I bought this gel a while back and no matter what leave-in I used, it flaked with EVERYTHING! Like y’all said it doesn’t show on the hair but there will be flakes on my clothes when I fluffed my hair. Using a leave-in/cream by itself gives better results for me. Thanks for the honest review!
LOVE this gel! Back when it first came out a lot of naturals didnt like it which made me not buy it lol. Then I cut my hair, and I've been trying new products. I purchased this and it was thee best investment. I'd love to see how it works by itself. I think you guys should try their 24K gel next. THAT gel is the truth wen it comes to one and done. I get all day moisture with it.

If u add a penny or a few cents ur going to be at the next dollar so u might as well 🤷🏽♀️😂 I go by the perspective that when u pay for something that is 12.98, the cashier isn’t going to let u slide with 12. If ur rounded to the nearest dollar u have to have at least $13 to pay for it so just say $13!! 😂😂

Hey ladies I’ve got that gel and used twice. It’s a good product and it is the one I will be using from now on. Your hair look gorgeous. It’s doesn’t provide any moisture but if you apply a leave in before styling it gives you a better result. I won’t use it as one and done. I don’t like the crunchiness.

Thank you for the review! I will definitely try it out. When I use Oyin’s ‘Boing’, I get the same effect. It flakes all over the place but there are no flakes in my hair. Boing is pretty moisturizing though and definitely gives nice soft definition.
I love this gel! I also bought it with the 3-1, I hate the smell of this but love the smell of the gel. As a Chinese wavy this works really well on my hair. The main reasons why i bought it was because it's no glycerin and a enhancer, it's a strong hold for me and I've seen loads of people comment on the flaking but fortunately it doesn't flake on my hair at all. It's costs £10.99 here. Normally what it costs in US$ it's the same here. So if jeans are $100 then it'll be £100 here.

I did a wash and go and my family had a cookout today and I got so many compliments. That is one of my new pet peeves with products since becoming natural; to have the curl definition but on the roots and some strands is big frizz. It makes me so irritated because then I have to do my hair all over. I will try this with a moisturizing leave in. Thanks ladies!

Ladies I am so glad that you did this video. I just brought this gel I have used this 3 different times infact I was styling my wash and go with it while watching this video. I am not sure if I like this product. The first two times It lengthened my curls but they looked wavy and like they were heat damaged. My hair also frizzed up rather quickly and my wash and go did not last but only 2 days. I am trying this product with different leave Ins and I am applying it in smaller sections. I wanted to love this product but im not sure if i ever wll. Thank you
I REALLY wanted to like this product. It was just too heavy and weighed down on both my hair and my daughter’s. I didn’t have my receipt anymore and wound up throwing it out. I had totally forgotten about the flakes. I tried going light on the gel, going heavier or shingling. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
Hey Ladies!!!! You so described this Gel to a Tee. I have a love / hate relationship with this Gel. It's very drying after 3 days, but I like the way my curls look. And that 3 in 1 conditioner just sits on top of my hair, so that does not work. But trying to find a good leave in that might work with this. But love your results, beautiful as usual 😍

I did this product as a one and done and it dried my hair out so bad!! Even with the conditioner and sealing with oil it was no for me. My hair literally felt if I pulled a curl it was going to snap in half. I even used less product and it still dried out. My hair is similar to you ladies. Your hair did look great though!☺️
I have this in my hair now, but I used with the leave in. Doesnt give me frizz, maybe try again with the leave in. Even though you guys are happy with your hair. Looks good

I also tried the styling gel but I paired it with the ORS ButterCreme Styling Smoothie and I still got a lot of frizz. I dried my hair in front of my fan and I think the fan definitely blew all my curls out.

" it smells like purple" 😊...that sounds like something my daughter would say, one day, I asked her what a new hair product, I was putting into her hair smelt like, she sniffed it, and said with a straight face, the name of the exact product ( as she read the label)😔🙄😃. Anyway, I have tried this product, awhile ago, and had horrible flaking and my hair did feel dry, and I did use the leave in with it. It's still practically full, pushed to the back of the shelf😑... I'm most certainly am not grabbing for that product. Enjoyed the review though 😊... I'm terrified of bugs too...esp 🐝, wasps, and spiders😅😅😅

Melissa Torres Exactly.......this product would not hold for extreme weather conditions. Day 2 was humid and rainy and our hair did not hold up. We did our Friday night Live Stream on TH-cam with headbands and LocSocs because our hair had frizzed out. But now we know. 🤓💕🦁➰
It’s the glaze! As you wash your hair, the glaze/toner will wash out. You’ll have lighter hair after some washes. The hairdresser probably toned you dark so you wouldn’t go brassy fast.
Yeah , that’s just not something with our experience with them that we’ve really experienced. But what we do get is results 🤗 so we will still rock with them for now haha

Both of your hair looks gorgeous! I know you both got highlights and I am super scared of it because I got them one time over 15 years ago and my hair fell out. I was traumatized and never got it again. I have been natural a little over 2 years ago but I am not ready to do it. However, how often do you guys deep condition your hair?
NaturallyJackie We deep condition at least 2-3 times a week. We both use Moisturizing deep conditioners, definitely, but my hair loves protein so I alternate with protein deep conditioners as well. TaylorAnn’s hair doesn’t do very well with protein so she doesn’t do this as often as I do. Hope this helps you out 🤓🦁💕➰
I HATE this gel. No matter what I do it flakes. Soaking wet hair, a tiny tiny amount of product, even used the leave in!! It looks amazing when wet but it dries and my hair lacks moisture, frizzes out and is full of flakes. Gonna try the glaze next. Finger crossed lol
LoriAnne I was watching your sheaMoisture JBCO and I noticed that you are right your highlights aren't as light which is weird. I feel like you had more highlights in the front of your hair before than now. Hope this helps.

I clutched my pillow when Lori scolded you for that water; I thought you were going to die. I wonder if you will use the leave-in under it next time to see if it gives you different results. I hate spiders and I hate it when bumblebees come up to me. Lori I think your highlights look beautiful; they are definitely more noticeable when you do the up close shots. I've never tried the gel but the 3 in 1 is bae. I did try the 24k gold gel and it ended badly to took out the definition in my hair and it was dull.

So what other products do you recommend besides can't products? Any ideas? I will send back the spray too. That doesn't even work. It's like I spray it on and it dries right back up. Like the air sucks it up just as soon as it touches the hair. I like cantu but you ha e to use grease with it. So it makes my hair heavy and dirty quicker. And hubby isn't a fan of all the product that gets on all the furniture. Lol
And I tried this product I used it twice and I used it lightly the first time and it was ok but the second time I did it how I normally do and it was so crunchy that my hair like broke off and I was so mad and scared that I threw the whole thing out I will never use that one again

Alexandria East We just tested it today so we are not sure. However as we mentioned in the video it didn’t really meet the One and Done criteria, one being the hold. Though it was big, big means less hold so it will most likely frizz tonight and who knows about tomorrow. If we get 2 days I’ll be shocked. I REALLY wanted to like this product. It was just too heavy and weighed down on both my hair and my daughter’s. I didn’t have my receipt anymore and wound up throwing it out.
I had totally forgotten about the flakes. I tried going light on the gel, going heavier or shingling. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

It's very drying after 3 days, but I like the way my curls look. And that 3 in 1 conditioner just sits on top of my hair, so that does not work. But trying to find a good leave in that might work with this.

I did this product as a one and done and it dried my hair out so bad!! Even with the conditioner and sealing with oil it was no for me. My hair literally felt if I pulled a curl it was going to snap in half. I even used less product and it still dried out. My hair is similar to you ladies. Your hair did look great though!☺️
I have this in my hair now, but I used with the leave in. Doesnt give me frizz, maybe try again with the leave in. Even though you guys are happy with your hair. Looks good

I also tried the styling gel but I paired it with the ORS ButterCreme Styling Smoothie and I still got a lot of frizz. I dried my hair in front of my fan and I think the fan definitely blew all my curls out.

I’m revisiting this vid bc I’m considering this gel. TaylorAnne’s hair and highlights actually look great and the curls look silky. This was definitely not One and Done approved, but still performed well.

" it smells like purple" 😊...that sounds like something my daughter would say, one day, I asked her what a new hair product, I was putting into her hair smelt like, she sniffed it, and said with a straight face, the name of the exact product ( as she read the label)😔🙄😃. Anyway, I have tried this product, awhile ago, and had horrible flaking and my hair did feel dry, and I did use the leave in with it. It's still practically full, pushed to the back of the shelf😑... I'm most certainly am not grabbing for that product. Enjoyed the review though 😊... I'm terrified of bugs too...esp 🐝, wasps, and spiders😅😅😅

The 3 in 1 is my new fav! Tons of slip and great for that mid week wash n go. I paired it with the gel but I got flakes both ways. I thought I was just using it wrong. I like the results so I'm still testing it -- maybe ill try a serum/oil while drying?? It's weird that it's not noticeable on my hair-- it just shows up when I fluff my hair...on things/stuff (sometimes embarrassing)!

Melissa Torres Exactly.......this product would not hold for extreme weather conditions. Day 2 was humid and rainy and our hair did not hold up. We did our Friday night Live Stream on TH-cam with headbands and LocSocs because our hair had frizzed out. But now we know. 🤓💕🦁➰

I had to cheat! I added the softening milk then the gel, brushed it through with a denman brush and it gave my 3C curls a super soft and strong hold.
It’s the glaze! As you wash your hair, the glaze/toner will wash out. You’ll have lighter hair after some washes. The hairdresser probably toned you dark so you wouldn’t go brassy fast.

Both of your hair looks gorgeous! I know you both got highlights and I am super scared of it because I got them one time over 15 years ago and my hair fell out. I was traumatized and never got it again. I have been natural a little over 2 years ago but I am not ready to do it. However, how often do you guys deep condition your hair?
NaturallyJackie We deep condition at least 2-3 times a week. We both use Moisturizing deep conditioners, definitely, but my hair loves protein so I alternate with protein deep conditioners as well. TaylorAnn’s hair doesn’t do very well with protein so she doesn’t do this as often as I do. Hope this helps you out 🤓🦁💕➰

I HATE this gel. No matter what I do it flakes. Soaking wet hair, a tiny tiny amount of product, even used the leave in!! It looks amazing when wet but it dries and my hair lacks moisture, frizzes out and is full of flakes. Gonna try the glaze next. Finger crossed lol

LoriAnne I was watching your sheaMoisture JBCO and I noticed that you are right your highlights aren't as light which is weird. I feel like you had more highlights in the front of your hair before than now. Hope this helps.

I clutched my pillow when Lori scolded you for that water; I thought you were going to die. I wonder if you will use the leave-in under it next time to see if it gives you different results. I hate spiders and I hate it when bumblebees come up to me. Lori I think your highlights look beautiful; they are definitely more noticeable when you do the up close shots. I've never tried the gel but the 3 in 1 is bae. I did try the 24k gold gel and it ended badly to took out the definition in my hair and it was dull.

So what other products do you recommend besides can't products? Any ideas? I will send back the spray too. That doesn't even work. It's like I spray it on and it dries right back up. Like the air sucks it up just as soon as it touches the hair. I like cantu but you ha e to use grease with it. So it makes my hair heavy and dirty quicker. And hubby isn't a fan of all the product that gets on all the furniture. Lol

Alexandria East We just tested it today so we are not sure. However as we mentioned in the video it didn’t really meet the One and Done criteria, one being the hold. Though it was big, big means less hold so it will most likely frizz tonight and who knows about tomorrow. If we get 2 days I’ll be shocked. Next time I will put the 3 in 1 leave in conditioner under this if I want more control and hold and see if it helps. 🤓💕➰-LoriAnne
