If you watch closely you will see a number of physical cues that are common to raccoon behavior including raising one of the front paws when thinking about what to do next to shaking to ward off stress and retracting their "lips" when really stressed. BB

*WHEW* Our boy REALLY filled out since last time! I’m glad he’s okay! I was almost certain we’d never see him again 🙏🏾

Funny how they knocked the camera over but it captured the blue jay

Awww, I remember when the mommas and baby coons started coming around in spring but now the spring babies come on their own but still sometimes stick together with their siblings.

"Stick to the trails" is definitely wise advice.
I enjoyed learning more aboht raccoon behavior. And I'm really glad they found each other again! 😊

Poor birds foraging on the ground are nervous wrecks.

Yes, and right now there is an acorn glut and the jays and squirrels which is good news except that they are busy on the ground burying them which gives them more predator exposure. BB

Somebody could make a costumed theater play out of it: remember kids, follow the trail if you are separated from mama and avoid strangers

I'm suspecting your camera make some kind of noise because the cat stares at it frequently so does the raccoon and the bird when he was eating or foraging he turned itself inside-out to look at that camera for a minute.

I know that raccoons may sometimes predate upon feral kittens, but have feral cats been known to kill juvenile racccoons?

The young raccoons usually don't leave their den until big enough to be too big for a feral cat, that said though, mother raccoon sticks close! BB
