Yeah, those weren’t out of style in western Canada till into the 90s either. Or maybe they were, but the few that were still around were the ones that caught my teenage eyes. Been a while.

never went out of style on the east coast. All through the 70s and 80s when I was kid those real choppers were all over the place still. In the 90s not as much but still saw them. I moved out here to Phx in 94 so no idea what happened after that however here in Phx thats what Dirty Dozen MC guys were riding. The FXR and Dyna club bikes came in though soon after. I scored a 69 ironhead chopper last summer that has been sitting since the mid 70s. The owner went to prison and the family finally got his OK to sell. Its just a sporty but its a cool kick only , hardtail with a magneto ignition and no front brake. Now its sitting in my collection waiting for me to finish other projects.

Panheads are getting harder to find. No doubt that bike will sell. In 5 years time it will sell 5 thousand more than asking price as is. Buy 10 Panheads today and in 5 years make 50 grand. I wish I had that kind of money. Nice old pan I could look at that all day.

Love the bike but I have a question, I know I'm not the smartest tool in the shed when it comes to the older Harleys like 1960s and before but wasn't the shifter on these older bikes on the right side instead of the left? Was this bike's shifter originally mounted on the right and someone converted it to the left side or what am I missing?

Huge difference between a talented builder making a modern take on a 60s chop and someone building a bike making it look like a 60s chop because they found a tank or a chassis. Those peanut tanks got hung on a wall when the fatbobs went back on. That's why you always see them for sale at swap meets
