In today's Polish lesson you will learn what does the word "no" mean in Polish. This word confuses a lot of my students, because Polish people use it all the time in many ways. Watch the video to learn 3 meanings with examples.

Native spanish speaker here! It's very difficult for us to get our heads around this new meaning. Thank you very much for putting so much work into your videos! I'm learning Polish like never before. I find English subtitles to be extremely useful!
No, na pewno! 😅 (Yeah, for sure!) Many of my students told me that when they moved to Poland they thought that Poles are very negative people, because they say "no" all the time. 😀
I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying my lesson. Good luck in learning Polish! 🙂
Yes, very confusing indeed, especially when I (often) hear this :"No, tak!". Somehow it always puzzles me :)).
Спасибо за урок 👍
Hello Miss Dorota.
So good lesson.
In Spanish we use " pues " more like filler.
and same as Polish (in informal ).
pues"si", pues"no", eso pues. andale pues,que pues...etc.
thank you so much.
Dziękuję bardzo Pani 🙂🙂🙂
Dzięki. Bardzo interesujący. Dialogi są świetne😀
Ааа... я понял )) "No" по польски ,это примерно тоже самое , что "Ну" по русски 😊 "ну , ну да ,ну так ,ну так да" 😂 ясно ,спасибо за урок 😊
Thanks
Thanks a lot
Dziękuję bardzo że bardzo pomagał to wideo bo ja nie wiedziałam co to znaczy (NO) ale teraz wiem 🥰
To świetnie :)
Dzięki temu!
Bardzo proszę! :)
PS. If you'd like to say "Thank you" it would be "Dzięki ci!" (although it is not commonly used). "Temu" means "ago" like "rok temu" = "one year ago".
No właśnie 😂 dziękuję
I love you 😁
Po polsku, proszę. :P
Ja chciałabym wiedzieć że np.w szkole używają słowa (No i) i ja nie wiem co to znaczy...Czy możecie wyjaśnić co to oznacza.
If it's a question it means something like and?... like you said something that is not convincing to someone and he waits for you to add something. If it's not a question it usually doesn't mean much, only sentences that comes to my mind with would be 'no i się porobiło" or "no i chuj w bąbki strzelił", both have similar meaning but the second is quite vulgar but pretty popular, you say them when something went really wrong and I guess "no" is used to put an accent on how bad it is or something.
Zehra, chodzisz do polskiej szkoły? Jak długo mieszkasz w Polsce?
Pozdrawiam Cię serdecznie :)
@@PolishwithDorota Tak chodzę do polskiej szkoły i 3 lata jestem w Polsce i uczę języka polskiego teraz trochę wiem ale jeszcze chsę więcej:)i dziękuję bardzo za odpowiedź, spróbuję to link i zobaczę
Pozdrawiam.✨
As an English native speaker, this one still throws me off, when i ask a yes or no question to my polish teacher and i hear 'No' while she is nodding in response. Even though its very familiar to me now, i just can't use it to mean 'yeh'... and so i just awkwardly say 'Mmhmm'
"Tak" is appropriate in every situation unlike "no". You may also use: okej, dobrze, jasne, aha. :)
Sluchaja piekna Dorote rowniez rosyjskojezyczni osoby. Byloby dobrze porownac z rosyjskim Nu. Bardzo podobny brzmieniem i znaczeniem.
I have a Polish girlfriend, she used to say :"no", I told her : please don't ever say : no, when she speak to me in Polish, cause we had misunderstanding , ps : we don't live in Poland
I can imagine it can be very confusing especially if in your language it means completely different thing. But for your girlfriend it was probably quite difficult as well because for Poles saying "no" is almost like breathing. ;)
