- Hands down the most requested sneaker in the comment section! In today's Shoe Care Academy episode, Vick Almighty took on the Lost and Found Jordan 1s using the RESHOEVN8R Essential Cleaning Kit.
Now.. The comments let us know that a lot could go wrong with these sneakers and that the red color has a tendency to bleed, the white leather could chip, the possibilities were endless. What do you think went wrong in today's cleaning?!
Moving onto the cleaning portion; these sneakers were worn to mow the grass... I know before you say it, Who wears Jordan's to do yard work?! Well the answer is none other than Vick Almighty. To remove the grime, grass stains and all that came along with the dirtying process, we relied heavily on the Essential Cleaning Kit.
The Soft Bristle Brush was used to break down on the grime on the uppers by creating all the suds necessary, while the Medium Bristle Brush worked its magic on the grass stained midsole and finally that Stiff Bristle Brush went to work on the outsole of the sneaker. After a quick air dry, these results speak for themselves.

Keeping leather like that crispy is super tricky. You could definitely condition the leather with some Angelus Leather Balm and shine them with a brush after. But there’s a chance the leather could bleed a bit more if even water alone makes it lose color.
so glad this was made. been stressing and even commenting on this channel on how I'm afraid of the bleeding on the white
i got some really deep yellow paint or chalk on my dunks and i used hydrogen peroxide and baking powder. just make sure to tape off the colored parts so it doesn’t bleach or take off the paint

I had the red leather bleed onto the sole though maybe I used too much solution after watching this video helped me do it without it bleeding

We did a resto on repairing scratches, but for this you could stuff the toe box with Shoe Trees or towels.

man its crazy how bad this shoe does with water/cleaning. the leather absorbs water like crazy. i thought maybe it was just my pair but even VIC had the same issue.

Did you have issues cleaning the white cracked leather? Do I need to be extremely careful not making the cracking worse?
Yes! Be gentle with brushes and make sure you are not spot cleaning the shoes. Once the shoes are clean and dried, recondition the leather on your sneakers with RESHOEVN8R Mink Oil.

Wouldn’t the chipped leather come off with the rubbing from the brush? With my pair,I tried cleaning the white but it seems like the loose “chipped” paint comes off.

I am thinking about coating the white with otter wax leather balm to make it more resistant to the red bleeding onto it. Might clean a little easier. Also wonder if mr clean magic eraser would help?

First thing I did with this shoe was spray them down with Reshoven8r water repellent.
I’d love too see a video of Vic putting some mink oil conditioner on these i myself and worried about the war with the water and the red rubbing off
The Mink oil should be used at the end when the shoes are complete dried.

The Mink oil is to regain the shine and texture of the shoes. You can use it on new shoes though. Make sure the shoes are clean and completely dry.
@@RESHOEVN8Rok so I have kiwi conditioning oil also is waterproof as well do you think if it applied it onto my new lost and founds with two separate rags you think if I did it that way they wouldn’t bleed ?

Hey Vick, would using deoxidation in UV light remove the vintage/sail color used on the midsoles? I wanted the L&F, Reimagined 3s, and Skylines but I don't like the aged esthetic that Nike/Jordan brand are using on the shoes, specifically on the midsole areas. The midsole on your pair pretty much look white or at the very least light creme. I've never seen L&F or Reimagined 3s in person. Did the Vick 6000 lessen the effect or were the midsoles not as dark/tinted sail as they appear in many photos and videos?
I don't think it would affect those midsoles.

Hey would you recommend putting mink oil on the lost and founds to preserve the color not bleeding anywhere on the shoes?
It wouldn't help with the bleeding, but it would help with the leather.
The red on mine bled like crazy when I tried to watch them like this. Had to wipe everything off real quick.

I know this video is months old but I just got my pair, is it okay to spot clean the red and white leather with a wipe/ room temp water with microfiber cloth? Or will that make the shoe paint uneven with the rest of the shoe?
Usually, we don't recommend spot cleaning. However, as you mentioned this is a leather material. Hence, you can give it a try.

I was up all night in 2015 trying to get the chicagos rerelease, I submitted my payment and a couple of secs later, an error message popped up, and the shoes were sold out. Right away, not even a minute. How are real consumers (not resellers) supposed to enjoy a nice pair of Jordans.
Is there a conditioner for the older leather to keep them from getting harder and cracking?
Our mink oil is a conditioner for old leather. That is what Vick uses whenever he is restoring old sneakers with harden or cracking leather.

Question when you guys put water in the bowl to clean do you use hot ass water or cold water ?
Cold water always. Warm or hot water will cause more bleeding.
We use room temperature water

How are you not scared to get them dirty or wrecked I can’t seem to wear them as a regular shoe because I don’t want to wreck them or dirty them!
