This show literally changed my life. i was a 12 years old kid when i watched this series. It's already passed 5 years, i don't even watch animes right now but yesterday i started to rewatch this masterpiece again. Because i finally realized how this show affected my life. Maybe you can say i was too little to watch this series or even understand it but i know that i understood it very well, i grew up faster than my friends mentally. And people around me always mention that i act older. But you know, this show teached me. almost all my motivations, life philosophy, reason what i live for comes from this show. It just made me realize who i am actually. All i can say is this show is a literal m a s t e r p i e c e.
It is indeed a masterpiece. One of my (if not the) favorites of all time.
I was like "Dude do you watch anime? Come on don't watch cartoons, grow up some." Then i watched Fullmetal. I was shocked. I haven't watched something like this before.

I just finished watching it and my god what a show. This was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my entire life. The music, the characters, everything. The whole show was basically a rollercoaster full of emotions. I'm going to miss it, very, very much...

Which directly translates to: Philosophers' Stone, Red stone, (and the last sentence can have several meanings)
1: (To what extent) does it affect reality/things?
2: Does it strive to achieve/imitate reality?
The way I see this sentence is that is questions it's natural place in this world, being an artificial construct of alchemists' greed and hubris.

this is the only show ive ever watched where I wish I could forget it and watch it again. but theres also the fact that I didnt get emotionally invested until about 9 episodes in, so maybe its better that I can now appreciate the first episodes more.. I wish I could've had that appreciation from the very get-go.
5 months late but it is not your fault that you didn't enjoy brotherhood's first 10 episodes because they are shit compared to fma's first 25 episodes. It is like they condensed those 25 episodes to 10, basically rushing it so it loses a lot of emotional impact.
When I finish Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, I'm going to re-watch Fullmetal Alchemist and work myself up again. Poor Lust, Envy, and Gluttony...

"original series" was actually not original since it deviated from the manga very early. Brotherhood animated the entire manga properly. For me, the only thing missing from brotherhood was the "Brothers" soundtrack...irony at its best...:D

I listened to this as I took notes on ww2 (for ap euro) and the music just seemed to express everything going on in that time of developing totalitarianism, the ever gloom of war, and doom.
True art, touches your soul, fills it with experience, rips it out, and leaves you feeling dead.

Brotherhood is the original, it tells the story the Manga told. The 2003 anime's ending sucked compared to Brotherhood
brotherhood was based off the manga and the original made there own, all in all i enjoyed brotherhood more because it had far more emotions in its scenes, and also contained a far happier ending with ed and al back to normal and together again even ed having his own family

Love the visuals I remember watching this show as an 8th grader at 13 back in 2011 when the dub first came out. Since then I have done so much, graduated high school, did four years in the military, got out and now I am halfway through my bachelor's degree program. It is scary how quickly time passes. I still remember getting off school for the summer and sipping Dr. Pepper all night while watching this show for the 2nd time because I loved it so much the first time through that I would watch it over and over. This is not just one of my favorite animes, but pieces of media produced ever. Great show and great manga. I have the entire manga, the series on blu ray, the soundtrack on CD, and several figures and wall scrolls as well as light novels. In other words for the TL;DR I fucking love FMAB.

One of the best anime of all times...
FMA Brotherhood is my fav anime... I cannot stop watching it. The storyline, the characters, the music... everything about this anime is so beautiful. Till now, I cannot find another anime that can take its spot in my heart. Rurouni Kenshin came really close.

What music what story line creeping agony and despair that following you till the end and amount of kindness and warming human emotions caressing your hart. This anime is more then masterpiece it feels like its alive and breathing air, while watching you never think that is painted or its not real story.

I remember loving the FMA anime, but then Brotherhood blew me away. The Gate..oh god..the sacrifices made for brotherly love. These boys lost everything and were willing to travel to unknown parts of the universe to stay together.
It was my first anime and now I feel empty inside after ending it. Hope I find something equivalent to how good it is xd

I watched the FMA Brotherhood again after years. The saddest scene wasn't that of Nina for me.
Characters like Greed, Envy or King Bradley
One was jealous of people, the other wanted to have real friends or Bradley who was chosen to lead but never chose anything himself
