Bridge to Reading's Interactive Sound Posters

In Bridge to Reading Foundational Skills curriculum, when introducing a new sound-spelling relationship, a Sound Poster is provided for instruction. The front of the poster is a colored illustration that matches a Sound Story that the teacher reads aloud (provided in the Teacher’s Edition). This provides children with an opportunity to hear robust oral language, with a focus on the targeted sound-spelling relationship. These posters are also available in a digital interactive format myHeggerty Digital Access for Bridge to Reading. Students can interact with the sound poster by circling the different pictures related to the sound.
In Kindergarten, the back of each Sound Poster provides letter formation instruction for both uppercase and lowercase letters. The teacher will use this language during handwriting instruction prior to the children practicing letter formation in their student READ Books.
