized
