    Great, I was looking for a deck to beat Nadu combo, and here is Mr BeExcellent, being excellent. I'm gonna give this a go at weekly paper Legacy.

      Haha yes. Not dropping a single game to breakfast gives me a lot of confidence for other Nadu matchups. I think the abundance of spot removal and spell pierces does a lot.

      Indeed. I always have a blast playing against this master of the Sneak n' Show archetype.

    Dude, hobbits are much tougher than humans! I don’t see you carrying the ring to Mordor! Haha

      Haha true. This said, from a design perspective (and not a flavor perspective) Halfling should have been 1/1 IMHO. So should Death Rite Shaman and any other mana dork.

      @@BeExcellent80sx/1 creatures in modern legacy are just trash (ragavan being an exception due to sheer power). I demand a 0/2 hierarch instead of trying to make halfling a 1/1 😛

    Hi, what am I missing here? At 1:07:50 you say there is "no point in attacking" when your strategy is to bleed them out to their own One Ring and they are totally tapped out. Wouldn't sending at least a single attacker expedite your plan? This in my first video of yours but I'm enjoying the content, thanks!

    • @BeExcellent80s
      @BeExcellent80s  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sure thing. They had protection from everything from the one ring - that's why there was no point in attacking. And thanks for tuning in - I hope you find these videos fun and helpful.

    For the matchup against SnT I don't think siding out bowmasters is correct. There's more than enough blue cards for force, that shouldn't be the main heuristic.
    Bowmasters seems excellent in that matchup because you get to deploy a threat without tapping out on your turn. It punishes can trips and digging into their combo pieces and protection. And handling Teferi is cherry on top.

    • @BeExcellent80s
      @BeExcellent80s  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the feedback. I agree that since I already had so many blue cards, I should have sided out strix and kept Bowmasters - especially given that they have Teferi.

    26:00 "that easily could have been the strix instead"
    That NOT being the strix cost you the game. You play with this idea in your head that Ice Fang always has deathtouch, because it is very easy to turn it on.
    In that spot, I can see no reason why you wouldn't play strix vs a sorcery speed Ice Fang. Then at the end of the game, you would have been on 2 lands vs a hellbent opponent.

      Thanks for the feedback. You're correct. I hadn't considered that Emrakul would take away the death touch from coatl (because I'd need to sac so many permanents). Had I played Strix instead, I would have been able to survive the Emrakul strike. I would have still been in a tough position with only 1 or 2 mana-producing lands available for the rest of the game, and would have only been maybe 20% to win the game. But it would have still been a chance at victory.

    I don’t feel like keeping the ice fangs on the ponder is the way to go, shuffle and look at fresh cards seems better imo @ 25:45

    • @BeExcellent80s
      @BeExcellent80s  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the feedback. The strength of Ice-fang is it's safe to deploy, gets better in numbers, and represents more material on board, which does present a clock - even if it's a multi-turn clock. IMHO the matchup is all about safely closing the game, as they do have inevitability considering their density of threats.

    Can we add 3 aluren and 2 harpies to the board to turn into a faster deck if needed 🤣

      I love Aluren (you can see me play Aluren in at least one video on this channel) but I don't think a 12% Nadu meta is the right time to play the deck XD

    9:52 They didn't have anything if you had wasted during upkeep like you said. It goes back to your standard play pattern of playing toooo conservative as Pokimoke criticized you as have I. You simply refuse to play counters, removal, etc. You are a great tempo player, give up on control because you can't seem to grasp the aggressive control transition.
    BUG isn't personality fit you nor is midrange, go back esper vial, delver, etc
