I just bought a 2018 Honda Fit Sport (Aegean Blue Metallic, 6-spd manual). For what it’s worth, I’ve never (EVER) been happier with a vehicle purchase.
Bass Fern I totally agree! I bought the exact color but the CVT and I love the car. I went from a SuperCrew F150 to this and the leg room for a 6'1 man is impressive!

Does the sport trim have anything that would make it sportier than the regular fit? Aside from red accents and black wheels?

There's a Honda Factory Performance (HFP) option with a sport suspension for this trim but no engine upgrades. It would be awesome if Honda offered some variation of their 1.5 turbo under the hood! Like a Fit Si or Type R? I think the US could use more affordable performance-oriented cars, especially since the Fiesta ST has vanished. And the Fit is already appealing because if its smart packaging and lower price. Why not make it more fun too?

how has it been. looking to buy my daughter a 2018 / 2019 sport model. whats it like pulling in to traffic? what are seats like on longer trips? ive heard the seats are very uncomfortable. thank you.

That "strong line" seems to be the antithesis of form follows function. To me it is reminiscent of 1959 caddillac tail fins. Pretty good car, but not the most esthetically pleasing. That area where the gas tank intrudes into the front seat leg room - that are IS typically used by my feet. Esp if I have cruise control on, and am driving along on a long trip, my legs get cramps, get stiff, get painful, fall asleep, and get disfunctional, if I keep them in the same spot the whole time; I like to move them around, settle them down in a different spot every now and then. By making that gas tank hump area impossible to use to put my foot down on it, my room to move my legs around is severely limited. That said, there are some good features that were not pointed out. For example, the cargo space is not only large for a car this size, but the way the door opens and the bumper is position, it is lower to the ground, you don't have to lift your cargo as high, in order to get it in.

I can't agree about the rear visibility though. The view is quite narrow. A right side shoulder check is also poor. All around the pillars are large and cause the driver a lot of neck work. The big pillars are great in the case of an big accident but it seems as though a driver with obstructed vision is more likely to get into minor fender benders. It would be nice if Honda added their signal turn activated camera views like they have on the Odyssey.

Ah, I see Honda did add the right side rear view camera on the centre console display for the higher models. That's great. It even has the option to view the camera when not signalling.

Right, the CV transmission doesn't have gear ratios - it has pulley ratios.
It's a fit why bother making a 'sport' trim if you're not adding a turbo engine in it with manual option only? Good review. I'd rather buy a regular fit

Saw a black in sport trim at a dealership in San Jose over the weekend and the red accent in front and back definitely stands out. Looks nice.

So they basically added a body kit and thats it. Looks exactly like my regular fit just different color all black rims, lip (front and back) and side skirt. Nothing fancy

A fine review. My own Mexican Fit is an EX. It seems to have been we'll treated, for the most part, by its former owner. Seems to have great pickup from 0 to 30. Then, it disappoints. Even my old Mazda Protege performed better, overall. Still, it's a cute almost ute and is very functional. Fit and finish are clearly not up to Honda standards. There are impressions on both sides of the roof where workers apparently used a bit too much force in applying interior parts. I've owner two Accords, and one CR-v in years past, and this Honda doesn't come close to them in terms of fit and finish. Some rattles even have started, and this car has less than 24,000 miles.

Sport has a body kit and 16in wheels. The non sport has the 15 in wheels with hubcaps and no body kit. Performance is identical

Not bad, but they should make a HOTTER version with at least a 1.8 i-vtec 140bhp or perhaps even the new 1.5T engine in the new US civic Si Coupe.
If they want to compete with the Fiesta ST in this class so they should do that. Then It would go from a quite nice little car to a much more desirable pocket rocket.

This is a CVT model, so no clutch on this one. You can get it in manual if you like, of course.
Honda repplaced the uncomfortable front seats. I had 2015 and traded after a year.

Plastic dip rim came with no extra cost
Just bought a 17 fit in February. It's mostly a good car for it's price, but I have to say that this 18 sport model addresses exactly 0 of the problems of the previous model. Rock hard armrests, no more power, still has undefeatable atsc, so no real improvement... But hey! It has paddle shifters for the pansies that can't handle three pedals!
Increase HP and people will care about a new "Sport" trim.
jtl909 Exactly. I'd look at a Fit R type, if they had one. Something to compete with the Fiesta ST (which is my daily driver). The FiST is a legitimate enthusiast car. There's no reason Honda can't start producing those types of cars, at different price points. As much as I love my Ford, but if drive a Fit tomorrow, if they came up with a real driver version of this car. Why does Europe get all of the small, fun cars?

The engine is RPM happy. It is more than enough for a commuter sub compact in that price.
The market of fit is not the same with fiesta.
Try placing a car seat in a fiesta and carry a stroller and other things and you will see what I mean.
Just put the turbo Civic engine in.

Push button start with Smart Entry is standard on the Fit EX and EX-L, the conventional key is for the Fit LX and Sport. The Toyota Yaris iA DOES come standard with it push button, but the Corolla L, LE, and LE Eco don't have it.

Crappy seat bottoms. I am certain the base stereo is about as hi-fi as my Grandfather's 1950's AM radio. Base Japanese radios all suck...
The seats in the 2018's are more comfortable than the 2017 IMO.
