Hey y’all. It has been 5 days since I recorded this video so I wanted to give y’all an update on how my hair is doing. The side with the mouse def definitely is more like an Afro after day 4...frizz has set in and definition is pretty much gone. I think Mousse Def would be best used in a scenario where I want volume and body in the first few days but not longevity of the style. The side with pop lock looks better (more defined), but it’s still pretty dry. (Also to note - I worked out twice while having these products in my hair) So on day 5 I just went with a bun. I think pop lock could definitely last the 5 days if paired with the right products! (conditioner or leave in). Thanks to everyone for watching! ❤️
Thanks for mentioning your two workouts. I like Mousse def for my mid week wash and go when I know I’m going to do a wash in a few days. I’m interested to try pop lock since I work out and sweat out my definition after day 2.
@@STP255 That's a good point. I think it'd be worth the try for sure! I know when I use it for rod sets I sit under the dryer and like how it turns out.
I love how your hair came out. I usually use Mos Def for my twist outs and I love it. I have not used Mos Def by itself when it comes to my Wash N Gos because I live in a very humid climate. For longevity, I would whether use Pop Lock. Now.....I will say, for my texture, my stylist used Mos Def on top of a base gel and my Wash N Go lasted for 8 days. So, I say, use Pop Lock first, than use Mos Def as a Topper. That's the best way to use for longevity.
Each of my hair strands is literally like a black power fist. Like straight-up 4C. So for my hair, her products definitely work best when layered. I discovered my summer 2021 look by doing a finger coil with Big Poppa, Mousse Def, and Pop Lock. Like this is all I am doing from spring all the way through summer. Literally, my hair looks the same as day one and I am on the fifth day of this style. Not quite a wash and go, but I definitely suggest layering the products to get the result you want.
@@christy7516 I worked on it from Noon until about 2. It was dry by bedtime. No hooded dryer just air dry. I recently tried Big poppa on its own and it looks just as nice, just doesn't last as long. I sleep on a silk pillowcase and I literally did not have to do anything to my hair the next morning with the trio. No fluffing, rewetting. NOTHING.
Thanks for your information. I originally loved the mousse but my hair was too dry. Then I tried the gel and discovered that for my short (I keep cutting it) hair, it kept my hair very moist. No itchy scalp curls just juicy and beautiful. However, because I feel my hair is just as you described it with fist for each hair strand, it takes several hours to dry. Hence I tried the pop & lock. I didn’t really care for how stiff my hair felt. I understand that is hold but didn’t like it. Also my hair was really dry. All of that to say, how do you layer the 3 products? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks in advance!
Yes, do them both together. I am starting; my hair care journey. I did the Big Chop 1 month ago and I looking for products to help define my hair and help to my hair moisturizer.
I tried the Pop Lock for the first time. I love the hold and definition. I was thinking too, what if I layered the two. I love the mousse Def for my twist outs. I used it twice abs it gave me wonderful definition and dry time was on point.
I feel like it depends on what you want from your wash and go. If your looking to show off size/volume. Go for mousse def if your going for length and gloss. Go for pop and lock.
I love both of these products! Actually this is my staple line for stylers. Will you do an update a few days later? Also- you are absolutely gorgeous ❤️❤️
thank you for this! i’ve been wanting to cut down on products so i think i’ll give the glaze a try. maybe both as you suggested (would love to see a video on that!). fast dry time definitely interests me.
I know I’m late … but I wanted to leave my comment anyway. I use the Pop Lock first, then the Mousse Def and I have a true 5 day experience of my wash n go.
I have 3C/4A hair And it did not work for my curls. I’ve tried both I was completely devastated, and it was a complete nightmare in my mothers hair, who is completely a 4C texture , did absolutely nothing for her coils.
You make a good point. I actually said the same thing in my video where I reviewed the entire wash and go collection including the pop lock! But for this video I wanted to show them side by side, and there wasn’t much difference in how the pop lock performed anyway. Feel free to check out that video!
I think it will depend on how you prep for or pair the pop lock. This is my second time using it and it’s day 4 and still holding up, but I used that moisturizing conditioner with it this time!
I was just going to ask this as well. How does the Pop Lock Glazee last throughout the week? Through living, sleeping etc. I’ve tried the Mousse Def and because it is more of a flexible hold my hair just had too much room for expansion and it expanded right into a fro. I personally just use it for twist-out and they come out shiny soft and it last through out the week.
@@user-bf1hg2bq4y it definitely lasts better than the Mousse Def. The hold on it helps it stay defined through the normal day to day. Now I’ve worked out twice since styling it and it’s still holding up but it has expanded some. I will probably bun it and get another day out of it.

Do you think if you used a hooded dryer on the mousse def you would have less frizz - if you set it to dry that way ?

Thank you ❤️ You are dropping gems! I NEVER thought to put Mousse Def on a base gel. Now you got me curious...I have to try this out!
Can we put leave in underneath
what type of gel did your stylist use if you don't mind me asking?
Now... for a twist out, that Mos Def is🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾.
Yes! Please try them both together. I'm so ready to see. I love the mousse def and I just bought the c.r.e.a.m... Going to try it tonight
I have low porosity hair and I like the Mousse Def. Great video 👍🏽 I’m thinking about trying the Pop Lock, love The Doux.
I was thinking the same thing !! The mousse under the glaze please!! ❤️❤️❤️

Please, please.please do the mix of the mousse def and the pop lock! One Love 💕
I did! ❤️ I posted that video right after this one. You can find it in my product reviews playlist!
I like using the mousse def over the big poppa. My wash and go actually lasted a week using that combo
What hair type are you?

How was your results after layering?
Yes, please do a video layering the two products. A friend gave me the pop lock gel which I have not used yet. I have tried mouse def on twists out.
Thanks! I watched the video

🥰 GREAT JOB AND BEAUTIFUL HAIR STYLE
The mouse def and the big poppa sets it off for me!!

My hair texture looks similar to yours. I would like to see both products together. Still trying to keep hair from frizzing next few days

I just loved your video with the Doux's Mousse Def and the Pop Lock. I think I would rather Pop Lock. Keep making videos. Love Big Poppa.

Have you used Big Poppa from the Doux. It seems heavier and may give more clumping than the glaze.
No I haven’t. I may have to try it! How’s the hold on it?
@@TheAmbeintLife Big Poppa is medium hold. It's more than the foam less that Pop Lock. I need to get some Pop Lock to try it.
@@joycer304 Gotcha
Thank you for sharing! I found this brand at target and was drawn to it. I really like the glaze, I wish I had more volume though.
You’re welcome 😊
I don't think this was a fair comparison, because you didn't wet hair. The pop lock was made to use in the shower to Wash and Go.

Pop lock isn't for the shower.. Yes your hair should be wet but you don't need to use it in the shower
Can you test the 5 day theory for the Pop Lock? Does the wash n go REALLY last that long? Also yes, let’s see both products together!
