How to replace faulty boot/trunk latch/actuator on a Kia Cerato/Forte/K3 (YD series) 2011-2018 seda

In this video I replace a faulty boot/truck latch/actuator on a Kia Cerato/Forte/K3 (YD series) 2011-2018 sedan.
Part number: 81230-A7030
Estimated cost: $30 AUD
Although the car is still under manufacturer warranty, like many things in life it's quicker and easier to simply do it yourself. Adding to the inconvenience of not having the car for a day whilst it's being serviced, the boot would have been practically unusable whilst we waited for an available appointment.

To hold the boot/trunk lid closed, I used an occy strap hooked over the release cable and hooked onto the passenger seat rail (after folding down the seats).

How do you replace the clips also I cannot locate the 2 Philips head screws on the pull down handle

Hi John, presuming that you're referring to the clips that fasten the boot trim liner then they should simply press in after squeezing them back into their narrower position. The boot lid inner handle has a plastic cover and when flipped open with a small flat head screw driver will expose two Phillips head screws.
