What i don't understand. Where the hell schneziel until end of story. And all bullshit about stumpede barrier block float unit it crap. We see zi artemis,guren special type 2 and new tristan divider. They can fly despite that barrier. Why all knightmare become weak. No vincent or gareth. This should be mass produced by lelouch in time he become emperor. And why no knightmare frame use hadron canon. This new look downgrade version. All plot and battle it just cheap skate. Just use fan service in this show.
@@kotaindah2 If you paid attention, you'd realise in episode 11 that the Situmpe Wall was disabled by Sakuya's efforts. Neither is the Situmpe Wall 'crap', it's a much needed plot device to keep battles grounded and preventing Neo Britannia from being invaded by the Black Knight's much larger military force. The Zi-Artemis is one of the small few exceptions because most of its functions are allocated towards flight, not being much useful besides that. The Tristan Divider and Guren Type Special weren't in Hokkaido either.

Overally, i could say it is a decent anime. The ending was good but the series was rushed, but well, there are way much worst anime in this world. In short: a decent anime, rushed, not very code geass type, the ending wasnt bad, 7.5/10 in my view
There's an "explanation," of sorts for why Schniezel isn't present in the story. In the god forsaken pamphlet of plot contrivances to enable the story that Japanese moviegoers were given, Schniezel "retired." You know, the guy who was Geassed into serving Zero in the outset of R2. That guy just retired after 7ish years of work. The out-of-story reason is because the original VA died, and it was deemed disrespectful to have the character be used, even in a role with no replacement VA (e.g. having other characters, like Cornelia, remark on Schniezel's orders or activity).
Hang on a second… A sequel series, wherein a resurgence of the previously defeated faction has returned with a wealth of resources they really shouldn’t have, lead by a mysterious new enemy who is revealed to be a clone of the previous evil emperor plans to launch an attack on the whole world resulting in the entire cast old and new fighting back, leading to final showdown between the villain, his former apprentice and his granddaughter who wields a super natural ability, and ends with the former apprentice sacrificing himself to defeat the villain once and for all… It’s the rise of skywalker. It’s LITERALLY THE ROZE OF SKYWALKER.
A big reminder of people making stupid choices during thos series...last time they had Lelouch leading them, a tactical genius. This is basically code geass standard intelligence we are seeing.😅
1)Catherine and co should have had consequences 2) norland was a bad villain, if he wasnt a charles clone and was a random dude nothing would have changed 3) how did norland and co make so many lokis with what resources unbeknown to many people 4) why are the black knights and kaguya so useless, they need new management and 5) it rly needed more development and a better initial premise of the story to be good
My head cannon for Norland is this. In a month between Lelouch killing Charles and becoming Emperor, Norland took as many resources from Britannia as possible, pretending to be Charles . This would make sense of how he built Neo Britannia and all of the machines. If some character in earlier episodes made remark about huge amounts of money and resources have been missing from Britannias treasury, and some mysterious sightings of Emperor( Norland ), it would have made for a far better reveal

@MyMediaChops I feel sorry for Japan, it was the country that took on Britannia and won quite a few major battles as well as being the founder of the UNF, only to have a 3rd of its territory occupied and then loses it after everything. I would be incredibly piss if I was Japanese in this world. Heck this show just set up the zero requiem for failure with all the new resentment and hate towards Britannians, especially the whole Hokido block.

It’s been a wild ride team. To some it up, I have never been so dissatisfied with wrapping up an anime season/show. I don’t even know if I want to list all my gripes and plot holes with this episode, each episode, this show. The list goes on and on. Even with this episode when Sakuya used Geass on Ash. If this is how the show thinks Geass works, she could have Geassed herself with the same command to beat Norland then it would have made her happy she didn’t do it to Ash, she could of commanded randoms/an entire army with that command to beat Norland, or commanded Ash he will beat Norland then live. It made me think of the Han Solo scene in Force Awakens where he says “That’s not how the force works!”. In the OG series Geass commands weren’t treated as a guarantee, but only attempted to be fulfilled to the best of the victims ability. Shirley couldn’t survive even with Lelouch’s Geass trying to force her to live, Cornelia & Clovis couldn’t answer Lelouch’s commands even under Geass and didn’t try to find the answer for Lelouch. Suzaku’s live command is stated to barely be enough to beat some characters. What about Lelouch’s whole war? He could have just commanded himself or his teammates to never lose. What I’m trying to show, is that there was such an huge power difference between Norland and Ash/Sakuya, one Geass command shouldn’t have been the resolution. Ash doesn’t have an ejection function in his Knightmare either? That’s just another couple things to add to the plot hole list…. Haha Thanks again for covering Roze live as we went through it all. I guess there were some highs. But I am glad I didn’t have to suffer the majority of this series alone 🥲
I am so utterly distraught and disappointed over Ash's death. Through all of the emotional anguish he had to go through, he deserved to live a happy life with Sakuya. I can't believe the protagonist didn't survive but minor antagonists like Arnold and Catherine get to survive ridiculous situations like being caught in an explosion or falling from high-altitude. The bittersweet ending felt contrived and forced.
Wow, holy shit that wrap up was abyssal. They literally just did a time skip and it's like the single worst war crime in the history of the world didn't just happen. Probably millions of people got turned into red mist and everyone left alive should be fucking terrified to walk outside. Sakuya acually becoming Empress and disabling her own Geass and ability to speak is a completely psychotic and idiotic combination of things to happen. The most obvious conclusion would be Sakura taking the role of Empress while Sakuya continued to work as a Mercenary or BK or something. And there was literally no reason at all for her to disable her own Geass -- especially in such a stupid fucking way. She never did anything bad with it, nothing in the series was her fault, and she literally saved the world from the greatest evil it had ever seen partially because of the Geass. And it's pointless anyway because if/when they want to bring her back, they can just use a Geass Canceller. The people writing this series had no fucking clue what they were doing.
Probably Lelouch was playing Pawn Promotion in chess for Sakuya, the only moments I liked in Roze of the Recapture is the Raspberry part of Sakuya, yes I'm talking about the maid cafe moments, it's adorable and funny, that's my favorite scene! Aside of the Mecha battles, why not just do like that...man, I created a fan 4koma comedy manga about it, and probably wait for Super Robot Wars featuring Sakuya in it! With Ange from Cross Ange!

As far as I can guess, he feels disgusted towards humanity because he feels superior to the rest of them, viewing them akin to mere insects. It's not explained in Roze itself, but Norland wears his mask not only to conceal his identity, but also because he doesn't want to even view or hear humans directly so it's installed with monitors and speakers. Which is why he's immune to Geass.This is from Act 4' pamphlet.
Sunrise cant help but trample on the Zero Requiem. Resurrection was an infinitely better sequel to the orignal series then Roze. They shouldve made a prequel instead.
Oh that's an up hill battle. As much as I'd like to see what things were like before Britannia invaded Japan, that's still something one can easily F up. Not to mention some people are resistant to Prequels. Just look at Star Wars for that, despite it did more to expand the Galaxy and lore. But because it was different from the OT they went on not just a hate of them, but of Lucas too. (an aside, most complaints on the SW Prequels are shallow and could easily be used against the OT: bad dialogue, needless fights, scenes of nothing, main character whinny, etc; only 20-25% of complaints have any actual grounds). Me personally the Zero Requiem is an idealistic gamble that should always be perilously on edge of collapsing. All it takes is one wrong move on the UFN side to completely collapse it, and it could create a global civil war.
Honestly Kallen in this last episode doesn’t even sound like she’s voiced by the same voice actress of was so off, but it doesn’t take away from how excited i was to see her even if it was only a few seconds
After I watch the show, I was crying at my bed, even I wake up in the morning! Think about the most tearjerking moments in episode 12! 😭😭😭 I need a sequel for Sakuya, and Super Robot Wars too! I'm glad Kallen is cameoed in episode 12!🎉
Not really the greatest payoff in the end. The Norland final fight looked more like a rave light show than anything really. Ash's death, 100% avoidable. I just hope they didn't pull a Katherine amnesia like Villeta. I feel the biggest issue with the whole season is how quick it was, 12 episodes didn't give much time for the audience to grow with the characters. We just kept going from one situation to the next without really taking the time for the situation to sink in for the audience. If they had more time I feel it could have been better but the story itself was not on a solid foundation. Also, I love how Gino and Cornelia are like whelp another issue avoided, like they have been doing this forever. But wasn't Cornelia somewhere not part of the Black Knights and only joined recently? I am curious where this leaves the franchise and where they plan to take it.
ngl it was just another fan service ova, i thought that if they had made up some deep meaning for why norland has to destroy the world would make up for basically reviving a movie series which was supposedly in its peace phase but nothing came of it

This what happens when you try sequel up/milk to a masterpiece like Lelouch of the Rebellion. You could say it's part of the alternate universe but still the recap trilogy still didn't changed much of the original story overall. Why can't just they adapt Oz of the Reflection manga?
Never really understood the reasoning for Norland's plan. Human extermination was never Charles's goal. Charles sought to destroy lies by creating a new world order but the ends were never genocide. Genocide was always just a means to his end. I do enjoy any Code Geass content. This was far from good but it had its moments. Hope future content is better though

In all my honest thought about the Roze anime. Personally enjoy the ride it put me on till the very end. in term of FEELING 10/10 Plot: Could have been better/10 Sakuya and Sakura: Top Favorites to me Ash: Gosh Fucking damn it, WHY!? Overall, I am having sad feeling right now mainly cuz the outcome of both Ash and Sakuya, wanted a different ending. I can't wait for your breakdown video, better be spicy so I don't feel sad anymore! :)
This show had like 3 good ideas and they squandered all of them 1. Sakuya's geass being a "devils deal" and not just a command. Never gets used after episode 1 2. Ashe being an enemy turned ally by Geass. Completely subverted and pointless because he literally would have been her ally anyway and there are no consequences 3. Ashe asking to be put back under her Geass for "victory at any cost" willingly. Good payoff to 2 actually, except it's coming at the ass end of a terrible show.
In the end sakuya must pay price for her geass power. Lelouch warn her that power will bring lonely to her life. After fierce battle ash chose to kill himself. Sakuya can't bear the pain choose to seal her voice and her power. Most of knightmare frame it not cool. Guren tristan still 2 of strongest knightmare frame. Sad pendulum didn't get show. The story feel lot missing and need explain. But the studio didn't want continue again.
One thing you have to remember, the main cast can't do anything because their story is done. So they are sideline now to make way for the new cast. This is what they tried to do with Gundam Seed Destiny, but failed because people hated Shinn, so Kira had to be the hero again. When you make a sequel to a show, the spotlight is now on the new cast and not the old.. Remember what Lelouch said that her power will pretty much bring pain and heartache. With Ashe death; Sakura was in to much pain and hurt, so she muted herself to never speak again, so she couldn't cause pain. Thats what I got out of it. Lelouch knew this was going to happen because it happened to him. I give the series a 7 out of 10.
Nah imma criticize the new character as they are. No need to even compare, they make themselves to want us to compare from alot of copy from original (ep 1 with chess, jeremiah, charles clone, etc.). If they want a real new cast, they could've had a villain and hero that are not related to any of the previous cast. Like a protagonist from a random branch of black knights, and a villain (a Britannian blood) that was a victim hate from the turnover colonies that started Neo-Brit trope. They could've used Australia or something and prolly got their strength from unification of all pro neo around the world in a surprise uprising (balance it by capturing the prominent black knight personels (kallen, suzaku, etc. making them unable to meddle with the series) to give balance on the series not the BS wall.
But difference is there is there are valid reasons why most of the cast from SEED got sidelined in SEED Destiny, while Athrun and Cagalli got involved. In Roze of the Recapture, there is a clear and valid reason why most of the cast from Code Geass should get involved, but didn't do that much.

Hey what's up Neozoic always good to hear from you. At some point I would like to revisit this topic. Right now my priorities are to make tier lists, episode analysis, character analysis, anime comparison and a break down of the series.
I still enjoy the battles, however, it's such wasted partial, so much wasted potential, this could have great, if you had to rewrite it all, how would you, for examples 1" get to knowing the shining stars better. 2"I don't mind Norlands goal but I think his plan and the steps to it should be very different. 3" no clone nonsense, maybe a geass with Norland because it would explain the mask if he overused the geass and would be a much better reveal and last on example Actually make it about strategy.
Basically every back up plan lelouch put up became useless for some reason. UFN it's leader just quit for some reason and is completely useless, black knights are part of UFN is what I got here, shneitzel just eating cake somewhere, zero/suzaku just attending ceremonies along with nunally while areas are getting taken over, ohgi and black knight leaders just not here, kallen same as suzaku etc I mean It know the way lelouch set up everything made it hard for anything to happen but at least make it so ghey aim for the weakness mostly like zero and black Knights
I wanted like other people for the series to succeed & to see whats new things it brings to the table only to find some recycle gimmicks & copy paste of certain elements to some degree.I can't fathom the factors that result in the final product( the production side).It would've been better if the lenght of the series was stretch a bit to give more room for character developpement , world building etc.Instead we get something that ignores the basic of writing by giving us "now this happened" without the "how".I feel now it is maybe an uphill battle for code geass onward regarding expanding the universe as a whole.

They tried to do zero requiem thing but the premise is completely different.. All the cameos were to just build up hype ig coz kaguya trusted 2 ppl one with royal blood & one assassin rather than black kinghts or their trump cards like suzaku or kallen.. These 2 main characters have knightmare models that can not just fly but go into space coz they're the main characters. I don't understand why ash had to die coz why not just blow up Norlan's knightmare frame & it was falling from the the space like height right.. Whatever. The ending was a mixture of zero requiem & the dark knight rises. The Hokkaido citizens had no emotional connection with ash.. Kaguya saying an Assassin saved us? What kinda msg are they sending. Sakuya making herself mute.. Lelouch accepted his sins her niece makes herself mute yet she's the empress or whateva.. So there's still royal blood.. Not democratic or anything. No one would've voted for sakuya anyway.. They'd have gone for sakura.. Japanese heritage.. R sakura & sakuya r twins.. They conveniently look alike 🤷♀️ Lelouch didn't appear for once through out 12 episodes other than giving geass. If lelouch had no intention to interfere 'alive' pps matters he wouldn't have given out geass in the first place. Sakuya's life wasn't in immediate danger like lelouch's case when he got the geass power.. Niece getting superpowers in the name of friendship.. Is that lelouch we know of. The tactical genius.. Lelouch took the sword not to gouge his eyes out.. His niece made herself mute . The devastation was sakuya's responsibility not her powers. Her geass was never out of control like her uncles. She should be one wandering as hermit not lelouch... Black Knights have completely rendered incompetent for 'plot' 🙈 wtf... How do ruin an already established well recived critically acclaimed show.. After finishing this last episode of Rozé of the Recapture, any good will for this series has been completely and utterly extinguished. I swear, the last 3 & 1/2 episodes are about as stupid as the first episode, to the point where I'm actually thinking that *Akito the Exiled* wasn't that bad of a show by comparison. The final act also shows just how HOLLOW the series is, since it barely has anything it wants to analyze or add thematically or in terms of messaging that previous works didn't dabble in. Also, the endings of the main duo Rosé and Ash are about as terrible as the endings of Lelouch and Suzaku in R2 were great.
It would have been better to use the series to build or Norland as the new ultimate bad guy that takes control of the Brintania empire to have Lelouch face off against one more time.
My girl Kallen deserves way more screen time than this. Glad their was a great series with her as one of the main characters. Cause all these cameos remind me of the better Code Geass anime that have come out prior.
Why Sakuya uses geass on herself when Lelouch is out there colecting geass fragments hence after she finished her job he could come and actualy take his geass back. Literaly good chance to use Lelouch again as Sakuya already met him and he could meet with her in secret to take the geass and she would be free. Like yea this ending is suposed to be like showing she wants to pay for her sins by doing that but it aint on the level of Lelouch deciding to die and giving up on wanting to live his life in new world with Nunnaly as his punishment(one of things i didn t like about resurection was Lelouch meeting Nunnaly again hence his decision lost that value of punishment as the death okey i could get trought that he is alive again even tho it was major part in it bc he technicly can t live normal life but sacrificing that moments with Nunnaly was what kinda ruined it fully bc it was his bigest wish to be with her even for a moment longer).
On the bright side we saw Kallen again, Ash and Sakuya had a pretty good character arc and the final fight did not suffer from Sunrise modern mecha fights of both sides spamming beams but only the villain did. But on the other hand, the ending just felt empty, most questions were not answered and finally like most modern Sunrise mecha anime with their finales, the ending is also completely rushed. I feel like that's a huge ring around the rosy for everything that's recent sunrise because they always have to make their endings feel like they're rushed out the door just to sell model kits or to sell us characters. At least your reactions made this enjoyable, I mean until these guys screw up the peace yet again lol.
if they were going to have a young “charles” they should have just done a direct prequel showing the rise of charles, v.v., and marianne up to the start of the OG series. what was the point in making a charles clone whose charles relation literally had zero impact on the story. such a disappointment… if the original director & script writers were on board it prob wouldn’t have been as much of a train wreck. resurrection was rushed and shallow but still had a recognizable strain of continuity and logic. this series is just ? nostalgia bait in the full sense of the term 😔
Sincerelly I think if the story was in Australia it would have worked better... 😅 Like Jugo & Sherry moved there in exile then Jugo entered politics & became governor, that why all the charas don't appear in the original & that explain how Australia was neutral in "Rebellion", cause they had that stupid barrier that worked right then!
Man what a let down the last episode was, in part ash sacrificing himself at least gives the show consequences. Everything else was so rushed and nothing much explained, i want to like the show but it gives very little to like. What a letdown for OG fans that have stuck with the IP for almost 20 yrs.
Im the biggest code geass fan there is, this show wasn`t it. Code Geass standarts are way higher than whatever this was. After 10 Years bringing something of this caliber, is seriously wrong in my eyes. 3/10 Anime.
The only explanation for why Ash had to sacrifice himself in the end instead of ejecting out of his cockpit is that he had to ensure Norland stayed impaled and does not try to eject himself… what do you think?
Actually if she didn't seal her Geass, it would awaken at some point and whatever she speaks will be an absolute order to everyone that hears her like without doing an "Order pose" thing just like what happened to Lelouch,he didn't know it awakened and both his eyes had Geass and it's always active. And this is not Lelouch's story,ofc most of you won't like it.They showed just a "Cameo" for fans.That's it.Stop whining.

The out-of-story reason is because the original VA died, and it was deemed disrespectful to have the character be used, even in a role with no replacement VA (e.g. having other characters, like Cornelia, remark on Schniezel's orders or activity).

My head cannon for Norland is this. In a month between Lelouch killing Charles and becoming Emperor, Norland took as many resources from Britannia as possible, pretending to be Charles . This would make sense of how he built Neo Britannia and all of the machines. If some character in earlier episodes made remark about huge amounts of money and resources have been missing from Britannias treasury, and some mysterious sightings of Emperor( Norland ), it would have made for a far better reveal

It’s been a wild ride team.
To some it up, I have never been so dissatisfied with wrapping up an anime season/show. I don’t even know if I want to list all my gripes and plot holes with this episode, each episode, this show. The list goes on and on.
Even with this episode when Sakuya used Geass on Ash. If this is how the show thinks Geass works, she could have Geassed herself with the same command to beat Norland then it would have made her happy she didn’t do it to Ash, she could of commanded randoms/an entire army with that command to beat Norland, or commanded Ash he will beat Norland then live. It made me think of the Han Solo scene in Force Awakens where he says “That’s not how the force works!”. In the OG series Geass commands weren’t treated as a guarantee, but only attempted to be fulfilled to the best of the victims ability. Shirley couldn’t survive even with Lelouch’s Geass trying to force her to live, Cornelia & Clovis couldn’t answer Lelouch’s commands even under Geass and didn’t try to find the answer for Lelouch. Suzaku’s live command is stated to barely be enough to beat some characters. What about Lelouch’s whole war? He could have just commanded himself or his teammates to never lose.
What I’m trying to show, is that there was such an huge power difference between Norland and Ash/Sakuya, one Geass command shouldn’t have been the resolution. Ash doesn’t have an ejection function in his Knightmare either? That’s just another couple things to add to the plot hole list…. Haha
Thanks again for covering Roze live as we went through it all. I guess there were some highs. But I am glad I didn’t have to suffer the majority of this series alone 🥲

I am so utterly distraught and disappointed over Ash's death. Through all of the emotional anguish he had to go through, he deserved to live a happy life with Sakuya.
I can't believe the protagonist didn't survive but minor antagonists like Arnold and Catherine get to survive ridiculous situations like being caught in an explosion or falling from high-altitude. The bittersweet ending felt contrived and forced.

Wow, holy shit that wrap up was abyssal. They literally just did a time skip and it's like the single worst war crime in the history of the world didn't just happen. Probably millions of people got turned into red mist and everyone left alive should be fucking terrified to walk outside.
Sakuya acually becoming Empress and disabling her own Geass and ability to speak is a completely psychotic and idiotic combination of things to happen. The most obvious conclusion would be Sakura taking the role of Empress while Sakuya continued to work as a Mercenary or BK or something. And there was literally no reason at all for her to disable her own Geass -- especially in such a stupid fucking way. She never did anything bad with it, nothing in the series was her fault, and she literally saved the world from the greatest evil it had ever seen partially because of the Geass. And it's pointless anyway because if/when they want to bring her back, they can just use a Geass Canceller.
The people writing this series had no fucking clue what they were doing.
Probably Lelouch was playing Pawn Promotion in chess for Sakuya, the only moments I liked in Roze of the Recapture is the Raspberry part of Sakuya, yes I'm talking about the maid cafe moments, it's adorable and funny, that's my favorite scene! Aside of the Mecha battles, why not just do like that...man, I created a fan 4koma comedy manga about it, and probably wait for Super Robot Wars featuring Sakuya in it! With Ange from Cross Ange!

As far as I can guess, he feels disgusted towards humanity because he feels superior to the rest of them, viewing them akin to mere insects. It's not explained in Roze itself, but Norland wears his mask not only to conceal his identity, but also because he doesn't want to even view or hear humans directly so it's installed with monitors and speakers. Which is why he's immune to Geass.This is from Act 4' pamphlet.

Sunrise cant help but trample on the Zero Requiem. Resurrection was an infinitely better sequel to the orignal series then Roze. They shouldve made a prequel instead.

As much as I'd like to see what things were like before Britannia invaded Japan, that's still something one can easily F up.
Not to mention some people are resistant to Prequels. Just look at Star Wars for that, despite it did more to expand the Galaxy and lore. But because it was different from the OT they went on not just a hate of them, but of Lucas too. (an aside, most complaints on the SW Prequels are shallow and could easily be used against the OT: bad dialogue, needless fights, scenes of nothing, main character whinny, etc; only 20-25% of complaints have any actual grounds).
Me personally the Zero Requiem is an idealistic gamble that should always be perilously on edge of collapsing. All it takes is one wrong move on the UFN side to completely collapse it, and it could create a global civil war.
Honestly Kallen in this last episode doesn’t even sound like she’s voiced by the same voice actress of was so off, but it doesn’t take away from how excited i was to see her even if it was only a few seconds

Not really the greatest payoff in the end. The Norland final fight looked more like a rave light show than anything really. Ash's death, 100% avoidable. I just hope they didn't pull a Katherine amnesia like Villeta. I feel the biggest issue with the whole season is how quick it was, 12 episodes didn't give much time for the audience to grow with the characters. We just kept going from one situation to the next without really taking the time for the situation to sink in for the audience. If they had more time I feel it could have been better but the story itself was not on a solid foundation.
Also, I love how Gino and Cornelia are like whelp another issue avoided, like they have been doing this forever. But wasn't Cornelia somewhere not part of the Black Knights and only joined recently? I am curious where this leaves the franchise and where they plan to take it.

Never really understood the reasoning for Norland's plan. Human extermination was never Charles's goal. Charles sought to destroy lies by creating a new world order but the ends were never genocide. Genocide was always just a means to his end. I do enjoy any Code Geass content. This was far from good but it had its moments. Hope future content is better though

Ashe's death wasn't exactly presentable. Norland's mech was entangled in Ashe's. The dead weight was bringing it down and consuming energy.

This show had like 3 good ideas and they squandered all of them
1. Sakuya's geass being a "devils deal" and not just a command. Never gets used after episode 1
2. Ashe being an enemy turned ally by Geass. Completely subverted and pointless because he literally would have been her ally anyway and there are no consequences
3. Ashe asking to be put back under her Geass for "victory at any cost" willingly. Good payoff to 2 actually, except it's coming at the ass end of a terrible show.
The final geass on Ash is litteraly useless . It isn't like Suzaku who it makes him stronger .
In the end sakuya must pay price for her geass power. Lelouch warn her that power will bring lonely to her life. After fierce battle ash chose to kill himself. Sakuya can't bear the pain choose to seal her voice and her power. Most of knightmare frame it not cool. Guren tristan still 2 of strongest knightmare frame. Sad pendulum didn't get show. The story feel lot missing and need explain. But the studio didn't want continue again.
One thing you have to remember, the main cast can't do anything because their story is done. So they are sideline now to make way for the new cast. This is what they tried to do with Gundam Seed Destiny, but failed because people hated Shinn, so Kira had to be the hero again. When you make a sequel to a show, the spotlight is now on the new cast and not the old.. Remember what Lelouch said that her power will pretty much bring pain and heartache. With Ashe death; Sakura was in to much pain and hurt, so she muted herself to never speak again, so she couldn't cause pain. Thats what I got out of it. Lelouch knew this was going to happen because it happened to him. I give the series a 7 out of 10.

Nah imma criticize the new character as they are. No need to even compare, they make themselves to want us to compare from alot of copy from original (ep 1 with chess, jeremiah, charles clone, etc.). If they want a real new cast, they could've had a villain and hero that are not related to any of the previous cast. Like a protagonist from a random branch of black knights, and a villain (a Britannian blood) that was a victim hate from the turnover colonies that started Neo-Brit trope. They could've used Australia or something and prolly got their strength from unification of all pro neo around the world in a surprise uprising (balance it by capturing the prominent black knight personels (kallen, suzaku, etc. making them unable to meddle with the series) to give balance on the series not the BS wall.
But difference is there is there are valid reasons why most of the cast from SEED got sidelined in SEED Destiny, while Athrun and Cagalli got involved. In Roze of the Recapture, there is a clear and valid reason why most of the cast from Code Geass should get involved, but didn't do that much.

This show is such a mess with so many plotholes, it might be borderline impossible to fix...
I still enjoy the battles, however, it's such wasted partial, so much wasted potential, this could have great, if you had to rewrite it all, how would you, for examples 1" get to knowing the shining stars better. 2"I don't mind Norlands goal but I think his plan and the steps to it should be very different. 3" no clone nonsense, maybe a geass with Norland because it would explain the mask if he overused the geass and would be a much better reveal and last on example Actually make it about strategy.
Basically every back up plan lelouch put up became useless for some reason. UFN it's leader just quit for some reason and is completely useless, black knights are part of UFN is what I got here, shneitzel just eating cake somewhere, zero/suzaku just attending ceremonies along with nunally while areas are getting taken over, ohgi and black knight leaders just not here, kallen same as suzaku etc I mean It know the way lelouch set up everything made it hard for anything to happen but at least make it so ghey aim for the weakness mostly like zero and black Knights
I wanted like other people for the series to succeed & to see whats new things it brings to the table only to find some recycle gimmicks & copy paste of certain elements to some degree.I can't fathom the factors that result in the final product( the production side).It would've been better if the lenght of the series was stretch a bit to give more room for character developpement , world building etc.Instead we get something that ignores the basic of writing by giving us "now this happened" without the "how".I feel now it is maybe an uphill battle for code geass onward regarding expanding the universe as a whole.

After finishing this last episode of Rozé of the Recapture, any good will for this series has been completely and utterly extinguished. I swear, the last 3 & 1/2 episodes are about as stupid as the first episode, to the point where I'm actually thinking that *Akito the Exiled* wasn't that bad of a show by comparison. The final act also shows just how HOLLOW the series is, since it barely has anything it wants to analyze or add thematically or in terms of messaging that previous works didn't dabble in.
Also, the endings of the main duo Rosé and Ash are about as terrible as the endings of Lelouch and Suzaku in R2 were great.
It would have been better to use the series to build or Norland as the new ultimate bad guy that takes control of the Brintania empire to have Lelouch face off against one more time.

My girl Kallen deserves way more screen time than this. Glad their was a great series with her as one of the main characters. Cause all these cameos remind me of the better Code Geass anime that have come out prior.
Why Sakuya uses geass on herself when Lelouch is out there colecting geass fragments hence after she finished her job he could come and actualy take his geass back. Literaly good chance to use Lelouch again as Sakuya already met him and he could meet with her in secret to take the geass and she would be free. Like yea this ending is suposed to be like showing she wants to pay for her sins by doing that but it aint on the level of Lelouch deciding to die and giving up on wanting to live his life in new world with Nunnaly as his punishment(one of things i didn t like about resurection was Lelouch meeting Nunnaly again hence his decision lost that value of punishment as the death okey i could get trought that he is alive again even tho it was major part in it bc he technicly can t live normal life but sacrificing that moments with Nunnaly was what kinda ruined it fully bc it was his bigest wish to be with her even for a moment longer).

On the bright side we saw Kallen again, Ash and Sakuya had a pretty good character arc and the final fight did not suffer from Sunrise modern mecha fights of both sides spamming beams but only the villain did. But on the other hand, the ending just felt empty, most questions were not answered and finally like most modern Sunrise mecha anime with their finales, the ending is also completely rushed. I feel like that's a huge ring around the rosy for everything that's recent sunrise because they always have to make their endings feel like they're rushed out the door just to sell model kits or to sell us characters. At least your reactions made this enjoyable, I mean until these guys screw up the peace yet again lol.

if they were going to have a young “charles” they should have just done a direct prequel showing the rise of charles, v.v., and marianne up to the start of the OG series. what was the point in making a charles clone whose charles relation literally had zero impact on the story. such a disappointment… if the original director & script writers were on board it prob wouldn’t have been as much of a train wreck. resurrection was rushed and shallow but still had a recognizable strain of continuity and logic. this series is just ? nostalgia bait in the full sense of the term 😔

Man what a let down the last episode was, in part ash sacrificing himself at least gives the show consequences. Everything else was so rushed and nothing much explained, i want to like the show but it gives very little to like. What a letdown for OG fans that have stuck with the IP for almost 20 yrs.

Actually if she didn't seal her Geass, it would awaken at some point and whatever she speaks will be an absolute order to everyone that hears her like without doing an "Order pose" thing just like what happened to Lelouch,he didn't know it awakened and both his eyes had Geass and it's always active.
