I haven’t really followed Mariska Tunjung in about a year, but today, wow… she played incredibly well, and the improvement in her shot quality is remarkable
She's been always that remarkable in her shot quality, it's just she's always so inconsistent, and prone to unforced error, hence why she always had an early round exit. But when she is in-form, very few players can beat her.
What a humble players. Amidst having them compete each other, respect and courtesy and sportsmanship radiates in this match. It is nice to watch a game like this. Kudos to both and wow to big improvement from Tunjung ❤
A substantial amount of points lost by sindhu were cross net drops from tunjung that were falling on the right hand front court of sindhu. They were inch perfect with high deception too

I still think Gregoria lack of that winning mentality that would makes her the best in the world (Marin, Yu Fei, TTY). Screaming when you had 10 point lead was so weird. Its not like she was against ASY, TTY, Yufei or Marin (who I rate higher than Tunjung)
she was in pain on the third game, coach said she almost retired but force herself to continue. unfortunately she retired on the next match against ASY
PV should retire ! Absolutely, no game plan or whatsoever ! Just hit the shuttle and hope for luck. Look at all the players started at the same time like her ! They have progressed so well. Ie Akane Yamahuchi
What really worked for Sindhu as a player early in her career was her agility and strength coupled with her height advantage. But as she ages, she is only left with her incredible fighting spirit. Hope she can do something about her accuracy to minimise errors on court.
Sindhu is not using her height and reach advantage to her own advantage. Although she is slim she is not agile or flexible enough, she also needs to work on her speed, she is way too slow.
