exactly this - any schmo can now have cool graphics and realistic visual assets because Unreal and the Unreal marketplace does all the heavy lifting. It's about story, character development, progression, gameplay and immersion.

I knew the amount of money spent on marketing for a UE5 BR was sketchy, but paying DDR to read script in front of some gameplay is a whole another level lmao. Really disappointed at the DR but hey, I'm sure these guys have paid him insanely good.

It's a pity that this is just another battle royale. Not a story-driven single-player game, but again PvP. The setting is interesting, futuristic, the art design looks good even for futurism, and all this for the sake of another stillborn project.
It does have a single player story, you can find cutscenes and some details for it :)

I believe this is a blockchain game, so instead of buying skins, weapons, whatever you collect is a NFT that you can sell for real $$$.
The Environments look amazing. I just hope the gameplay loop will be actually fun and engaging in the long term. I just want a tactical, mature looter shooter that I can play for long. This is what I wanted Cyberpunk to look like, way grittier. Gives me a mix of Elysium and District 9 vibes.
The thing that I'm actually most excited about this game is the natural flow of the dialogue. I suffer from ADHD pretty bad, and I have problems following dialogue when it isn't natural. That has been a plague in the video game industry personally. I literally have to play through a game several times to finally start to get the hang of a story. But for some reason watching the original trailer from this game, everything flowed really well. I was able to follow along just fine.
I'm looking forward to this.

But, there's an upcoming game called Off the Grid. That video alone sucked me in! I'm looking forward to that.

But the fact that I don't play many games coupled with the fact that I have this issue, it's hard for me to tell you many games that I was able to follow. The nice thing is, you can enjoy just about any game without knowing what the hell's going on. Haha

Is there a release period known? It was supposed to be released in 2023, we are at the end of May 2024, when could it be released? No one can answer this question, I asked it everywhere
They are doing invites for a battle royal currently. You used to be able to sign up on their website. I did months back and was offered a chance to participate. So I would hope years end or early 2025.

They should work more on that gameplay. Enemies just stand there like dummies when you shoot them is just cringe. I wouldn't show this in a trailer if I wouldn't want a game to flop.
man i love how you kept all the NDA things that slide across the screen edited out. You know they do have a $50,000 NDA agreement out that will pin you and your hardware for every video and piece thats in the Closed alpha

Market is saturated with 1st person shooters. 3rd person pvp matters too. Especially since The Day Before flop and The Division Heartland canceled
If you think this looks photorealistic then you need to go get an eye exam. This is perhaps the lowest quality Unreal 5.4 game footage I have seen so far, textures look horrible for Unreal 5.4.
