It looks like you can't go wrong with either trike. I wonder if the higher output motor on the Fat Tire Trike is to compensate for the larger radius of wheel that would require a bit more torque. The larger wheel should make for a more comfortable ride and will be less prone to tracking in trails. But as you say it really is a preference that each person would have to consider. Thank you for your information and shining light on paths that might not be considered.

I am totally impartial. I know for myself I would buy the Bolton. I like the folding option, the use of rear fenders, front and rear baskets, nicer seat.

For me out of those two, and not having ridden either, I would want the Fat Tire. Also the customer service seems great., at least to you Rusty! Your helping sell alot of those trikes for both companies! Thank You, Great Review!
To help you out a little.
The batteries are 48 vokt 12 amp HOURS not amps. The control box determines how many amps and watts go to the motors.
The green trike has 4 inch wide wheels verses the thinner ones on the Bolton.
Both have front and rear disc brakes I assume they are standard manual cable and NOT hydraulic. Hydraulics provide a little more power to stop and easier to pull\apply.
The discs on the trikes are either 160 or 180 mm. Larger (180) would provide more stopping power.
The other difference is the green trike looks to have the disc on the axle which may stop both back wheels at once, where the Bolton may be on only one wheel?. Stopping both back wheels is better.
Also the Bolton seems to have a lower center of gravity which ? May? Bive it a little better cornering, but then again the fatter tires may offset this.
The fater tires provide more cousion.
The larger motor will not increase speed (that is done by the control box) But the large motor will pull more amps/watts so you will have more torque for going up hills. However the largwr motor means faster battery drain...
Most important thing is for someone to learn how to drive a trike.
They dont take coners at high speeds very well and will tip over...
Secondly, never put your feet down to stop, as they could get drug under the back tires\ axles and cause SERIOUS injury...
Also dont try to jump off curbs in a parallel position, obe back wheels could go off first and make the trike tilt very bad and make it unstable, always try to go over an object head on...
I like the fenders on the Bolton Fat tire. It also folds up. I like the idea of a larger tire on the front of the black one.

Rusty I like the Bolton more compact like the folding one tube design turning radius would be shorter and take off speed quicker has fenders keep the rain dirt off you You can also add a front shock and seat both are great bikes with advantages and disadvantages it is what you want and makes you happy!!!
I think the Bolton fits your needs with less hassle even though the Liberty is nicer.
which you can get into your truck easier.?.. go with that .. it will make your life easier for you... now and in the future..
Rusty, you've done a good video. I have a 2019 Rad Rover electric fat tire bike and I love it. The only problem is that I'm 82 and I get gently thrown about 10% of the times I ride it. That's because I live in the high desert of Southern California and all the area around my house is soft blow sand about two or three inches deep. I would buy the larger of the trikes you've shown if the shipping was included in the 2000 bucks. My 2019 Rad Rover was $1499 with free shipping (and the state tax paid), right to my front gate, and its a great piece of machinery well worth the price.
I would use the trike when I wasn't up for a struggle with the slippery sand on the Rad Rover.

Weigh the maintenance cost: batteries, tires, ect. Comfort longevity. More power is not always applicable in some cases.
I've ridden bikes without fenders, and one can get dirty and wet from the back tires pretty easily. I vote for folding and fenders when I am just looking. When I put my money down, it might be a different story.
Yes, I would want the fenders too, I wonder if those could be added.

You might want to pick up an extra battery since it only has an 8 to 12 mile. That seems sort of limited to me. I'm close to your age (73) and have a Sondors fat tire that has around a 25 mile range depending on terrain. I love it but might move to the trike as time goes on. You're doing a great job on your videos 😊.

I've ridden 16 miles and battery is at 60%...range is much greater. Est 30 miles.
The fat tire bike if it had fenders please note these bikes with fat tires can in theory handle snowy conditions. Living on the prairies I wish the range was greater. I d need over a hundred km to go any where so two batteries are a must especially for a one way trip

Both are really nice. The fat tire trike doesn’t have rear fenders or a front basket though.
Cool stuff but what can you suggest to transport one of these using a hitch type carrier that folds up when not used? I don’t want to use a trailer so …. Still looking

I love the fat tire because of its power and more bike like. I know I mentioned this before but a brooks saddle is the most comfort. It’s counter intuitive being hard leather but I am 67 ride all day on that saddle. Brooks is the best.

My wife has similar off road or city mobility three wheelers that booth go 15 to 20 mph, my biggest challenge is transporting, the rear wheel drive unit is 5 years old , is very powerful, 300lbs and her favorite , however, her 1.5 year old front wheel drive smaller unit folds and easily fits in my RV or mini cooper tow vehicle , the rear wheel drive unit doesnt fold and requires my pickup with ramps to transport, no longer feasible with my motorhome, Based on your travel I would suggest the white folding unit
Go for the Fat tire 'sponsored' trike ! Better ride, stronger on hills (more power) and FREE. A no brainer. Good luck in whatever decision you make.

Very hard choice, so like you said it depends what YOU are going to do with it? For ME, just my opinion I would choose the Fat Tire from E-Liberty. Why? I like beefy and Stout! Thanks for comparing.
Both bikes having 48 volt 12ah batteries, the 500 watt Bolton will travel further than the 750 watt with the fatter tires, with an equal charge. I like all 3, but would want the extra speed of the 48 volt models, and one with fold up capabilities for travelling.

You can adjust the brakes on the Bolton. I personally like that trike better for you. The extra storage, the fact that it folds and fits in your truck is also a plus. And it it white just like the casita 😀 and the truck! Anyways have a great day get one of those good hot dogs from the food truck 🤤makes my mouth water

It looks like neither of the trikes have dual rear wheel drive, since I do not see a differential. So how do they handle? And it looks like the motors are geared and not direct drive, aka, magnetic. I like the fat tired version. I do not drive due to bad vision, and I need a bike for winter time riding. I have a two wheeled recumbent that I converted to a E-bike back in August and its great, but not so great on snow and ice. Okay, if I'd waited till you said max carrying capacity, that would have told me, they are geared hub motors, and they actually have a load capacity of 300 pounds.

@@rusty78609 Yes I know that, what I am referring too, is the pedal set up. It looks like those two trikes have the standard one wheel drive in the back, pedal wise, and I have heard they can be tricky to turn at speed.

I was so excited to finally purchase my Rad Power ebike, which I still think is a great bike, but, I discovered, at 63 years of age, my balance and strength are not what they were 30 years ago! I also have a bum knee that doesn't like the pedaling position, which is why I loved the idea of a power bike--no pedaling. Sadly, I'm more fearful since I've fallen with it a couple of times. The bike is heavy, and I'm short. I just want to get outside, venture away from my front yard, and feel the joy of tooling around the neighorhoods safely. The etrike should have been my first purchase, but, I didn't know they existed, and I didn't know I would be too scared of falling on 2 wheels. Age changes reality.

I would not buy either of them, with the drive motor in the front wheel. There is one company that has one with a mid drive motor the only way to go
