This video might be 3 years old but nonetheless it’s hands down the *BEST* one available online for learning Gingerbread decorating tips - and I loved the fact that Cathy just got straight to the point! I hate when people babble on and on… Not only did I appreciate every single technique on how to decorate, but I also appreciated all of the suggested tools and plan to purchase them all for my Gingerbread decorating party. Thank you. 🥰
I'm sorry, you only have 2.5k with a perfectly modern clean kitchen, great camera, and clean gingerbread with amazing colours and embellishments. You are very underrated and your ideas are extremely helpful such as separate decorations until they harden and then just place them on with royal icing and I love the energy; very helpful
@@vannapassion happy birthday 🤍i started watching today and saw this it’s 1 in the morning and me and family are doin it virtual so i also wana win😂happy birthday (mines was november 6)
My family has a ginger bread house decorating contest with all the cousins every year on Christmas Eve, we’re very competitive, so I’m here early to get started
I would love a text overlay that says which tip she's using at the time. For reference: Door outline round #2. Wreath: star tips #16, 18, 21 and 199. Garland: #3. Roof garland #16. Base border #5. Zigzag roof #5. Classic tree #18 on cone.
Great video and some really nice ideas that I never thought of about Christmas trees one thing I’ve always done is I decorate the sides and the roof of the house before assembling then everything is on a flat surface and it’s much easier to pipe
Every year I make one of these with my friends, I watched this video because last year mine looked like a crack house, needless to say, I do not have a 199-star tip so I guess we building ginger ghettos again.
So I bought two Wilton gingerbread houses and a Santa's gingerbread sleigh and the roof if shattered....I'll just give this one to my friend for the competition😂
Wouldn’t it be easier to decorate the sides of the house before assembling because it’s easier to pipe on a flat surface? Especially for doors and windows. Let the icing dry before assembling.
It may be easier to pipe that way, but even if you let the icing dry, it’s not hard to knock the hardened icing off your pieces if you mishandle them. Especially if you are doing some of the 3-dimensional designs she used.
This was so aspiring we got our parents to go out and get the kit, ours looks amazing but we loved yours - we've uploaded if you get a chance have a look
Hi Karen, there should be a series of numbers stamped on the box. We use Jullian date codes - a 5-digit number stamped onto the packaging. The first two numbers represent the year and the last three numbers represent the day (out of 365) that the food was manufactured. Here is more information that might be helpful: blog.wilton.com/how-to-read-wilton-manufacturing-dates/ Or if you'd like specific help, you can email a photo of your packaging to info@wilton.com and our customer care team will assist you.
if you are making your own gingerbread you can use homemade royal icing. you can decorate your house (if its assembled) with buttercream but it will not dry hard.
To be fair, she wasn’t showing how to do the houses, you can do the house however you want. She was just showing different decorating tips that you can use on the house.

Annual gingerbread house decorating is coming up. Our tradition normally falls flat. While we are creating memories, and are able to laugh at our failure, I’d like us at some point, to be successful. What is your best tip for the gluing technique? Our house always falls apart...
We always hot glue our houses together in advance of our decorating party. Even if the kids want to eat it later it is easy to eat around the glued corners and roof
You can find the Wilton royal icing she used in the video at Walmart and some craft stores. I do not recommend using a store-bought cake frosting, as it does not dry hard like royal icing does. Hope this helps 😊
Danielle Mancuso thank you very much. I don’t live in the US you see, so I can’t find the same ingredients and with the height we live in even with the same ingredients the results are very different. Thank you for your kind comment.

That's just perfect! We love your houses, they are super beautiful!
Hi I love how you did your Gingerbread lighthouse
Cute gingerbread house
Thank you for posting this. I was able to follow this to make a gingerbread Christmas crackhouse. The icing tip mentioned was perfect for the graffiti
LifeWithLanea needs to see this.
Amazing...Happy Holiday Wilton’s team 🙏🏻🎊 thanks so much for the Ideas
The biggest tip from me is decorating first then let it dry for an hour or 2 then assemble the house.
I might use this tip to make my gingerbread house this year. Thanks!
Really good tutorial
Love it!
So cute!!
Is it just me or did she say EASY. I am not going to have like 20 different kinds of squeeze things. Who tf has star one?
I have a kit of the tips and it comes with flat ones of different size circles of different size star and etc lol
I have a tip that I found very useful. It's easier to decorate the panels before you assemble the house.
Happy Holiday
They look perfect!

Wow sooo beautiful .my daughter wants to eat😊😋
Wouldn’t it be easier to decorate the sides of the house before assembling because it’s easier to pipe on a flat surface? Especially for doors and windows. Let the icing dry before assembling.
not exactly, because its harder to form the gingerbread house post-icing without ruining all your hardwork
It may be easier to pipe that way, but even if you let the icing dry, it’s not hard to knock the hardened icing off your pieces if you mishandle them. Especially if you are doing some of the 3-dimensional designs she used.
Really like the video but can you do the two gingerbread houses seperly

Here's a tip
Newbie tip: make sure you're using a star tip when making the trees or you'll get green poop emojis 💩🌲
Did you use Royal Icing for all the trees and everything on the house?
Is there somewhere I can find the template for the house if I make my own like you? Thank you for all the ideas and techniques. I learned a lot.
Google. There's dozens of templates out there, ranging from simple to extrodinary.
Its det swiss cream for trees?
I’m trynna win this year’s competition 💀😐

Do you get creamy or stiff pre made royal icing
How do you make this
Where is the chimney?
How do you make the frosting stay
do you have a recipe and more tips because I tried for the first time and it was terribal I hated it !
You cheated, you started with a constructed house LOL putting it together is the hardest part 😂
من پرونده های زیادی را گوش میدم. ولی حس دروغین نسبت به شما متفاوته. نمیدونم چرا. خیلی عزیزی.

Can we use homemade frosting?
if you are making your own gingerbread you can use homemade royal icing. you can decorate your house (if its assembled) with buttercream but it will not dry hard.
how did you do the red door? (from the green, red, and white house)
Hi. I used royal icing I filled in the door with tip 3 then used a spatula to smooth it. I outlined it with heavy pressure and piped the panels.
why am i watching this in may
I wish she would have shown how to do each house rather than jumping between the both of them.
To be fair, she wasn’t showing how to do the houses, you can do the house however you want. She was just showing different decorating tips that you can use on the house.
Did she use 2 different gingerbread house??
yes i decorated a bright house and a traditional house.
Como me gustaría poder enterarme ya que no sé inglés. POR FAVOR SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL
Hola! Tienen Wilton en español. Puedes enterarte de todo lo que aquí tienen en inglés.
So you want subtitles?
man. another video that makes this common mistake. you decorate the panels BEFORE assembling it. it makes it much easier and practical.
Her: I’m a Wilton house decorator
Me: Your icing is dry, that’s why it’s cracking 🙄

If I can’t make my own icing, will an icing from a supermarket do?
Royal icing is two ingredients, powdered sugar and egg whites. You can't mix two ingredients in a bowl? They sell egg whites in a carton nowadays.
You could just get lots of icing and color it with food coloring. Ez
You can find the Wilton royal icing she used in the video at Walmart and some craft stores. I do not recommend using a store-bought cake frosting, as it does not dry hard like royal icing does. Hope this helps 😊
