With so much at our fingertips with the internet and youtube I can easily forget how epic it is to be able to see vids of legends like these guys just jamming and what not. It amazes me sometimes how we can take these moments for granted. Thank you for this video really cool stuff here!!
Treys humility supersedes his ability sometimes in the presence of other musicians, which is fine because it shows his strong respect for the music. Sometimes you want his brush Strokes to be a little bit more heavy but it's okay that they're not, it shows his absolute love for music and the people that play it. And we love him for it. Also how good is herbie here? Come on. Love seeing a fellow musician geeking out on tonal shapes.

It's from a Hancock collaboration DVD/CD called "Possibilities". He also collaborates with John Mayer, Paul Simon, Johnny Lang, Christina Aguilera...among others. Truly awesome DVD. I highly recommend!
LOL, Trey makes a major ass of himself from 3:20, and Herbie brings him back down to earth at 3:38. I can only hope that was more drugged Trey and he's not really like that overall, but i don't know him and don't hang out with him on weekends, but all i can do is go by what is documented indisputably w/o speculating, what's captured here on video .

Trey's played over 1800 2-3 hour shows with probably 5000 notable, to godlike improvisations of which you can easily go listen to right now. I think you can give him more credit than treating him like a average college guitarist.
Herbie’s whole point on that album was to venture outside his comfort zone and take new ideas from other musicians. If anything, Trey was a little too star struck and not bringing enough of his style to the music.
