its a shame that not that many people appreciate this kind of music..only couple thousand views. my girlfriend doesnt understand this song...it touches a place where there are no words to describe that place.
This is one of the best produced pieces of music I've ever listened to. There's so much detail, so many layers of sounds, it's almost my favourite track of all time. It accompanies me for over ten years now, not a month passes without me listening at least once to it while trying to fall asleep. I love it so much.
I watched Casshern when I was 15, i'm 29 now and just randomly remembered this piece of music, do anything to go back to 15 year old me, life didn't really turn out how it should of done.
I was watching something else and felt asleep and was woken up by the sounds of this movie. It was like waking up into a dream. Unreal. I will never forget this feeling. Weird
There was a time when this music used to come on all the time (in my playlist, wasn't anything supernatural) whenever I used to read manga. So this is kind of like an official manga reading soundtrack for me ^^
Saw the movie maybe 7 years ago, the last scene is most beautiful part. It's poignant but powerful. A perfect summary of the purpose of life. Thanks for sharing it. **Just want to share, if any of you love the music go find another beautiful song 'The Letter That Never Came' by Thomas Newman.
@xmaster2 - I actually cry over it but more because I see it as either the last moments of true happiness, now gone forever, or the last moments of peace for those who were corrupt (that one guy looking into the sunset and crying was really amazing in particular)
I remember watching Casshern (2004) because the soundtrack was by Shiro Sagisu (Evangelion, Bleach). Still one of my favorite live-action adaptations, and such a great OST.
Casshern 2004 is one of the hardest movies to understand of all human history... I tried to read as many reviews I could to get a sense of what this movie tries to tell us... It contains so many and diverse themes, motives, ideas, symbols that I feel completely confused and lost in its labyrinth... This art isn't for fast food and popcorn cinema goers :D
There was a major war (WW3) and it left the planet irradiated and most people sick. Most people need organ transplants but there arent even enough people with healthy organs. Everyone is sick. But scientists find a way to grow new human organs in a lab. So the rich people are happy, they can afford the healthcare they need. Not only this but the scientists managed to create a whole functioning human. They are called neo-humans. Artificially created. They feel they are superior maybe having some better physical and mental attributes, also they feel persecuted and badly treated by the scientists who created them. They escaped. They decided they should kill all regular humans and the neo-humans should take over. But it turns out the scientists were running a scam. They didn't really find a way to create new organs, or new humans, they found a way to regenerate dead or damaged cells. All the organs come from people they killed. They can even kill someone then throw them into the tank and it regenerates them and they are healed and brought back to life. But they lost their memory. The neo-humans, who think they arent human, and who despise humans, actually are humans themselves and they had a normal human life before they were taken from their village, killed and then brought back to life. One of the neo humans who cared so much about another neo human dying, in the previous life he murdered her whilst laughing. And a neo human who can hate someone, in the previous life maybe they were in love. It shows that we are all human and the neo humans sense of elitism was wrong. It shows how we treat each other can change, we can love or hate easily. And the ending message is that we need to love and stop war and hurting each other.
@lasheron dont even begin to try and explain it to some people. If they dont sense it immediately they never will. Sometimes i really cannot believe what some people dont feel from music.
Now if only I could find: kiken scene 16, senko scene 34, dobo scene 43, sakudo scene 104, & Arishi Hi Ni Mita Tsukiduki No Youni - MOONLIGHT... then my ost is complete for casshern! -without downloading a software.-
@lasheron I find it a shame also that most people don't get songs like that, and don't get the movie in general. Even the Japanese people, when the movie came out, voted it to be the second worst movie of the year. How's that? Why are people like that I don't know. Maybe they don't take the time to see through things.
I'm not sure what scene it plays over in the movie, but the track itself is titled "Scene #149" It's also called "Kioku" It's one of the most beautiful tracks in the whole soundtrack.
Basically, humanity screwed itself up so bad that they basically killed themselves. All the while the main hero's body had a ticking clock to it, as he wasn't stable, so he and his girlfriend die in the last embrace they would share. In a way, the movie bringing a message about war and what it costs us all.
@VistaManiac93 No the movie sucked because of poor pacing, a story that will never make sense, the color orange posted over people to simulate a time of day. LENS FLARE. and prolly the most horrendous and insulting anti war message ever. The music rocks though and I don't think the composer was trying very hard considering he reused music he did for bleach.

Things wed do for people we love...
About 15 years ago when I first listend to it. I totally forgot about the song and randomly remembered the movie and this piece today.
No lie this song made me tear when I saw what his friends became and what they went through.
Saw the movie when it first released. I have the DVD now. Movie has one of the deepest messages to this day.
I just watched this and showed it to my wife, the ending got her good. T_T

no matter how many times i listen to it... I just get chills all over. I breath this music...
this song has soo much longing. a longing to be held by the one you love in an open field as the breeze caresses you both.
Film was a visual treat for the eye....the sound track was fantastic 👌

Reading Fire Punch to this OST was amazing I gotta say.

Shiro Sagisu is just...something unreal, i can't tell that he is a human, he is genius.Melodies like these are making my heart melt...
this movie was great and the music is soothing and sad in a way
@xmaster2 - I actually cry over it but more because I see it as either the last moments of true happiness, now gone forever, or the last moments of peace for those who were corrupt (that one guy looking into the sunset and crying was really amazing in particular)
Listening to this song on repeat.. R.I.P Anthony Phan

This song is a masterpiece..thanks so much for upload it =)
This song reminds me so much of outer space. The song is just so mysterious and yet beautiful at the same time just like Space.

@xmaster2 - I think it was showing what their lives could have been/the happiness they could have had. Which really punches you in the face.
