I think there are just guns like that. I haven't watched the whole video but I do know that around the end of the game, I had an SMG or pistol that didn't need to reload and had infinite ammo.

What was up with the insane fire rate and not losing ammo? I dont understand these "speed runs" where u just exploit bugs and use grenade jumps to go place that arent technically "in the game" - Its just a speedrun about finding the most bugs, its not even playing the game anymore
Speed run = complete the game as fast as possible. There's different categories. Some categories allow glitches some don't. It's just a different method/type of speed run. If you don't understand them then they probably aren't for you.
what happens if one of teh bosses drops a legendary? is it irrelevant or can some really help with the run? like a confrence call with the unlimted shots glitch?
The biggest boost a legendary could give besides bp is maybe a striker only if his current shotgun is way under leveled and he’s found literally nothing else.
He’s actually fighting the recoil of not only the shotgun, but 3 Jakob snipers as well. This doesn’t really matter on Gaige since she has close enough, which gives every pellet of his gun the chance to ricochet off surfaces towards enemies.
richard stephen also it’s not auto. Jakob’s fire as fast as you pull the trigger. If you bind fire to let’s say mouse wheel and with infinite ammo it’s really good.
William Carfantan you have to downpatch to an old version of the game. Then you take a vladof launcher and get it on its free shot (generally every 3rd shot) or the first rocket in the first mag after equipping. finally, switch to another weapon slot and as soon as the ammo bar clears, switch back to the launcher slot. In version 1.2-3 (I believe) of the game, you can only do this to save 1 bullet a shot, so if your gun only uses 1 ammo, boom, infinite ammo. However, in versions 1.1 and below, you can do this multiple times and takes guns that use more than one shot, (say, a multibarreled Jacobs shotgun) and makes them “infinite”. His other glitch is weapon merging which can only be used in patch 1.1 and below. You take weapons with passive effects you want (ex. Moxie healing guns, or the crit modifiers of Jakob snipers (and other guns with crit)) you take the weapon you want to merge, swap weapons, immediately open the inventory when the ammo bar goes clear, then manually move the gun you wish to merge into (gain the effects) into the equip slot of the gun you just switched. Take this with a grain of salt as it is currently six in the morning, I just marathoned lord of the rings, and I haven’t speed ran this game in probably 3 years, but I have been playing and watching borderlands 2 since it’s release. While these glitches aren’t particularly difficult, they do take a decent amount of setup and practice to do what funcannon does. One last thing, he uses a Jakob’s shotgun because you can bind fire weapon to scroll wheel on a free scroll mouse and reach the max fire rate which is higher than any other shotgun.

He did a weapon merge glitch on his Vladof Rocket Launcher which has a free shot every three shots. He's essentially applying this free shot effect to his shotgun to make it infinite. This can work with pretty much any gun.
As for the fire rate, jacobs' guns fire as fast as you can pul, the trigger, so if you rebind the fire key (M1) to something like scroll up or scroll down, you get absurd fire rates.

Professional innately he does a thing called drop reload it’s on pc and console you just drop you gun that’s low on ammo and it refills.
