I have all three. The BRS is still my favorite with the BYS a close second. The BBS doesn't flex WELL enough to flow with body panels that have different heights and ridges. Therefore I have to push harder than I want to. I have used the BBS for months, about 50 washes and it has softened up a bit, but not much, and still won't flex. They are all good, but I prefer the first two because they released the water better and follow to he body lines and curves easily with very little pressure. I wanted to try the big blue sponge, but some of the comments about how hard it is, has prevented me. Vegas to thanks for another excellent video.
Kyle Marx I feel almost exactly the same as you do but my choice is the Bug Golden Sponge and then right behind is the BRS. But ya, I feel the same way about everything else.
Yeah I’ve had 2 BRS for 7 years.. I’ve had 2 UBS and my first one shredded after 3 months. It was so weird. The foam surface itself is indeed softer, but the density kills it. I can’t get on board with it lol. I have yet to try the BYS but I want it next.
The sponges are not designed to be used on edge/end. Only use the flat sides with the cuts as it gives a place for the dirt to be pulled in. Also the second bucket with plain water is unnecessary, or at least it would be with ONR. I don't know about OP Eco Wash, but ONR causes the dirt to be pulled to the bottom of the bucket.
As soon as u put the mitt in the bucket it swishes the dirt right up and it’s all swirling around. I’d rather try n be cleaner in the wash bucket( even though it still gets dirt in it). The multiple towel method works better than any sponge. I rarely use the sponges as they take too much water. By using the multiple towel method u always use a clean towel and never reintroduce dirt. Don’t fool yourself, think about it logically.
@@DetailingBreakdown If you actually have a good grit guard not one with 2 inch holes the dirt will stay beneath it when swishing it around..plus you dont really swish it around. You dunk and squeeze.

@@Sherukka Oh, I believe it, but Benji does make a very good point here though about NOT being able to see dirt particles very well on a BLACK sponge. Light colors such as white and yellow would make perfect colors because you could easily see any particles of dirt, debris, and contamination on the sponge to let you know when you either need to dunk it and clean it off or stop using that particular method althogether if the vehicle is too badly contaminated. Rinseless washes are one of my favorite types of washing but to be honest, if the vehicle has far too much contamination, it's NOT the way to go or you will definitely get scratching or micro marring when cleaning the paint. If a vehicle is that dirty, you have to go traditional and Pre-FOAM, pressure wash, and do a full wash bucket type of wash on the vehicle.
It's not the residue of the all the dirt once it hits water that you need to be worried about and that's basically what your incorporating as actual dirty grinds but it's not. You would see the actual dirt grinds better in the black just like when you have a black vehicle you could see the dust easier than any light color. According to Yvan who designed the red and the black one is the black one is softer and made with better foam as foam has got better over the years and he also said the black one can be used with soap and rinseless but the red one is only for rinseless and lake country actually manufacture both of them , lake country have a blue one which is like 75% cheaper aswell

Hi, great video. I use cloths but have ordered the black sponge to try it (can’t get hold of the others). Apparently one benefit of the black sponge is that it can be used with soap/foamy products. Anyway I’ve seen a video of Yvan Lacroix also using detailing spray to dry the panels and foaming APC over the wheels and just letting that dwell whilst then cleaning the car (a decent APC shouldn’t harm the wheels if left to dwell) then clean the wheels with a brush and your solution.
I have all 4...including the esoteric... the ubs is my favorite because its soft but is dense enough to hold .. I find the yellow to floppy... saying that all are good... btw the esoteric isnt designed for rinseless.. it's to grabby on the paint and needs suds for lubrication.
Nice video but I prefer to use multiple microfiber instead of sponge ... Same method, I put microfibers in my bucket, flip in 4 and use 1 microfiber per panel than change.
I do the same but now I'm wondering if I should try these sponges. The reason I say this is that these sponges have cuts out right for the dirt to go into. With microfibers, sometimes I will not flip to a new side the moment I did a swipe because I just feels like it's wasting so much. But with a microfiber, do the fibers protect as well? I'm wondering if the spoinge would be more advantagous. I guess there's only one way to find out...
They all dry out when I’m done and it’s not like I use them a lot. I’ve probably used them a few times since this video as I just feel better with other instruments for cleaning. I still feel the same way. It’s just my opinion though.
@@DetailingBreakdown - So if given the choice you prefer a regular soap wash over a rinseless wash?
